WHO: General Hux and Poe Dameron
WHERE: Hotel
WHAT: Discussing about possibly making a droid.
WHEN: Current
WARNINGS: None can update if necessary.
Warily Hux waited at the hotel for Poe to show up. He wasn't too fond of the idea of meeting with the Resistance member especially after their last confrontation. Hux had made a point to avoid him due to it. He had to admit he was surprised that Poe had asked to meet with him. Instead of arranging the meeting at the Power Plant where Hux was more comfortable being at, he agreed to the Hotel.
It left less room for another confrontation and Hux wasn't so sure he would hold back this time if the opportunity arose. So, he school his expression to neutral one and kept his own anger in check.
"I'm a little surprised you wanted such a meeting, Dameron." Hux greeted when he saw the pilot arrive. Millicent was at his feet and gave hiss toward the pilot before diving behind Hux's legs to hide. She could sense Hux's emotions toward the new comer and believed him not to be someone to trust like most of the others.

Poe's gaze flit to the cat, lips giving a small quirk before it hissed at him, making him frown, before his attention shifted back to Hux. He shrugged a shoulder, not completely at ease, but he was making an attempt.
"Yeah, well...I didn't have a whole lot of choice in who to ask for this."
no subject
He had always been quick at seeing what others were saying and what they wanted. Even with people he just met. He had to be quick in order to stay ahead in the game.
Millicent peaked around Hux's legs to glance curiously at the new comer. This time she didn't hiss, but appeared to be apprehensive.

"The Agrii didn't seem to understand my request, and I don't know how to build one..." He really didn't like having to go to Hux for help.

As for the droid. If you're hoping it would be like that BB-8 Unit you will be disappointed. We don't have the technology here that I had to work with with the Fleet or even back at home. The mouse droid had been built from scavenged material I gathered from various planets we had went to.
However. I did find metal scraps in the cave. I still would need to get other various equipment. What would the purpose of the droid be? Companionship?"
Hux carefully explained. He wanted the pilot to understand that this wasn't a simple task and he wouldn't be able to simply replicate BB-8.
no subject
"Something like that, yeah." Admitting the want of companionship to Hux of all people was not something Poe felt thrilled about, but clearly there was very little other use he could have for one.
Honestly, he wasn't expecting the General to be so...amenable to the idea. He'd expected more of straight up rejection, a laugh in his face, or at the very least demanding a hell of a lot in return.

