Video
[The video opens on Poe's face, edges of his jacket still dusted with salt and red earth.]
This is Commander Poe Dameron of the Republic fleet. I'm looking to speak to whoever's in charge here. I've got some pretty pressing issues to deal with back home, and uh...I really need to be getting back. Or at the very least if someone knows of a long range transmitter, or a ship, actually? A ship would be good.
...Or caf. Do you guys have caf here? Or maybe something stronger? That whole...glowy ball thing..., the data point- that happens to everyone, right? [He taps at his temple with a frown. He didn't particularly enjoy that experience.]

Voice;
[Poe sighs. He's finally coming to accept the repeated assurances that he's stuck here, whether he likes it or not. The accent at least doesn't mean quite as much as it used to. Though it is one that gives Poe brief pause as he considers.]
Yeah? I have a feeling I could use it after today.
Voice;
[He's not happy about it either, but. Not like there's any choice but to move forward with the cards they've all been dealt.]
I've been experimenting with making alcohol, so yes, I can help with something stronger than caf. If you're looking for something stronger than what I have, there are certain fruits that will get you drunk in a hurry. I don't recommend them.
Voice/Post Fight;
Alcohol would be good.
Voice;
Shall I come fetch you, or would you prefer merely being given directions?
Voice;
no subject
Let me know if you get lost. Not at though I have someplace else I need to be or anything else I need to do.
Voice/Action
[And Poe finds himself following a new set of coordinates. This time at least, he doesn't expect a trap, but if it is, well...it's worth the risk. It leads him to what looks to be a green house, and Poe hums, stepping inside. Not what he expected.]
Hello?
Voice/Action;
[He doesn't think himself easy to miss... But then, with his size, maybe he is.
When Poe arrives, Altair can sense quite a bit. He can sense that the man is scared, and sad. He can sense loss. Much else, too. Not that he's inclined to bring it up.]
Over here, [He calls, raising a hand to wave him over.]
Action
Though the veiled figure that greets him doesn't seem to be a Squamatan. Poe raises a hand to return the wave, though after another glance at the veil he drops it, not sure it's worth the gesture.]
I'm realizing now I never got your name...
Action;
[He has a few other names, of course, but none he feels like it's worth sharing just now. Just being Kallig to most, Altair to some, suits him fine. He hasn't really been tossing his title around much either, seeing it for what it is in this place- worthless.]
Are you alright, by the way? You do seem somewhat worse for wear.
Action;
[He offers a hand to shake, and shrugs off the concern.]
What this? [He gestures dismissively to his bruised face.] No, I'm good. Uh...small disagreement. No big deal.
Action;
[He reaches to shake his hand, a firm, confident handshake.]
Do all your disagreements end in injuries then, since you're so quick to shake it off?
[His tone is lighthearted- not a question that needs to be answered.]
Action;
It's Captain, actually. Had a bit of a disagreement about that too.
[Also included a good slap.
He starts to smirk in amusement, but after a seconds thought-]
They do, actually, yeah.
Action;
[It's said with a faint hint of amusement. Considering what he could feel when he approached, perhaps a distraction is good. Stars know he needed it when he arrived in this unfamiliar place.
Still does, really.]
No wonder, then. Still, I am unsure how many doctors we have available, and however many or few, proper resources are even more scarce, so do take care to not get too beaten up.
[That might be a bit of concern. Republic or no, this man is likely from the same world as he is, after all. That shunts him at least slightly up Altair's list of priorities.]
Action;
[He's not really representing the New Republic fleet either, but he's less quick to volunteer that correction.]
I talked with at least one earlier, but I don't wanna bother her for something like this.
So. Drinks? Not the locale I was picturing, I'll be honest. But it'll work.
Action;
With his back turned on the other man, his dualsaber is fully visible, but then, he wasn't exactly trying to hide it either.]
It won't be the best drink you've ever had, I'm afraid, but... I will certainly take the edge off.
Action;
I'm sure it won't be the worst, either.
Action;
He understands. It's a natural feeling to have. So he says nothing, even though he's aware of it. Poe will speak up if he feels like it, he figures.]
Wouldn't get you stabbed on most civilized planets. Wouldn't go serving it to the elite, but it does it's job.
[Well, there's still stuff that needs to be done, still improvements to be made, but it's more than drinkable.]
Action;
Well lucky you, I'm about as far from the elite as you can get.
Action;
[Well, not like every elite's going to turn it away, anyway. He's technically supposed to be one and honestly he's had fun with it and had come to a point where it actually does taste good. Not the best he's ever tasted, but still more than a passing grade.
As they come to the place he's cleared out to work, it's obvious that it really is a small-time operation, tended to mostly by himself. He's scavenged and even created things himself.] I do apologize for the more than rustic operation I've got going, but the Agrii aren't big on giving out even the essentials of survival gear, apparently. Despite the task they've laid before us.
Action;
[It looks as though he has some idea what he's doing, which is more than Poe could manage.]
You do this back home?
Action;
[There's definitely some humor in his tone of voice, and he shakes his head. Shadier than even this...]
No... I grew up in a slave settlement, though. And slaves do get up to the strangest things when their owners aren't looking. So I learned a thing or two.
[But then, it had happened on Korriban too, acolytes concocting the strangest of alcohol in the strangest of places, out of sight from any Overseer. On any planet, he supposes, there will be someone looking for a way to get drunk.]
... I also touched the data point here, giving me some idea about what the fruits and vegetables here are like. Knowing what I'm working with helps.
Action;
[It's a moment before he thinks to add-] Not as a prisoner.
[He frowns at the nonchalant way he mentions the slavery, but the way he speaks does seem to imply it's something he's escaped since his youth.]
...I can imagine that would make things easier.
Action;
[He can sense that the way he'd spoken about being a slave was disliked, but there wasn't much he could do about that. Slavery is unpleasant, he knows, but it's still something that was part of his life.]
It does. Especially since some things here have rather strange effects- on humans as well as aliens, too.
Action;
[He flashes a teasing smile.]
So how strong is this stuff? I don't wanna end up passed out in a ditch somewhere.
