Flying You Say?

WHO: Obi-Wan Kenobi and You!
WHERE: Temba and Sh'Ka
WHAT: Gonna go fetch a ship!
WHEN: A few days after the mine incident.
WARNINGS: None atm

[Network Post - Video]

I've decided that it would be more convenient to have the Palm Cottage brought to Temba. If anyone has any objections, let me know. Otherwise, anyone who wishes to come on the maiden voyage is free to do so. I'll be taking the next train out.

Also, if there are any Agrii listening, particularly Te Mi. Then I would like to thank you for the gift. There are several people enjoying the lightsabers already.

[Train to Sh'Ka]

With a small bag of personal things and a toy lightsaber, Obi-Wan heads out to the train station and boards the next train as he said he would. He's hard to miss with that flowing Jedi cloak. Whether you're coming with you fly on the Palm Cottage or not, he's clearly in a good mood and willingly to talk to anyone who wishes to.

A hand gesturing to the seat next to him for anyone who would like to join him on the lengthy ride to Sh'Ka.

[Palm Cottage]

Once the train stops at the station, the Jedi heads straight towards the hangar. Does he meet your character there perhaps? Or had they been on a different train car? Either way, he accesses the ship that he's been assigned to pilot and goes inside. Feeling at east on this ship even more than he had on the Twin Roses. Possibly due to the abundance of potted plants that are situated around the ship.

He first heads to the bunks and places his things on the captain's cot. Putting down the toy lightsaber he brought and unpacking a few other items that he decided he would like to keep on the ship, including a holocron. Once he's done with that he heads for the cockpit and begins to power up the systems and refamiliarize himself with the controls.

There's something tender and pained in the depths of Asterope's heart as she realizes that...she'd probably have felt just the opposite. That the idea of losing her actual memories of her childhood, being able to accept another life, another narrative would be a good thing from where she's standing.

But her childhood wasn't the same as Obi-Wan's, and her identity is flimsy in comparison to his confidence.

"That the false history might have overtaken the real one and changed you somehow. Right? Makes sense. Not sure how realistic a fear it is, but having it as a fear makes sense. From your experiences."

"Is...part of it that you didn't choose to change, or really feel involved in it? Like, like it was something done to you? A violation, kind of?"

She tilts her head slightly, considering him.

Asterope nods thoughtfully. She can't really help with the problem, but it seems like talking about it might be helping. "You have a life that's yours, something to cherish. It makes sense, not wanting to lose that. It's important. And being a Jedi is special, there never were those on Earth, that's something else to not want to lose."

"Is it even possible for you to accept the idea of the loss of your self, when without a self, there's nothing to do the accepting?" It's circular, she's aware of that, but she expects him to get the point she's making underneath it.

"Well, you'd know best, how much you have or haven't changed. Don't really have a point of comparison like some of the others here might. But the you who you're currently being seems like a good guy."

And that's something that matters, even if it's not the only thing.
