Time for Tending Plants [Open]
WHO: Shiro and You!
WHERE: Temba
WHAT: Dealing with Plants
WHEN: Throughout Event
WARNINGS: Nothing yet, will update.
Oh What Insanity Is This
It was nice to be able to step off the ship and finally be back in Temba. While it wasn't actually home, it was nice to actually return to the place that had become sort of become home.
That's what he really would have liked to think. As he stepped out of the hangar and was able to survey Temba again, he was completely dumbstruck by everything that had happened. He just... stood there as he stared at it. The plants... there was just so much of it. It was everywhere...
"What the hell happened here? How long were we gone?"
Brave Explorer
Even though the urge to just stand and stare at the mess was really very tempting, it wouldn't do anything to make things better so finally, he went to find something that he could use to start cutting plants down. Dark that his new arm didn't have the same abilities as his old one and he couldn't just use THAT.
However, the metal arm did come in handy (ha) because he could use it to help push plants to the side with less worry about it actually hurting him. No feeling and very hard to damage helped like that.
But after working for a while, it didn't feel like they had really gotten anywhere. He grumbled before looking at the person next to him.
"How long have we been at this?"
Save the Glownie!
Shiro hadn't been planning on being out so late. He'd kind of lost track of time. One would say it was stupid for him to have been so careless as to forget about this part...
Shiro would call it a blessing though since as he was trying to find his way back, he stumbled upon a faint glowing light among the trees. Moving closer, he spotted one of the glownies that had wandered away from the its home in this mess. Maybe it smelled mint somewhere.
But that wasn't all he spotted. There was Thorntooth that was attempting to sneak up on it, ready for an easy target.
Shiro, of course, couldn't let that happen, charging to get to the Glownie first, having only a dinky weapon to try and delay it in his attempt to flee with the Glownie.
Bishop
Sorry, crew of the Bishop or anyone else who would be there, there is temporarily a Glownie wandering around on the ship one night...

Glownie was very expectantly looking at the rolled up napkin. It knew there was mint in there...
"Sounds like a very honorable thing to do. Sorry that you had to actively try to prevent the others from terrorizing people."
CW: Mentions of torture
"Thanks. Yeah, it was a real mess. I don't know how much good I really did. It was a complicated situation and people got badly hurt and killed before it was all over. If I hadn't stopped the guy from completely taking over, maybe even more would have suffered. But it was bad enough as it was and I wonder if my greed fueled some of my decisions. We were fighting over a valuable mine. My rival tortured his miners, but I treated mine fairly."
He looks haunted by the memories.
no subject
"Oh man, that's rough. I'm sorry to hear that this happened to them. There are some really terrible people out there."
And he knew that from experience as well, the torture part and the terrible people.
"Unfortunately, it's hard to tell how much it would have helped. Maybe not at all. People like that generally don't need a reason, but they will take it when they have one."
no subject
"There sure are," he sighs. "My friends tell me we did do good, as later the town fell and it immediately got worse. Thankfully, some other guys finally saved it for real."
But he still feels like he failed, especially since he was unable to be part of that.
no subject
"That's not good that it fell, but good that someone else was able to assist. Doesn't sound like it was an easy situation for anyone."
no subject
"Yeah, I'm glad someone could help. That's the most important thing. It was really rough."
no subject
And he'd raise his arm to show off his floating metal arm.
"Someone thought that I'd be better fighter for them with a new arm. Wasn't my choice."
Granted, this also wasn't that arm, but close enough.
no subject
"They deliberately amputated your arm?!"
He heard of Rex Goodwin doing that to his own arm back home, which was gruesome enough, but to do it to someone else ... !
no subject
He sighed. "There are some messed up people out there."

Radley hesitates. The "weird thing" certainly sounds ominous and he's definitely curious, but he doesn't want to ask about something he shouldn't. Still, with the door figuratively opened, he would like to ask one thing.
"Does that mean they thought you were involved?" he says in concern.
no subject
"So... I died back home. The robot lion that I piloted pulled my consciousness into its own so I lived even though my body was gone. No one knew this had happened. But since they didn't see me around, the group that had caused the problem released a clone of me so my group thought the clone was me and the clone did too, but it was essentially breaking up my team without completely realizing it was doing it."
no subject
"That's awful. For you and your friends and the clone. Did it end up realizing it wasn't the original you?"

Radley isn't sure what to say to that. He feels bad for both Shiro and the clone.
"That must be unsettling...."
no subject
"It is. It didn't take too long to get used to. The missing arm took longer."
no subject
"I can imagine."
He would be devastated to lose a limb.
"But you're doing okay now?"
no subject
"Yeah, doing good now. Still getting used to this, but it's better than not having one."
no subject
"So ... are any of your friends here?"
He wishes his were.
