Dudes, you WOULD not believe what I found.

[There's laughter and amusement in Tommy's voice. Something that hadn't been true at all by the end of the time in the tunnels. Look at him, not three hours free and he's already gleeful.]

So I took a nice little run after the tunnel opened and dudes, check this out. And we've got fucking ISLANDS not far from the shore. Like, not fucking in sight, so they're a bit out, just a few miles, but they're there. And get this...

[Oh yeah, you gotta believe that pleasure is ramping up.]

The chain of three of them? They're a fucking vacation spot or something. I found abandoned ruins. They're a lot like the city, all overgrown. There's these little things like a mix between a monkey and a sloth here too. I'm calling them chitterers, because they don't stop making noise, like, EVER. I even found something that almost looks like one of those paddle-swan boats. Except not because I don't think they had swans?

[And at last there's a picture of Tommy, stretched out on a beach with a white and brown, piebald creature hanging off of a nearby tree, clearly the 'chitterer' in question. He's holding a large cup of silvery crystal or plastic, clearly some sort of Agri version of a tropical drink glass like you'd get back on Earth, but with a strangely flared bottom, making it look a bit like an hour glass carved out of ice, and raising it toward the camera. All that's missing is that cheesy 'wish you were here' sorta sentiment on it, written in some horrible cliche font. Give him that, and he's a fucking post card. And, in the background, there's a broken down facade of a very different structure. The resort or vacation structure or something.]

Calibrations Event: End

It's sudden and perhaps unexpected after what seems like... well. It's been a long time. Weeks. You've been trapped in what you thought was a secret tunnel with no way out but now, finally, something is happening:

The shuttle door through which you walked to enter the tunnel reappears. It's spontaneous and sudden. There is no sound, no flash of light, but it's as if there's an air pressure change - for those of you who've flown on Earth planes, it's a feeling a bit like descending.

Your ears pop. And between one blink and the next, there's the door.

It swings open.

OOCly, as of July 10, the Calibrations event has now officially come to an end. Characters are now free to leave the secret tunnel - and, in fact, the place will seem to fade behind you as you do. Once you step out the door, no matter how quickly you might turn around, when you do, there's just a door in the rock again. You can't open it, no matter what you do. That place is now inaccessible. Any belongings or pets that appeared with you will reappear wherever you call your home, unharmed.

Calibrations Waiting Room Mingle

WHAT: Mingle log for literally anything you'd like to take place in the waiting room between sleep cycles during the event
WHEN: June 3 - July 10

For those that have heeded Ga Re's warning, the door within the secret tunnel - which looks suspiciously like the hatch to one of your shuttles - is wide open, waiting for you. You walk through... and the door behind you disappears. You’re now standing in a cavernous, cold, white waiting room. There are hallways leading off the main corridor with names above each. One of them has your name and will draw you toward it, inevitably.

And on the wall, in pink, running letters is written this single greeting:

‘Welcome to Calibrations’.

The secret tunnel has become a large waiting room with chairs, tables, and the same food dispensers available in the shuttles. There are also communal bathrooms - one for each gender - with several toilet stalls and shower stalls in each, including basic shampoo and soap dispensers, like you might find in a hotel. The water isn’t hot, so hopefully you don’t mind lukewarm showers. Somehow, at least, it never goes cold.

Branching off the main waiting room room are the labeled hallways. At the end of each short hallway is a door, with the same character’s name written on them. Anyone can enter any room, regardless of the name written on it. Everyone has their own room, though of course people can share. Each room has a simple bed (approximately queen-sized) and a set of drawers.

You can opt to spend time in your room or in the larger, common waiting room. (And if you do, you can thread it out here!) But every 16 hours, you'll feel a compulsion: You need to sleep. Right now. You find yourself going into your room (or someone else's, if you really want). But you’re drawn to the bed. You can’t help but lie down. And then, you fall asleep.
