Uh, guys? Anyone seen Tony? I am getting some bad vibes about this. His place is a wreck and it wasn't my fault, he didn't even write, network was down during the storm so who knows what anyone was doing-
Also? I think someone's funnin' with us because there is like, nothing on the network referring to or from him. I am pretty sure if he was all a figment of a mass hallucination we must have all been on something pretty wild but I don't think there's anything out there that can produce a guy like Tony Stark so..!
Something weird's going on around here. Sound off if you find anything interesting.

What, everyone wanna go metal these days?
[He's just trying to keep the mood light. All the same, he trots over towards the edge of the hole.]
I don't buy that. And Pete' thinks he knows who might have it out for Tony. -he conscious? I got Jean skimming mental frequencies for him and some other guy's coming with rope.
[But of course he's already working out the best way down, eyeing the sides of the walls for the best footholds. He'd done this once before, going up. He holds out his hand to bring out Sundance.]
You picking him up on radar? [He's asking both her and Jon.] I can drop down to that space we both found last time when the bugs came out, I think there's something of a ledge there yet. Don't think it blew out when blew up the tunnel the last time.

I can't possibly climb down there and bring Tony back up. This thing can fly. And he gave me the controls. Truth be told, he makes it look easy.
[ He exhales, clearly tested. ]
And now fly. Don't try launching off into space again! We need to get down theyaaAAAAHHHHH!!
[ And that's the armor darting up much higher than planned only to abruptly stop and hover inelegantly above the hole. ]
.....Christ.
[ Beat. ]
If one of ours is responsible for this, I will peel them. Now, down. Carefully!
[ Does the armor comply? More or less. Unfortunately it's not necessarily built for slow or careful. But it also doesn't dart straight down either. Though agitated Archivist cursing certainly is part of the trip. ]

[Cayde takes in a deep breath he doesn't need.]
I will not laugh at Jon because this is a serious situation, I will not laugh at Jon because this is a serio-*snicker* situation, I will- oh forget it.
[He steps away from the hole trying to smother a laugh before clearing his throat. Sundance looks at him.]
What?? Oh come on, gimmee a break. Keep an eye out for the guy with the rope. I'm heading down.
[ And with that, he steps off the edge.]
no subject
Which really just means he is rambling to himself. ]
I know, I know, it's probably like riding a bicycle. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy. But this isn't easy. Just like wrapping my mind around the entire scope of reality isn't easy. It's hard. It's a lot to keep in mind, a lot to be mindful about, a lot to focus on and overall, a lot. Should have given me an instruction manual. But no. No instructions. There never are instructions. It's always all about figuring hings out as they happen- Fuck. How much further does this shaft go?!

