[As the video starts, Lark is clearly seated by a warm fire, the communicator pointed toward her, and her hands are busy with what is clearly a pair of knitting needles. She looks insanely comfortable doing this, even with the head of her dog in her lap, just barely on screen.]

Good afternoon all. I was hoping to request some assistance in assisting you. I'm trying to make mittens to help keep us warm when outside this winter. But I need hand sizes. Anyone who would like a pair is welcome to come visit me in the hotel so I can take measurements.

[Then she smiles, shaking her head. Chances were people might find that weird, but she moves on.]

Where I'm from, it's very common to work on projects like this in the winter, and it makes me feel at home to do such things. So I would like to do this, not only to pass the time, but to help you all keep your fingers warm and comfortable this winter.

Yeah. I wonder how many lessons they figure they need.

Perhaps they don't even know.

Probably. They seem like they could be capable of wanting us to stay on indefinitely. I hope not, though.

Well, we have not solved the problem, so perhaps that is why they wait.

[crystalmaster]

All the more reason to try as hard as we can to solve it!

[But he sighs. He knows they've all been trying.]

There are plenty who are suited to solving. I hope they have good luck.

Yeah, me too.

[He was trying to help too, scouring the city for any possible clues when he could, but so far no luck.]

Meanwhile, as they seek, I shall support.

Support is important. It's cool that some people are suited to that.

[He always longed for a confidante back home. He hadn't wanted to confide in the guys he looked after and burden them with worries.]

I suppose it is. I do appreciate it, though, being able to help even when I don't understand things. And there is so much here that I do not understand.

Yeah, same here. It's all so different ... so weird in a lot of cases.

Yes. All of this 'technology' is complicated for me.

[crystalmaster]

That's understandable. I'm used to some tech, but this is more advanced in a lot of ways.

You must imagine how out of place I was when I arrived, how lost. It was truly troublesome.

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, I felt a little out of place, but at least I knew about technology in general. For someone with no knowledge of it, it must've been really hard.

[stitch_witch]

Quite. I chose the datapoint I did so I could even fathom how to properly use these little devices. They are convenient. Though less personal than a letter.

[crystalmaster]

What's it like to use a datapoint? I didn't like the thought of it intruding in my brain, but I don't know if I'll end up having to use one sometime to get by in this place.

[He supposes face-to-face over the device is less personal in some ways, but he likes the closeness that comes with video calling.]

I suppose it's less upsetting to me. Magic can be like that sometimes. I have used magic to imprint the forms of pattern magic upon others. So this is like... really complex magic.

[crystalmaster]

Ah. That's interesting.

... Wait, you imprint magic on people?! Why?

[stitch_witch]

Yes, and no. But it's the only real way to teach a pattern spell. You offer the knowledge through magic itself, it's called an imprint.

[crystalmaster]

... A pattern spell? Like how to make a certain piece of clothing?

[Well, that doesn't sound too bad, if so....]

[stitch_witch]

Not exactly, but it's a good comparison. If you have a pattern it teaches you how to make a thing. But with magic it teaches you how to let the magic flow for complex spells.

[crystalmaster]

Ah. Yeah, that'd be pretty useful.
