[As the video starts, Lark is clearly seated by a warm fire, the communicator pointed toward her, and her hands are busy with what is clearly a pair of knitting needles. She looks insanely comfortable doing this, even with the head of her dog in her lap, just barely on screen.]

Good afternoon all. I was hoping to request some assistance in assisting you. I'm trying to make mittens to help keep us warm when outside this winter. But I need hand sizes. Anyone who would like a pair is welcome to come visit me in the hotel so I can take measurements.

[Then she smiles, shaking her head. Chances were people might find that weird, but she moves on.]

Where I'm from, it's very common to work on projects like this in the winter, and it makes me feel at home to do such things. So I would like to do this, not only to pass the time, but to help you all keep your fingers warm and comfortable this winter.

Yeah, it's pretty technical. I can try to explain engines in depth if you want, but it might take a while.

[And she does indeed keep working, smiling to herself as between her fingers fibers are spun into thread. There is no denying she’s an attentive audience either, focusing on his words and even asking questions. She’s just like that.]

My my that is involved. I can see a value in it, though I imagine motion through engines such as that result in increased soot and smoke in the air. Though less horses pulling carts.

[crystalmaster]

You're right! A lot of people complain about that. I'm all for finding alternative fuel sources, but I'm not sold on electric vehicles. Some companies are really pushing those. But you have to charge them up before you can use them! It'd be really inconvenient to stop and do that in the middle of a trip if the power ran down. I think it usually takes thirty minutes to an hour, at least. That's a lot longer than refueling gasoline. There has to be a better way.

Interesting. That seems like a barrier.

[And in those cases, horses might be better. They are animals of great stamina. But if you can't go as fast...]

It sounds like your world loses no matter what they choose.

[Of course, the other downside with using animals is that they have to relieve themselves somewhere....]

Pretty much. Well, maybe someday we'll figure it out. Maybe I'll even be able to help supply a good alternative fuel source, if we find it.... And if I ever get home.

Perhaps if enough gods are called upon, they will see fit to help us.

That would be nice.

[He still finds it a little hard to get used to, that there are many gods. But it makes sense that each planet would have some.]

It would indeed. I would like to be home with my family.

Me too. I'm glad that at least time isn't passing there, so they're not worried. But I'm sure missing them.

I hope it isn't passing there. I wouldn't want to be missed that badly.

I talked to a couple of people who've gone and come back, and they've said it's not passing, so hopefully that's true for everyone.

Well then that will be a comfort I shall keep dear to me.

[He wouldn't put it past the Agrii to screw it up sometime when sending some people back, but he will just hope and pray that won't happen.]

What kinds of recipes do you specially like?

Specially like? Well, things that involve vegetables and dairy if I'm honest. I find myself missing stuffed squash flowers at the moment.

Those make for delicious recipes. I love squash, but what's a squash flower?
