[ Ash is using the communicator today - good for him. Or he is, at the moment. He's set the device up so he can have two free hands, Pikachu is sitting comfortably in his lap enjoying a few good pets and making happy little 'chaa' noises. ]
I don't think I've met everyone yet so, I'm Ash and this is my buddy Pikachu. [ He gently lifts Pikachu up to show the camera. ]
Pikachu! [ The little mouse greets with a small wave of his hand, there are tiny sparks emanating from his red cheeks. Ash holds him close, wrapping securely around his middle but is careful not to touch his cheeks. ]
The thing with Pikachu is-he's not really an animal like you guys seem to be used to-he's a Pokémon so he can learn special attacks based off his type-which is electric.
What I'm getting at is- because he's an electric type he can build up and store electricity in his cheeks. [ He indicates to the sparking red cheeks without touching them. ] But if he can't release the extra electricity then he can get really sick.
Pikachu's okay now but I need to know if there's somewhere or someway he can safely let loose some electricity. We usually just challenge other trainers to a battle but since that's not really an option [ Pikachu's ears droop in disappointment ] And there's no Pokémon Center here, I thought we should ask.
If you see us around, feel free to say hi. We love making new friends but Pikachu can be a little wary of new people sometimes. If you pull on his tail or cheeks he might try to bite but more than likely you'll be in a for a shock.
