Overworked Security Guard | OTA

WHO: Sephiroth and potentially everyone
WHERE: Ships and Temba
WHAT: Patrolling, fighting monsters
WHEN: Throughout the month of decision
WARNINGS: Probably none

Sephiroth is so tired.

All the commotion during New Tick and the rest of January, and now the debate over what to do next.... He’s voiced his opinions and has been going between his ship (Peanut Party) and Temba. Since some of the He Rows have opted to stay in space, he feels the need to check on them as well as those who have gone down to Temba. Sometimes he also checks on things on the Agrii ship to make sure there aren't more conflicts. That all, of course, makes much more work for him.

He likes to steal naps whenever possible, which doesn't seem to be that often. Sometimes he’s found in his room on the ship. Other times, other places on the ship, usually an out of the way corner. Sometimes his wings are hanging down. Other times, they’re wrapped around him for warmth or just to protect them from being tripped on. Despite being asleep, however, he’s good at snapping awake when approached. Usually. If he’s in a deeper sleep, he may not initially react. Or he may subconsciously fling a wing out to bat someone away if they’re getting too close.

On Temba, he’s often patrolling as he likes to do, studying the information he's trying to gather, or sometimes flying through the air. Flying is freedom to him and it isn’t unusual for a large blue feather to drift to the surface as he goes past. He’s also around to fight off unfriendly fauna coming into the city. And while he can’t be hypnotized by the Capra, he’ll try to help if any unlucky He Rows get into that predicament.

He does what he can to help with rebuilding and anything else that may need his attention. And he’s willing to help if anyone asks him. There's always so much to get done.

Donnie is intent on making sure there isn't a next attempt.

"It's just fact; sentient species can never agree on anything completely and it takes them a while to figure out that they can't go around killing everyone who doesn't side with them because there won't be much left."
thepurpleone: (so that happened)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-22 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Ha-hah... The only sentient species I've ever had experience with are humans. And yōkai, I guess, but they kind of all act the same, and no one bothers anyone else until a threat comes up. But I mean, Earth history is basically a repeat playbook of civilizations rising and collapsing and eating each other, right?"
thepurpleone: (hoboy)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-22 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's so comforting," Donnie comments dryly. "But you get my point."

"I don't see why we have to do anything, but I guess we can't exactly just sit by and watch," Donnie grumbles.

"I don't think they should come here. Their kind have certain needs, and unless the weather once it fixes itself, proves something more naturally humid, they'll have a hard time. And who knows how long it'll take for the climate to adjust, if it will."
thepurpleone: (grr)

Donnie can't help for an exasperated sigh. He kicks at a pebble, ignoring the sting against his toe as he sends it skittering across the square.

"We were asked to solve the storm problem. Which we did. So technically we should have been allowed home, only the reality of it is that the Agrii don't have that control to do so, and it was never meant to be such a simple fix anyway!"

He gave the cart a bit harder shove than necessary to avoid a pothole.

"They didn't. None of the Agrii aboard that ship have ever been down here. The last Agrii to ever be here on the planet was over two centuries ago. The Wanderer said that the summers weren't always so arid and intense, so the climate probably got super screwed up when the storms were programmed in."
thepurpleone: (not as planned but as I expected)

"It's too cold. I don't think they actually stayed there so much as just used it as a convenient venue for everyone to gather," Donnie says, shaking his head. "Cold really isn't their thing."

thepurpleone: (gum on the ceiling)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-23 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
A shrug. "I've only been there the one time, but apparently others have been there before, a long while back. I don't know if it was the same time of the year but it sounded like nothing much changed."

He kicks the pebble again once they catch up with where it had landed.

"They were never interested in inhabiting another planet. They've always believed this place was their home, even if they've never been here. And now we've more or less established that this isn't even their world of origin to begin with."
thepurpleone: (oh...)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-23 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Donnie groans. "I tried asking them but they have a one track mind when it comes to home. But at least when I talked about it with Te Mi, he did wonder about how they'd be able to handle things that weren't temperature regulated. The younger ones are more open-minded."
thepurpleone: (are we allowed to do that?)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-23 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe. You guys should try talking more to them in general. They're a lot easier to understand than the older ones," Donnie suggests.
thepurpleone: (this is me disbelieving you)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-24 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
"They'd definitely be the ones to talk to if we want to keep apprised to the Agrii political climate," he nods. "Also, Te Mi's brought up the point that hardly anyone's seemed interested in speaking to them before."
thepurpleone: (gum on the ceiling)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-24 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Donnie shrugs. "Yeah, the option's like, always been right there but I don't know who all else has cared to use it."
thepurpleone: (hoboy)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-24 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
"I literally just said I don't know who all else has used the thing," the turtle teen notes as he turns a dry look at the man.
thepurpleone: (not as planned but as I expected)

[personal profile] thepurpleone 2025-02-24 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Might not matter too much given the ones I talked to might not be available to answer. And I already said that I asked why they didn't just go find another planet to move into."
