Cobb Vanth here. I spent most of my early life in mines. If anyone else is around and hasn't gone off to the new city I want to explore what's opened up. You never do that alone so if I can get at least one person to watch my back I'd appreciate it.

I'd like to go in the morning. First go through to see what needs fixing up and mapping the area. Figure out from there how much work the mines will need and what happens next.

We can likely carry in lights if we need to. The air I wish I could help with testing. Sadly Mini doesn't breathe so that doesn't help. But if we can contrive a way for him to test it, he can walk in front of us in the tunnels to let us know.

We should all carry lights. Well, in the old days, they'd take scurries, animals from home, and if they died the air was bad. Not something that I think folks would agree to do here.

I've never heard of scurries. I'd say maybe Tony could make something to help, but I doubt it. Perhaps that Drake boy? He seems technically minded and focused on gizmos. Or the gentleman named Beck?

Drake's offered to help. He's got a probe that can sense the air. And there's a new guy here who doesn't breathe so I'd say we've got some scouts.

An air sensor probe sounds wonderful! Though if we do have another who doesn't breathe, I'd still send Mini forward some. It's instant feedback even if something were to disrupt our comms. Maybe this new guy would agree to have a rope connecting them and Mini so if there are holes Mini falls into, he can haul the little one out...

You'll have to ask the guy if he'd be okay with that. I figure we've got a decent party to investigate. Plenty of back up if something goes wrong and enough people who know what they're doing.

I am glad to hear it. Perhaps we should encourage extra security datapoint uptake if not many of us are armed? Just in case?

I've got my blaster. A few other folks are bringing their weapons. Gotta say, engineering is probably the better datapoint for a mine. We might need to shore up things more than shoot them.

Ah, then we should hopefully be safe. I just hope those with us exercise caution in discharge. I would hate to ignite something. That would be horrifying.

Shoring up is definitely possible. I'm assuming you know how to do that best in a more natural environment?

I should be able to use the same knowledge from my younger days here. Can't be that many ways to keep the earth from falling in on you.

I'll happily follow whatever knowledge you have on that.

Is there any chance we might be able to find something that can do initial trouble areas without going back out? Perhaps I should figure out how strong an ice column is.

I wouldn't trust ice. I mean, the underground is cool but rather mark the weak spots and get supplies to properly fix things. I don't want to take unnecessary risks in this.

I trust your decision there. I'll gather what I can for supplies. See if I can't pack some snacks too. Mini and I will be ready to meet you as soon as you want us.
