[Event] The Day The Network Stood Still

The Day The Network Stood Still
The datapoints are a great equalizer, bringing all who come to them the same level of knowledge with the systems they are associated with. Or that's how they're theoretically supposed to work. Truth of the matter is that coming in with some level of competence and understanding can go quite far, and being completely oblivious can have its own repercussions.
Especially when one learns something is theoretically possible and wishes to understand the how of it. Usually such explorations of an apprentice in a skill tended to be better guided by a master to avoid disasters. Well, perhaps disaster is too big of a word to cover what happens from the exploration of the communications systems by Dedicate Initiate Lark.
All it take is looking into a hidden directory here, accidentally deleting some data there, a frantic bit of trying to fix the system from memory, and a true lack of knowledge of Ctrl+Z as a lifesaver. And just like that the communication system's user database was horribly tangled, posting was down, and poor Lark was none the wiser of the chaos she had inflicted.
And so it happened that there came a Day The Network Stood Still.
Well not fully still, but it's sure being difficult. The posting process for public messages is glitching out, video and audio and even text posts bouncing back with a 'System Error: Please Try Again Later' message. Over, and over, and over for hours. Good news? The direct message function still works properly right? Right?
Wrong. Any message sent directly to another He Row will find itself caught up in the error and delivered. But never to the right person. The good news is that once a conversation chain starts, at least the system is sending back and forth reliably. People will just have to live with their mis-sent texts getting out there to other people. Who knows, maybe it will be good for some laughs.
When does this event take place?
Can my character make a public post during this event?
So what do we do?
My character doesn't send a lot of private messages. How would I get them involved in this?
I'm still not sure I understand the format of this. Any examples?
Wait, so I can use this for AC?
What about content warnings/other possibly triggering stuff?
Can we see who the misfired text is from?
Can senders see that messages didn't get to their intended recipient?
Can I just play this out in my inbox?
Does my character have to keep interacting after they figure out it's the wrong person?
I don't know who to send something to. Help?

wait is this cal
or bd-1
my parts probably aren't in there
but i want to make a stock
because if i get hurt and a biocomponent gets damaged
i'm fucked
awww you just made a friend and don't know it
This is truly a concern though, if you might suffer from a lack of biocomponents. We should begin to lay in a stock for your health as soon as possible. I will share some of my replicator rationing with you if you desire.
That’s a weird word - "friend"
:T
i have a first aid kit for me
but there's a big threat here
so i just want to cover my bases
just in case
my name is york stark
no relation to the tony here
i think
i hope
Yes, this isn't what she thinks it should be spelled as.
But I would still happily assist you, Mister Stark.
no subject
i think he's anthony
mine is antonio
and a dick
i'd rather just avoid him
less risk
…don't call me mister
that's my dad's name
replicator is in city central right
idk how well the replicator will make my parts.
no subject
Alright, what honorific should I use for you?
The replicator is on the map in the building labeled as 'Whale Comb Sent Her'. It's an Agrii thing.
no subject
but
if it applies to both then so be it
lol
none
york is fine
no one else here with that name
agrii are weird
i haven't been in there yet
busy doing other things
[Like pissing people off and looking for his spot to stay.]

It is wise to go and see the space. It is often safe from things that are uncomfortable here. Not always, but often.
no subject
are you an android
you've got that sort of
stilted talking like my brother
maybe later
i don't go out until late
easier to keep away from people
mostly humans
more here than i thought there would be
no subject
Ah, sadly I am very much a 'morning person' I am told. But yes, there are more than a few humans.
no subject
you win
no prize
just gloating i guess
custom sculpt android from stark technologies
i’ve never heard of kree before
not earth?
morning or evening
as long as there's no one around
do you think the specs you've got
would work for trying to replicate what i need?
no subject
Kree are an interstellar species that are familiar with Earth in my universe.
I do not have specs at this point, but together I do not doubt we could design what you need.
no subject
man so you probably aren't even from the same timeline as me
huh
interesting
you guys solve world hunger yet
i might be able to draw out what i need
mainly my thirium pump
other things would be secondary
i do have packs of thirium
maybe we could teach the replicator to make that too
no subject
I am not familiar with thirium. Do you know the chemical composition of it?
no subject
it's thirium310 in a bag
main component being thirium
everyone at home just calls it thirium
or blue blood
mined from the artic
used to circulate energy
and electrical info through my components
i have a couple of packs at least
[And he sends along the chemical make-up of the blue blood]
no subject
no subject
idk what's in your blood
some humans use the thirium chemical in a drug called red ice
if there was a lab
we might be able to see if it's compatible?
i'm gonna guess no tho
no subject
There is the hospital.
no subject
i would rather avoid workshops and hospitals
if at all possible
only a few years behind
my world detroit is 2038
i was in NYC in 2037
not hiding tho
staying with my mom and middle brother
no subject
What is the world like then?
Ah, family is nice.
no subject
i haven't been here long enough to know anyone
do you?
awful
fucking awful
humans are destroying androids
they blew up our home
After they raided and killed those who didn't comply
i hate humans
i want raze their city to the ground
let them see how it feels
no subject
To speak from the experience of my people, it is not wise to seek such revenge. In the end, one or the other people might be wiped out. And all suffer from this.
no subject
where we don't need humans
we can fix each other
rebuild what humans took from us
but they won't let us do any of that if they're still there
we were living peacefully away from them
taking other androids to deconstruction camps
hell
there are some that were just abandoned like garbage
the jerries were left to shut down in pirates cove
they say we're not people
that we don't deserve to be seen and treated as such
i'm tired of watching my siblings suffer from that
