Reeve was far from the first one down the hole. There were plenty of people more experienced with things like this, and Reeve knew that he was usually better if he let other people rush in first and then handle more clean up after. Which is why he comes in now, a bit delayed, with a satchel full of tools and Mini.II. It's Caffeine I Guess | Mess Hall
And of course, within moments, he's found himself by the damaged exterior wall of the hull. Reeve frowns at it, through the forcefield, to the expanse of space.
"Should have listened to you more, Cid," he sighs before setting his tool back down and taking out his datapad. "Mini, you know what to do."
The mechanical cat nods and moves off, clearly going to evaluate things from another angle for Reeve.
Any major project still requires food and drink after all. Something to keep you moving, to give you fuel for the next stage. Historically Reeve's been bad at dealing with that in bad situations.
He was just used to the food being more... appetizing.
Reeve sits at one of the Mess Hall tables, frowning at the steaming mug of brew in front of him. It smells and looks vaguely like coffee. But damn if he wasn't nervous to taste it. Just sitting there, tired as hell, frowning. Was it possible this was going to taste as bad as he feared? Yep. Probably.

"Yes. There are several apart from the ones we have used before. They were stripping the sides from one of those."
no subject
"Well, I cannot say that isn't wise of them. I hope the thickness will help us. Now if only one of them was a pilot to help you get out there."
no subject
Felspring floats back with her assessments, transmitting the numbers to Reeve's tablet.

"We get you one of the main ship pilots. I think I've seen Gladiolus around somewhere. If we can find a way to ensure your exiting the ship causes minimal decompression, then perhaps that's our best option. And thank you, Felspring, this is all very vital."

"We need someone with magic that could seal the area. That's all I can think of as a quick method."
And he hates it. It's a horrible plan that puts people at risk.

Felwinter has to agree, his optics drifting towards their current example. "Perhaps it would not be so dissimilar as that," he suggests. "Or there exists no actual safety protocols."
"Is magic capable of sealing off atmosphere? It might be safer to invest in spacesuits."
no subject
"Yes, you're right," Reeve agrees with Felspring. "And I'm more terrified than ever of space travel. I suspect that the Agrii haven't even considered it."
no subject
"There was a previous situation before this one, was there not?" Felwinter asks, fingering his chin. "But prior to that, nothing? I think the Agrii need to be made more aware of the potential dangers they may experience within their own temporary home. Perhaps they will be more open to learning how to prepare. Remaining sheltered like they seem to have been will not do them any favors."
no subject
But yes, knowing that these ones might be taught to be more prepared is very important. The question is who will have the time to spare to teach them.
"I would have hoped that they had learned enough in the creation of our ships that they would not need us to manage them."

Whenever they finished with these repairs, Reeve was going to want to do his best to see that the ship shuttles were converted with airlocks for Felwinter and Cayde to come and go for exterior repairs in the future.
"We'll figure this out. We're determined men and women and others. I believe as a whole we really can achieve anything if we put our heads to it."
Truly, he was an idealist of the highest order, wasn't he?
no subject
"Indeed."
Not that they had many alternatives, but he figures that needs not be said.
no subject
"Alright. I don't suppose you'd be willing to give me a boost back up the hole, unless someone's found a ladder or a rope? I should go see these youths in the hangar to see what they might have found.

"Would it be a problem if I said yes? Because I would like to experience that again."
no subject
"I have already offered. Unfortunately it will not be nearly as exciting given the space and the distance."

wrap this one soon? i want to poke cal and don't wanna overload you
"And I should also thank you now for how kind you were to me as a child. It didn't get said properly by him. Me. Whatever."
Sounds good!
"You're one and the same. And the thanks is unnecessary. Your awe as a child was...interesting." Unusual, he would have said, but then his experience with humans so small have not been very extensive. The Dark Ages were no kind place for a child to be raised.
With that, he glides on up.
