A Royal Arrival
WHO: Princess Zelda, you, and Link is probably hovering somewhere close by
WHERE: Various.
WHAT: Zelda's exploring.
WHEN: Later part of July
WARNINGS: none at the moment. Will update if needed.
{ Don't break these pots | Agriculture Building }
Zelda can't remember a time where she was allowed to just sit and re-pot plants like this. There's a thin layer of dirt on her legs and hands but she couldn't feel more at ease as diligently works gathering samplings to try and grow on her own. It's nice knowing that she doesn't have to worry about being told off or that she's not trying hard enough. She has a freedom here that she didn't back home.
She feels a little guilty for thinking that but buries it pretty neatly as she buries the root of the plant she's currently potting. She can worry about her conflicting emotions after she's done here.
"There you are, little one." She says soothingly to the plant and sets it aside to pot another. It's a little odd to her that she suddenly has the knowledge to take care of these plants but she isn't complaining. She wipes her brow, smearing a bit of dirt on her forehead before delicately cutting a sampling from the next plant that has her interest.
{ Moving in | hotel }
Zelda wanted her own room at the hotel. Mostly due to the fact Link's room is... a bit full. She takes a room as close to his as she can manage and sets about putting the few pots she has up on the window sill and opens the window to let more light in.
After taking some time to wash up and once she's clean again she works on arranging her room the way she wants it. She frowns at the lay out of the room. It's not a large space but she's sure if she were to push the bed up against the wall it would at least look like there was more space.
She briefly considers getting Link to move it for her but shakes the idea out of her head. They're not in Hyrule at the moment and no one's going to tell her she can't do things for herself. Alright then, her mind made up, she makes an attempt at moving the bed on her own.
The frame is bolted down but that won't stop her from at least pulling the mattress off. Anyone crossing by might just hear her grunting and struggling to pull the mattress where she wants it to go.
{ Out Wandering }
Evening has set in and she's done all she can for her room at this point. However, she's not quite ready to call it a night as she wanders through Temba, her attention on the map as she studies it carefully. She's in a new place and getting lost wouldn't be ideal.
Besides, she should probably meet some more people and introduce herself since they'll all be working together to try and help the Agrii.

(It's the sort of thing that, before the Calamity, Link would probably have done for her. He was her Knight; it would have been expected of him. But he doesn't remember those expectations anymore.)
Once it's in place, he looks back at the now empty frame. It seems a bit...odd, just sitting there without the mattress.
"The frame...?" he asks, wondering what Zelda wants to do with it.
no subject
"It does look odd, doesn't it?" She frowns. Maybe it would make more sense to try and find someway to remove it all together. "Is it possible to remove it?"
no subject
And then he draws the Sword that Seals the Blade, as he gazes at the frame with fierce intent.
no subject
"Link!" She says firmly. "Don't you dare use the scared sword for that." She tells him, watching him critically. "It' isn't that much of a concern. Perhaps I can turn it into a flower bed somehow."
She doesn't think the sword will break but there are things that sword is meant for and she's fairly certain removing a bedframe is not one of those things.
no subject
But Zelda doesn't want him to use it. So he sheathes the Sword, and knees down in front of the frame, staring at it.
"Flower bed would be nice," he says. But he still wishes he could solve this problem for her.
no subject
"We can solve that problem later." She decides. "Not everything needs an immediate solution you know. Sometimes it's better to have a moment to think and consider the problem first."
no subject
And yet, that urge to help is like an itch he just can't scratch. Especially when it's Zelda.
"Could ask Dustin. Or Tony," he suggests. "They're good at science."
And they're probably people Zelda would want to meet anyway - Link's sure she'd be very keen to see some of their inventions. Surely they have something that could detach a bed frame.
no subject
"I'm always happy to meet more people I can learn from, but really, this isn't that big of deal. Please don't let it weigh on you."
no subject
“You’d like talking to them,” he says softly. “They make things. Like Purah and Robbie.”
no subject
"I'd like to meet them." She says simply, deciding it best not to dwell on that. She'll see her friends again, of that she's certain.
no subject
"...Maybe bring Dustin to you," he adds. "His workshop's secret." And while Link trusted Zelda absolutely...Dustin wouldn't. Not at first. Maybe not even for a while.
no subject
She offers him small nod. "I'd like that."
no subject
But for now, Link nods. Makes a mental note to go find Dustin sometime soon.
Then he glanced around, at Zelda’s room. It’s a far cry from the one she had at the castle. Even if Link only remembers seeing it after it had been destroyed.
“Do you…like it?” He asks, soft and a bit hesitant.
no subject
"I don't know yet." She finally answers. "I think it has potential and of course I have more freedom here than I did-Not to speak ill of my father of course- but I suppose you could say I have mixed feelings about it."
no subject
But he'll do what he can, to make this place somewhere Zelda is happy to be. Even if it's not home.
"Things are different," he says quietly.
Then he falls silent. Except it's not quite like his usual silence. Zelda will know him well enough by now to tell that there's something else he has to say - some other words that he hasn't yet spoken, but wants to.
no subject
"Something is weighing heavily on your mind." She tells him.
no subject
"...My family," he says. "I don't remember them."
And Zelda, he hopes...he hopes she knows something about him. Anything. She mentioned his father being a knight once, so maybe...
no subject
"Well..." She starts, trying to keep the emotion out of her voice. "I didn't know him well, but I do know your father was very proud of you, and your Sister. I believe he said her name was Aryll."
no subject
He tries to picture her. Tries to see if there's something in there, something that still remembers what she looked like. But there's nothing.
He had a sister. And even if she survived the Calamity, he'd never get to meet her. By now, she would be dead.
no subject
"Yes..." She answers solemnly. "I wish I could tell you more." She regrets having not gotten to know Link's family more if only so she'd have stories to tell him that might help his memory. As it was, she was far too caught up in trying to get her powers to awaken and reading everything she cloud about how Gannon was stopped 10,000 years ago.
no subject
"Do you know how old...?" he asks.
Was his sister younger than him? Older? Around the same age?
no subject
Perhaps Impa would know more if she were here, Or someone in Hateno. It doesn't seem as though Link will be getting that closure though.
no subject
His chest feels strange. Numb.
"But...my father? You knew him?" She must have. If she'd heard him talk about his children...
no subject
"I.. knew him a little. Not nearly as well as I wish I could say, but yes, I met him a few times when I visited the guard house with Impa."
no subject
Somehow, it hadn't occurred to Link that Impa might have known his family. But...he should ask her. When they get home.
"Did...did you know his name?"
