So I have a favor to ask: would someone be willing to give me cooking lessons? My teammates say that I am a hazard in the kitchen and I'd like... to be less of one. Or at least trusted to make something more than sandwiches.

I would appreciate any help at all. And I'm sure everyone would appreciate it if I don't set kitchens on fire.

May I ask how many teammates you are cooking for? Perhaps it will be simple enough that it won't be too bad.

Just two. So nothing to crazy. Though there are some friends I'd also cook for if I could reliably not poison people with food or making something burn. Not that I want to subject my teammates to that either...

[Two? Then why is Tony suggesting a meal for four? Ah, perhaps he's inviting himself. High culture was all about balanced dinner parties was it not? Oh well, seemed harmless.]

Would that I had paid more kind to my mother when I was younger. But sadly all I can prepare are things easily made in a microwave or with an office hot plate.

[Shiro had wondered that too? He's not quite sure, but if he was making it, he should be able to enjoy it as well if that was the thought]

Yeah... unfortunately, I started training at the Garrison so I didn't have to learn how to cook for myself. There was always someone else who would do it.

I ended up going to college rather young, and had enough of a stipend to buy my meals so I could instead work through the time food preparation would have taken, so I do understand.

Yeah, very similar to that. And that makes sense. If you had the money to buy food, there was no reason to learn to cook.

[And Stark had money as well, so Reeve remains intrigued that he was going to cook for him.]

True enough. Though I admit I had a lot of instant foods.

I'm okay with most of those. I think. I mean... haven't set a building on fire at least. But yeah, definitely need some help in the cooking category.

I do hope the help you get is sufficient for your goals then. Will you be doing it at Keith and Lance's place?

Yeah, probably. There's surprisingly not much ability to cook on the ships. It's mainly just the weird food dispensers.

That's a frightfully good point. Perhaps we can see about finding a way to upgrade them for that.

I'd like to do that. Maybe we can figure out a way to do that.

I'll start looking into it. And talk to Tony about it as well.

Sounds good. It would be great if we could get them to make something some other things than just stuff that tastes like peanut butter.

[Reeve burst out laughing. Yes, it was like that he supposed.]

You're not wrong. I think I'm quite tired of the taste.

Same. I never ate as much peanut butter or peanut butter flavored items as I have here.

[Reeve nodded. He hadn't thought he could tire of it so easily back home.]

True enough. And I'm so ready to be done with it. It's just killing me to have to try it so much.

Right? Granted I have been away from Earth for a while, but this almost teasing me. This thing should taste one way tastes like peanut butter. Not exactly pleasant.

Bait and switch.

[He nods and laughs. He gets that too. It's like seeing a reuben and it tastes like oatmeal. No one is happy there.]

And it doesn't all work with the textures too.

Very much a bait and switch. It would be nice to have food that actually resembled food in more than just appearance.

See, now that you've said that, we're going to get things that taste like food and look even worse than protein paste.

Well, that is always a possibility too.

And I fear it's a more upsetting one to consider for me. Texture issues are real.
