WHO: Ash, Pikachu and You
WHERE: Pick your battle
WHAT: Ash and Pikachu have arrived. They're a little confused
WHEN: Right before the blizzard
WARNINGS: Uh... idk. A potential electric shock?
Livestock Nursery
Ash hasn't been in town long, maybe an hour or two. He's had long enough to check out the datapoint and wander aimlessly for a bit before he's drawn to the stable like structure.
Of course the first place he'd be drawn to is the livestock nursery. He's watching the glownies with interest even though they're not doing anything particularly exciting. They're just eating their lunch but by the stary-eyed look on his face you'd think that they were doing a whole multi-step dance routine.
There's a yellow fluff ball settled on his shoulder watching the Glownies with the same interest as the young boy that seems to have turned up.
"So cool! I've never seen anything like them before!" He says excitedly, the yellow rodent like creature agreeing with him. "D'you think they're a pokemon?"
"Pi?" Pikachu turns to look behind them as he thinks he hears something nearby.
The Diner
It was inevitable that Ash would end up here, really. It's been some time since he or Pikachu have had a bite to eat. At least, Ash is pretty sure they haven't eaten in a while-it feels like it's been hours and his stomach is gurgling uncomfortably loud. He's a little short on funds at the moment but he can always offer to do the dishes in exchange for a meal or something.
He pushes the door open, practically dragging his feet. One thought playing on repeat in his head; 'Hungry... need food.' The way Pikachu and poised half draped over his shoulder, he'd say Pikachu is thinking the exact same thing.
"Anyone here?" Ash questions, glancing around. It's not very lively for a diner. Hopefully it's not closed.
Special Training in a little west of the Security Tower
By now, Ash has realized there's no Pokémon beside his Pikachu here and that means there's no Pokémon battles. Honestly, it's a tragedy he's not yet ready to face and even then, there's no reason to get lazy. He'd gone off to see if there really weren't any Pokémon around and found himself disappointed- not even a pidgey.
"Well Pikachu, there's nothing for it, we'll just have to keep up our training a different way-hit me with your strongest quick attack." He tells the yellow mouse.
"Pika!" Pikachu agrees, launching a quick attack right into Ash who is easily knocked several feet backwards and falls with a thump into the grass.
"Whoa! That's some quick attack." He praises happily, if a little stunned

"When she feels like it she can unbind the braids to work with it, or gather sparks by carding her fingers in her hair. Tris is a weather mage, so it's not shocking that she's capable of working with it, just the means by which she does so."
no subject
"Pika." Pikachu nodded. Ash then turned back to Lark, thinking about how that would even work.
"I'd like to see that sometime-like a human Castform. They're technically a normal type but they can change their appearance based on the weather."
no subject
"Oh Tris isn't vain enough to do that," she laughed. "But magic comes in many forms in my world."
no subject
"Oh, the Castform don't have a choice-at least I don't think they do-it just sorta happens."
no subject
"I fear I don't understand, young man. Are you saying the magic of your world reshapes the creature against its will?"
How distressing.
no subject
"It doesn't hurt them-it's just how they're connected to nature." Ash quickly explains. "Like um... what's a good example..." He trails off, pausing to really think about it. "Shaymin changes into its skyform around a certain kinda flower."
no subject
"Transformative magic is very painful in my world," Lark pointed out. "So it is confusing to me."
no subject
"I don't think it is in ours. None of the Pokemon I've had that evolved have acted like it hurt." He says thoughtfully. "Hey Pikachu, you evolved from Pichu, right? Did it hurt at all?" He asks the yellow mouse.
"Pi?" Pikachu looks up and gives Ash a puzzled look. "PiKachu." Pikachu shakes his head and then returns to his attempt to befriend Little Bear.
no subject
"Well, magic seems to take many forms in the worlds, so it is fair that it is different for him."
no subject
"That's a good point. It's too bad it's painful for your world-it's always really cool on my." He tries to think of there was anything that might have been painful- Forced evolution comes to mind. "Well, as long as it's not forced anyway."
no subject
"Forced? Yes, I could see how that would be troublesome."
no subject
"Yeah, there were some really bad people that forced a Magikarp to evolve once and it went on a rampage. Magikarp evolves into Gyarados which can be really dangerous with attacks like dragon rage and hyper beam." Ash explains. "When a Pokémon goes on a rampage it's not in control of itself, it's so mad or in pain so it could really hurt someone"
no subject
"I'm so sorry for that poor creature then. The poor things should not be abused so."
no subject
"Yeah, Team Rocket's always up to terrible things but I think that was one of the worst things I've seem them do. Evolution should be up to the Pokémon since they're the ones evolving." Ash states and then looks at Pikachu fondly. "Pikachu decided a long time ago that he doesn't want to evolve and that's just fine with me."
no subject
"I hope the authorities of your world will try and help stop them."
no subject
"They do what they can, but Team Rocket follows Pikachu and me around everywhere we go." Although it was true Jessie, James and Meowth weren't nearly as bad as some of the other Team Rocket gang. "The region champion helped to calm the Gyarados and he's been taking care of it sense, so I'm just happy knowing it's safe."
no subject
"Champion? You have someone who serves the honor of your ruler?"
no subject
"He's not a ruler-The Champion is regarded at the strongest trainer in region-In Lance's case, he's the champion of two regions." Ash explained. "Someday, I'm gonna beat him in a Pokémon Battle."
no subject
"So... he's like Nico, like a strong mage. Someone who guides others."
no subject
"Uh.. I guess so." Ash says uncertainly. He's never really thought about what a champion actually does. He knows they tend to get involved when things got intense but that was also because intense for Ash usually meant world ending and really, no one wants the world to end.
Usually.
He forces the thought of Kalos out of his head keeps the friendly smile on his face. "Really, I think they're just really strong trainers that are really in sync with their Pokémon."
no subject
"And how does one become in sync with their pokemon, if I might ask?"
no subject
"Um.." Ash falters, thinking about how wrapped in his battles he gets. "To tell the truth.. It's kinda hard to explain-it's like the closer you get to your Pokemon, the stronger your bond is and the easier it is to really understand how they're feeling."
no subject
"Like the connection one has to a pet?"
no subject
no subject
"Well, perhaps you will find animals who will like your companionship here as well."