"Prior to our meeting you claimed I wasn't intimidating and you wanted me dead. Now you're approaching me because you see me as the only source to build you a droid. Did you know that the Supreme Leader only kept me alive after Star Killer's destruction was due to my ability to come up with a system to track people through hyperspace?
I feel that this is the same situation. I'm merely a tool to be exploited till I'm unable to do my job."
no subject
He frowned though, with that knowledge, trying to keep too much surprise from his face.
"... and I didn't. No. That was you that figured that out?" It was an impressive, and ultimately deadly innovation.
Eli's words had been weighing on him, and he couldn't help but think of them now, though it was harder to distance himself from everything the First Order had done, and see Hux as a person and not the living embodiment of all that suffering.
"I don't want to use you, Hux, I want your...help." That felt weird. Poe made a bit of face, not quite sure he was there yet. "Or...services. I can something for you to make up for it. Or...you can say no. Kind of expected you to lead with a 'no', if I'm being honest."
no subject
The fact that Poe in someway complimented him and asked for his help hit him more then the rest. They were things he wasn't expecting the pilot to say. It was also rare to receive a compliment and he couldn't help put puff up his chest in pride a bit. He was more used to be torn down.
"I can try and put together a droid for you, but it will take some time. I'm still learning how the technology works here and what I can use verses to what I'm used to using. I may require you to help gather various parts if I learn of them being available." Hux replied after a long pause.
no subject
He nodded then. "Yeah, I can get you whatever you need," he promised, head tilting in slight suspicion, "You don't...want anything else?" Not that Poe had much to offer here, but even in his wildest imaginings of this meeting, where Hux accepted, he expected it to come at some great cost.
no subject
"I realize you tend to be a little more open minded then he rest of your group. Otherwise you wouldn't be approaching me for a droid."
no subject
"...Extenuating circumstances," he explained away, "And I think it might be more reckless than the rest, over anything else." Besides, he was sure if the two of them met up in their own world like this, only one of them would be walking away. Hux was dangerous, and Poe wasn't about to underestimate him.
But here, they didn't exactly have much choice. "I'll do my best, anyways. Depends who might show up."
no subject
"I don't think you're friends will have a choice. I have an audience here that know my story. And here is all about gaining another chance.
Consider the droid as a peace offering."
no subject
Assuming any Resistance members ever showed up. The deck seemed to be pretty stacked in Hux's favour just now, old friends, and various Imperials.
Poe eyed Hux uncertainly. A truce wasn't something he was eager to agree to, but in the end he gave a small nod. "No point in killing each other here, is there? That'll all be settled if they ever let us go back."
no subject
As for the war at home? It's hard to say what the outcome will be. I doubt I'll be around to see the results of my labor."
Hux replied in a bleak tone. The war he had prided himself and the hopes and dreams he had set upon it were all a mixed set of feelings. All muddled up with the time he spent here. He would see it to the end what ever the end promised. He knew he was simply on borrowed time from his fate.
no subject
He looked curious then. They might not remember any of this if they were sent home, but it was still worth learning as much as he could. "...Snoke's really gone, huh?" He wasn't sure how he felt about that. It might be a sort of victory, but if it's Kylo Ren whose replaced him...that kind of chaotic energy with the force of the First Order behind it would be just as dangerous, if not more.
no subject
Hux bitterly replied and instinctively flexed his right hand toward the side of his waist. Only he knew his blaster wasn't there. Not that he was going to shoot the pilot if he had it, but it was more of a remembrance of the time.
no subject
He noted the reflexive move with a faint frown, but so far as he knew no one in this place had a blaster or any sort of weapon.
"You didn't take the shot?" He hummed and shrugged a shoulder. Not that it would have done much good. Poe'd tried. He could practically still see that blaster bolt frozen in midair.
no subject
His face turning a faint red from anger. He took a few breathes to calm himself down and his the color began to fade. It wouldn't be wise to get so emotional now in front of the enemy.
no subject
Poe offered a half smirk. "Yeah, I remember him not being a big fan of that." Look that, they have something in common.
no subject
And for once it felt nice to share his side of things to someone who was involved. Not to someone who was on the outskirts of things and barely knew what was going on. Why was the stupid pilot so easy to talk to?
no subject
"I'm guessing that's how we escaped?" he probed, not really sure himself. Hux had given that much away when explaining before, but Poe still wasn't sure how they made it out. "Never thought I'd be grateful to see that mess in charge, but if it gets us off Crait..."
no subject
He could be difficult as well. He could still taunt the other with the information. Besides the other had enough information to piece it together.
no subject
"So do all the First Order officers know how to build droids, or is that just a personal hobby?"
no subject
"What do you think, pilot? What have you managed to piece together. I'm sure you could probably answer that question to."
no subject
It worried him a little how easy the banter was. He was used to serving it up, but not so used to it being returned. He was prepared to play nice, not to make friends.
no subject
"I've noted that you tend to like to walk the wire and dive into danger quite often. How do you handle being grounded?" Hux retorted.
no subject
"How does any pilot?" he grumbled, "I swear, they're taunting me dropping me in a place with ships I can't fly."
no subject
I would also like to point out they were modeled to the original designs the Fleet used. Only these ships had no upgrades to them. Those ships had been fully operational." Hux carefully explained.
Even though he was bothered by the fact they couldn't leave the planet, he was highly amused by Poe's agitation that they were stuck with non nonoperational ships.
no subject
He opts not to let Hux in on what the Agrii gifted him when he asked them for an X-Wing.
"The Fleet?" he prompted, because there's a whole lot of history he's missing out on there.
no subject
"But that's a story for another time, which you'll have to earn. You might someday earn that."
no subject
"...Right, so...it's a deal then."
no subject
"I would hate for you to sound like the Republic and be all talk and no action. I'll admit it would be disappointing."
no subject
"Would it?" His eyes narrowed sharply, but to his credit he didn't lash out.
no subject
"Let me know when you're ready to step out of the playground and can handle everything that goes your way." Straightening his coat, he then gave a nod in Poe's direction.
"Until then, I'll inform you of any updates."
no subject
"I've been handling you well enough up to now, Hux," he reminded, frowning after him, and he gave a tight nod.
no subject
It was also out of habit to bite back, attack those that got too close to him. This was also why Hux didn't like getting close to people. He knew he didn't have to go that far, but regardless he had.
"Indeed you had. More so then what you're group would have done and I wonder why you tried." He then headed out the hotel with Millicent right behind him.
