Uh, guys? Anyone seen Tony? I am getting some bad vibes about this. His place is a wreck and it wasn't my fault, he didn't even write, network was down during the storm so who knows what anyone was doing-

Also? I think someone's funnin' with us because there is like, nothing on the network referring to or from him. I am pretty sure if he was all a figment of a mass hallucination we must have all been on something pretty wild but I don't think there's anything out there that can produce a guy like Tony Stark so..!

Mr Stark's missing? Have you tried to library or the diner? Or.. somewhere else?

[ How could Tony Stark be missing? He's way too extra to stay missing. He'd like blast Led Zeppelin or something and be immediately found. At least, the Tony he knows. Dos this one like Led Zeppelin? He'll have to ask. ]

Scoped out all the usuals. Nothing. Even if he were just hanging out, we would've been able to just yell at him on the comms but, well take a look for yourself. His name's not listed.

[He scowls, but not at Peter. Even if Tony up and got bamf'd home, it wouldn't have taken all traces with him. At Peter's offer, the Exo nods.]

You do that, kid. I'm still keeping an eye out too.

[ Peter does because that sounds odd. He returns moments later. ]

That doesn't.. make any sense... [ he muttering as his mind races through reasons this might be. If someone goes missing or dies it's not like they get completely wiped from the planet. There's things left behind, a fact Peter Parker is all too familiar with. ]

[ He frowns because the fact that Tony is missing from even the network paints a worrisome picture. ]

[ So he does. Cayde absolutely suspects foul play. ]

But why? Why would someone-

[ He pauses as his brain starts to piece together information. Beck. The name rings in his head. Tony had told him just recently that he should be careful around Beck. He didn't say why but it was easy enough to form a conclusion. Not only that but he had told Peter over the network which has now been scrubbed of any trace of Tony Stark. ]

[ He bites his lip as anger starts to build and he feels a little sick because where was he while all of this was happening? When Tony Stark could have actually used his help? ]

Then someone's going out of their way to try and hide something. You're right, this doesn't feel right.

I've never had used one of the datapoints. Do you think that's something one of us could accomplish, or should we be looking at our hosts?

I've made it a point never to touch the things myself, but I'd say it was within the realm of possibility. You got the knowhow and the means, you can do anything. I would -not- want to be in their shoes if that's what's happened though.

[ There is a pause here, followed by a small curse and Jon's next words are clearly not directed at his phone. ] No, that wasn't intended for you! You keep moving!

Cayde? Meet me at the big hole. You know which one.

[There's something about the staticky preamble that makes him tense. And then come Jon's words.]

What- where?!

[Yes yes, he'll help, just-

He drums his fingers impatiently against the tablet, practically bouncing at his doorway. He needs a heading dangit- ah!]

Got it! On my way!

[ When Cayde reaches the hole, what greets him isn't exactly Jon. Or at least it doesn't look like Jon while still technically being him. And maybe the not very Tony-like posture of the Iron Man gives it away as the armor leans over the edge of the hole to look inside before turning its head towards the approaching Exo while the rest remains perfectly still.

The voice that greets Cayde is undeniably Jon's, just heavily modulated by the helmet. ]

He's down there. Alive. I assume he got lured here in the fog and fell, but-

[ That's something they can clear up later. First they have to get Tony out of there. ]

[It's a bit confusing at first, but not at all hard to guess who's at the helm.]

[He's just trying to keep the mood light. All the same, he trots over towards the edge of the hole.]

I don't buy that. And Pete' thinks he knows who might have it out for Tony. -he conscious? I got Jean skimming mental frequencies for him and some other guy's coming with rope.

[But of course he's already working out the best way down, eyeing the sides of the walls for the best footholds. He'd done this once before, going up. He holds out his hand to bring out Sundance.]

You picking him up on radar? [He's asking both her and Jon.] I can drop down to that space we both found last time when the bugs came out, I think there's something of a ledge there yet. Don't think it blew out when blew up the tunnel the last time.

[ And despite everything, Jon manages to grumble through the helmet. ]

I can't possibly climb down there and bring Tony back up. This thing can fly. And he gave me the controls. Truth be told, he makes it look easy.

[ He exhales, clearly tested. ]

And now fly. Don't try launching off into space again! We need to get down theyaaAAAAHHHHH!!

[ And that's the armor darting up much higher than planned only to abruptly stop and hover inelegantly above the hole. ]

If one of ours is responsible for this, I will peel them. Now, down. Carefully!

[ Does the armor comply? More or less. Unfortunately it's not necessarily built for slow or careful. But it also doesn't dart straight down either. Though agitated Archivist cursing certainly is part of the trip. ]

No, not a struggle. Damage is too widespread, too deliberate. Someone trashed the place.

Not necessarily. A lot of stuff they could have taken but instead it looks like they just wanted to destroy what they could.

I didn't catalog everything, I was more concerned about Tony's whereabouts. Not an easy door to get in either, and it was locked up nice and neat when I got there so someone took care to make sure it wasn't obvious there was a mess inside.

Going to different realities has taught me to at least try to be nice at first. People may have the same names, but turns out they can all be really different. [ Which is also weird. ] Uh, well, basically I'm a telepath. I haven't met this Tony so it might be a bit harder to look for him than it'd usually be, but I could try.

Yeah, among other things. Telepathy is my specialty, I just try to keep it uh, on the downlow. People are weird about that sort of thing. [ Nobody likes someone that can enter their mind. ] If I know the person then it's just easier to know what to look for. Finding one mind is kinda like picking a needle out of a haystack. I can still do it, but it's just a bit harder.
