WHO: General Hux and Poe Dameron

WHAT: Discussing about possibly making a droid.

Warily Hux waited at the hotel for Poe to show up. He wasn't too fond of the idea of meeting with the Resistance member especially after their last confrontation. Hux had made a point to avoid him due to it. He had to admit he was surprised that Poe had asked to meet with him. Instead of arranging the meeting at the Power Plant where Hux was more comfortable being at, he agreed to the Hotel.

It left less room for another confrontation and Hux wasn't so sure he would hold back this time if the opportunity arose. So, he school his expression to neutral one and kept his own anger in check.

"I'm a little surprised you wanted such a meeting, Dameron." Hux greeted when he saw the pilot arrive. Millicent was at his feet and gave hiss toward the pilot before diving behind Hux's legs to hide. She could sense Hux's emotions toward the new comer and believed him not to be someone to trust like most of the others.

"Hey, I'm just trying to make conversation," Poe defended, "You're free to ask all the questions you want, General."

It worried him a little how easy the banter was. He was used to serving it up, but not so used to it being returned. He was prepared to play nice, not to make friends.

There was a playful smirk on his lips. It had been too long since he had anyone to banter with or match his wit with. It was refreshing.

"I've noted that you tend to like to walk the wire and dive into danger quite often. How do you handle being grounded?" Hux retorted.

If Poe's sudden frown was anything to go by, not well. It was like an itch he couldn't scratch, the more time that passed the worse it got.

"How does any pilot?" he grumbled, "I swear, they're taunting me dropping me in a place with ships I can't fly."

"I believe the ships are capable of flying, but there's some kind of puzzle we are missing. The Agri made it a point of locking everyone into the ships so we could get to know one another before they finally allowed us off the ships. Meanwhile those ships wouldn't operate. I checked everything on the ship I was onboard and everything was fine and should have been working by normal standards.

I would also like to point out they were modeled to the original designs the Fleet used. Only these ships had no upgrades to them. Those ships had been fully operational." Hux carefully explained.

Even though he was bothered by the fact they couldn't leave the planet, he was highly amused by Poe's agitation that they were stuck with non nonoperational ships.

Well that's all the more frustrating, given Poe's been over them himself by now too, and can't manage to figure out what was wrong with them. His whole life Poe'd never met a ship he couldn't fly, and these ones, which should work just fine, refuse him.

He opts not to let Hux in on what the Agrii gifted him when he asked them for an X-Wing.

"The Fleet?" he prompted, because there's a whole lot of history he's missing out on there.

"The Fleet. That's how I know most of the people here and I how earned Millicent." Hux nonchalantly replied.

"But that's a story for another time, which you'll have to earn. You might someday earn that."

"Oh?" Poe arched a brow, and gave a surprised sort of laugh, "Well, don't wanna know what I'll have to do to earn that," he teased, almost out of habit before remembering who he was talking to.

"...Right, so...it's a deal then."

"Really, which deal are we discussing?" Hux replied as he stood up appearing to prepare to leave. Millicent was at his feet looking at him expectantly.

"I would hate for you to sound like the Republic and be all talk and no action. I'll admit it would be disappointing."

Poe looked almost amused, but then, whatever ground Hux may have been gaining was almost immediately lost at the mention of the Republic, a surprised and dark look on his face, smile dropping away.

"Would it?" His eyes narrowed sharply, but to his credit he didn't lash out.

"You tell me. Did you not leave the Republic because you felt you couldn't get done what you felt was needed?" Hux pointed out. Yes, he read Poe's files Yes, he was aware of what Poe had done in the past and the trouble he got into.

"Let me know when you're ready to step out of the playground and can handle everything that goes your way." Straightening his coat, he then gave a nod in Poe's direction.

"Until then, I'll inform you of any updates."

Just because it was true didn't make the sting any less. The New Republic refused to see the First Order for the threat it was, and in leaving them to join the Resistance he was disavowed, same as the whole of the Resistance. But for Hux to toss their name about now?

"I've been handling you well enough up to now, Hux," he reminded, frowning after him, and he gave a tight nod.

The fact that Poe was friendly toward Hux had started to make him feel uncomfortable. Yes it felt nice too, he liked the banter and the ability to match his wit. It had been refreshing and a nice change of pace. Yet, it was also weird. Poe was the enemy.

It was also out of habit to bite back, attack those that got too close to him. This was also why Hux didn't like getting close to people. He knew he didn't have to go that far, but regardless he had.

"Indeed you had. More so then what you're group would have done and I wonder why you tried." He then headed out the hotel with Millicent right behind him.
