[Event] The Day The Network Stood Still

The Day The Network Stood Still
The datapoints are a great equalizer, bringing all who come to them the same level of knowledge with the systems they are associated with. Or that's how they're theoretically supposed to work. Truth of the matter is that coming in with some level of competence and understanding can go quite far, and being completely oblivious can have its own repercussions.
Especially when one learns something is theoretically possible and wishes to understand the how of it. Usually such explorations of an apprentice in a skill tended to be better guided by a master to avoid disasters. Well, perhaps disaster is too big of a word to cover what happens from the exploration of the communications systems by Dedicate Initiate Lark.
All it take is looking into a hidden directory here, accidentally deleting some data there, a frantic bit of trying to fix the system from memory, and a true lack of knowledge of Ctrl+Z as a lifesaver. And just like that the communication system's user database was horribly tangled, posting was down, and poor Lark was none the wiser of the chaos she had inflicted.
And so it happened that there came a Day The Network Stood Still.
Well not fully still, but it's sure being difficult. The posting process for public messages is glitching out, video and audio and even text posts bouncing back with a 'System Error: Please Try Again Later' message. Over, and over, and over for hours. Good news? The direct message function still works properly right? Right?
Wrong. Any message sent directly to another He Row will find itself caught up in the error and delivered. But never to the right person. The good news is that once a conversation chain starts, at least the system is sending back and forth reliably. People will just have to live with their mis-sent texts getting out there to other people. Who knows, maybe it will be good for some laughs.
When does this event take place?
Can my character make a public post during this event?
So what do we do?
My character doesn't send a lot of private messages. How would I get them involved in this?
I'm still not sure I understand the format of this. Any examples?
Wait, so I can use this for AC?
What about content warnings/other possibly triggering stuff?
Can we see who the misfired text is from?
Can senders see that messages didn't get to their intended recipient?
Can I just play this out in my inbox?
Does my character have to keep interacting after they figure out it's the wrong person?
I don't know who to send something to. Help?

i don't expect someone like you to fucking understand anyways

It is our greatest sin.
no subject
fuck you
you sound so high and mighty right now
just because i told you what they were doing
doesn't mean you understand
we just want to be fucking seen as people
not murdered for deviating off of our programming
sent to a scrapyard
not held down to be torn apart because
we're just 'pieces of plastic'
i'm not going to sit idly by
and let humans rip us apart anymore
we are not lesser beings
we are not playthings for humans
to just chuck to the side
to have our insides ripped out
and left to fucking die
and if we have to incinerate the humans to get that point across
so fucking be it

I am very sorry for overstepping my bounds. It was not my intention. I apologize.
no subject
i shouldn't have yelled
sorry
thank you
for sharing experiences
maybe if i go home
and everything hasn't gone to hell
i can use them
no subject
no subject
they took everything
before i came here
they
they sent a raid into our home
they were killing so many androids
and then
they fucking blew it up
i don't even know what happened after that
humans are shitty beings

cal told me that humans are pretty awful to their own
i believe that
i can only imagine how bad they are to each other
at least there's laws with humans hurting humans
is it bad where you're from?

The Kree and Skrull both have so many things to make up for.

i guess maybe
sometimes trying helps?
idk
i've never been in a situation like that
[And York is making an effort not to make the same mistake she accidentally did a few minutes ago.
This was the part where he should offer...sympathy? Right? ]
i'm sorry it was hella bad for a really long time

In a way I am lucky. I have not really been a part of that war.

the only situation i've known
violence on more violence
i put myself into the revolution tho
what did you do back in your world?
i guess like a career or a hobby or something
idk if you have a fancy name or anything for it
no subject
I was an Accuser.
no subject
interesting
name for a judge
did i understand that right?
also i strangely like how you put that?
'i was a soldier until i wasn't'.
i was an architect until i wasn't.
kinda
poetic

It is a sensible way of explaining myself. I was made to be a soldier. I remained such until I became something else.

never met an actual bodyguard before
sensible and logical
efficient even
gets the point across without getting too convoluted
heh
there's so many things i can substitute in for what i was and what i became
no subject
It is practical, and that I appreciate.
no subject
and the military
bodyguards i think might be for like
presidents and stuff
but you said you worked for an emperor right?
so that would make sense
which is something you like i think

Beyond my mother.
[Wrong, Lauri. Mar-Vell was WAY more important than Mari-Ell. Except for the fact that Lauri-Ell loved the mother she had never known, and hoped her mother would have loved her.]

[York hadn't asked anyone yet of their parental relationship but now...well, curiosity was a thing. His programming was constantly learning after all. So why not learn how other people's families function? Probably better than his at least.]

color me surprised
thought donuts were an earth only thing
though i suppose if you come to earth
you probably tried some
maybe brought them back to her?
no subject
no subject
well
i'm glad we have something good for her here
since she has you as her good thing on
your...
planet?
it'd be a planet right
or maybe a moon?