Once he spies the ledge that once led to a tunnel full of bugs that he and Tony had found in what seems now like ages ago, Cayde leaps, breaking off the momentum of his fall so he can land lightly on his feet. Having two broken legs will only make things take longer.]
Tony? Where are you!
[He looks down past the edge for the next place he can safely drop to.]
no subject
[ Jon points down, but what he has seen isn't yet within the range of the light, but there is a strain to his voice. An odd mix of tension and relief as he urges the armor down faster.. ]
Come on. Land! Don't mess it up aga-ACK!
[ Well, the armor complies up to the part where its feet touch the ground - And it promptly lands on its butt, leaving Jon to flail and push himself back enough up in front of the body to crawl towards it. ]
Tony!
no subject
Tony- hey? Boss don't you quit on us now!
no subject
Abruptly, he goes scrambling away from the approaching light, certain it is his small fire spreading out of control as he dozed, only to find it thoroughly burnt out as he backs up against the wall of the cavern and still has to raise a hand to shield his eyes from the glare. Light?
It takes him another beat yet to process what he's seeing. He doesn't seem to be particularly battered himself, for someone who fell into the endless pit; scraped and bruised, from trying to climb and scrapping together what he could find to build his way out, but unbroken. That doesn't stop him from grabbing the nearest rock and launching it at Cayde's head.]
No, uh-uh, I do not have enough gas down here to go crazy, too, you come back later.
no subject
Thank god, Tony. Are you hurt? How long have you been down here? I--
[ Jon moves to reach for Tony only to be reminded of all the metal currently between them and he pauses, scowl hidden within a helmet. ]
Oh, for goodness's sake, spit me out. Come on. Don't be difficult about it!
no subject
OW! Really????
[It doesn't hurt that much but he blurts out from the shock of friendly fire, rubbing his face.]
no subject
I'm...trying?
[He is less convinced that he is hallucinating, but Tony has no other way to interpret 'spit me out' except as a figment of his imagination trying to encourage him to make something to get himself out of here already. He's done it before under worse circumstances, and here is the Iron Man to remind him.]
Honestly, this is not helping, we're really diverting from the production schedule.
[And that did not explain Cayde, who Tony might have to admit is real. Maybe the Iron Man is, too. Very deliberately, Tony slaps a hand against the faceplate.]
no subject
[ It may not be his face, but Jon's head certainly is pushed back by Tony's slap. ]
J-Jesus Christ! Tony, it's me, Jon!
[ He slaps his hands lightly in the direction on Tony's hand, very focused on not accidentally hurting the man. ]
Stop throwing rocks at Cayde- And hitting me, please. We're here to get you out of this pit.
no subject
[Once he's sure nothing's dented he walks over to join the two, hands up to show he's got no rocks to retaliate with.]
Status report? You still got a good arm so I'm assuming those at least aren't broken.
no subject
Fine, always, nothing broken.
[Finally, he stops fussing at Iron Man's face, and stops looking defensive to glance between them, still lost and baffled but not arguing with reality.]
You came to find me?
[How was probably a good question, although while Extremis still seems to be bugged, Jon appears to be much more focused than he had been without his powers--focused enough to pilot the Iron Man, which they were also going to have to deal with. Right now, Tony is more concerned about why. He didn't expect anyone to be looking for him, let alone find him to help him out of this stupid hole.
More importantly, he stiffens and is once again pushing at the Iron Man helmet to try to open the faceplate himself, asking abruptly,]
You're okay? Where's Beck?
no subject
[ Jon winces a little at Tony reaching for his face again. ]
L-look. Tony. If you can tell the armor to let me out again, I will gladly let you take over. You're the better driver of this thing.
[ And he doesn't fully trust himself to get them out of this hole without bumping into its walls at least once. ]
And what's Beck got to do with this? Did he fall in here as well? Last I know is that he was messing with the network...
no subject
[Cayde smiles crookedly at Tony, letting the two sort out the armor situation while he pulls out his tablet.]
Beck- wait, was he the one that scrubbed all of Tony's info?
...
Know what, you don't gotta worry about Beck. Felspring just gave me a head's up. He's with them.
no subject
I, uh, can't.
[He does stop trying to pry it off by hand.]
You have to give it back to me. It's supposed to be safe in your control, if I'm... [He's twirling a finger by his ear, but both the motion and his voice trail off as the pair of them give him some insight as to why he was still having trouble connecting to the network, and his suit besides. Beck must have covered his bases.]
Them? Who's 'them'? Where's Peter?
[He's on his feet, ready to climb out again if he has to.]
no subject
I'm amazed how well you took this fall.
[ An observation. Which is followed by an explanation. ]
I... Wasn't sure what state we would find you here. That's why I figured bringing the armor would be a good idea. Also I'm... A terrible climber. I will gladly leave it to you again once we're all out of here - And you helped me figure out how to get out of this again.
[ He turns his head towards Cayde. ]
Felwinter went to Beck?
no subject
[He pantomimes with his fingers jumping from one side of the hole to the other, up and up.]
-yep, guess he did. Guess I'm not surprised. From what I've heard, Felwinter prefers the direct approach. Sounds like Peter's with them.
no subject
[That was another thing they were going to have to deal with eventually, that something clearly intervened and what that meant, but it really felt like they were on a clock here so Tony doesn't wait for Jon to argue with him about his vincibility. He's already gesturing for Jon, the Iron Man, to hold himself straight, so they could do something that Tony could already tell was going to be regrettable. As long as they were regretting it up at that bug ledge, as Cayde called it, when they had further options.]
We have to get Peter away from him. He brought me, said Peter was down here, then he--let me fall. Are your jumps hot enough, Hot Stuff?
[Tony is already stepping on the Iron Man's toes, hugging around his neck.]
no subject
Right. Peter was at the library for a while during the storm, by the way. Are him and Beck familiar with one another?
[ A pause before Jon addresses the armor. ]
Now- Up. But Slowly.
[ It starts- Well. Shaky. But the Iron Man does slowly lift off the ground. At least for the first few moments until suddenly there is a burst upwards that has Jon shriek and hold on to Tony with both arms suddenly wrapping around the man. ]
no subject
[Cayde finishes his texting and stuffs his tablet away to prepare for the trip back up.]
Beck's playing the innocent victim card and Peter's buying into it, but now they're all heading over to see us. It'll be great.
[He hops on his toes but is still totally caught off guard once Iron Jon goes rocketing upwards.]
THAT ISN'T SLOW!!
[The Exo launches himself up towards the wall, pushing himself off and upwards after them.]
Sundance- they might be coming in hot if Jon doesn't get a handle on that suit. -I'm working on it..!
no subject
[What Beck and Peter did and did not know about each other felt rather like the crux of the current problem to Tony. He shot Cayde a narrow, sidelong look for his...optimism, sucking his teeth and ready to joke back, only to be cut off by their wobbly ascent. That isn't so bad--]
Jon! Freni!
[The sudden speed might have been manageable, but Jon's yelling and squeezing is much less so, even as Tony squeezes him back as he loses his footing in their wild dart. He has to kick wildly to try to shove Jon's foot to one side and redirect the propulsion, trying to spin them enough that it is his shoulder that gets shoved into the cavern wall before Jon gives himself a concussion.]
no subject
He still has to put up with Jon's yelling. ]
Tony, IT HAS NO BREAKS!! Slow down slow down slow down slow down SLOW DOW-oomph!
[ There is a stop happening right there and then. It's sudden and rather caused by Jon hitting a rocky outcrop, the impact and abrupt halt making him choke on his own words.
But that pause doesn't last long and after drifting away a few centimeters from that obstacle, the armor continues upwards, its path more spiraling wildly than going straight up at this point. ]
no subject
As they start to pirouette past, he leaps across to nudge them into the center of the vertical tunnel they were ascending, planting his foot and repeating as he saw necessary to try keeping them from hitting any more rocks.]
