[ And this is Jon appearing on your network feed, actually outside of his library and in all likelihood enjoying a nice evening at the open air. ]

I... I mean. We don't need more apologies, and yet I feel like I owe quite a few. Things happened. I hurt people both physically and verbally and I'm sorry, but...

...it happened.

[ He falls silent, eyes dropping for a moment. Then he clears his throat and looks back up and over his screen. ]

The beach here is gorgeous. Have been here a few times now and- I think it would be nice to- To come together. Here. Have a nice day and enjoy- uh, well. The beach. The water. Find some time to just... Talk. Maybe... Have fun...

I... I will organize something.

[ Is he awkwardly announcing a beach party? Oh, you bet he is. ]

Hey Jon, it's good to hear from you.

[He's still processing what had happened the past month, himself. He may not be aware of exactly what had happened on Jon's end, but Cal knows things had been more than a little weird.]

That sounds like a great idea. I think especially after all that, it couldn't hurt to have some actual time together.

That's the plan.

[ Jon offers a little smile that shifts into something akin to a smirk. ]

I know they weren't real, but I did notice you being quite endeared to the mothcats.

[Cal arches a brow at that look before glancing away awkwardly, coughing before he allows himself a chuckle.]

You saw that, huh?

How do I say this, I, uh, I- Saw everything any of these cats saw. Which sounds a lot. And it is, but-

[ He shrugs. He's had more going on in his head. ]

Wow... That's pretty crazy. And sounds like a potential headache.

[He mirrors that shrug, sliding a hand through his hair.]

Well, they were just kind of there. You know, being cats. BeeDee and I like to stop by and play with Countess's kittens sometimes, so maybe that's why, too.

Oh, they very much were cats, indeed.

[ Jon nods, and there is an undeniable degree of resignation in the motion. Cal, he has SEEN things...

He sighs. ]

But I'm certain the Countess appreciate your visits. Maybe eventually they will stray out further from the library and spread out over other parts of the city.

[ Or they just stay at or around the library. No one can truly tell. ]

[Cal chuckles a little. He is so sorry, Jon.]

I'm sure they'll be roaming everywhere sooner or later. They're already pretty adventurous either way.

That they are. And don't get me wrong, I- I don't necessarily mind their presence.

[ In fact, he's happy enough to have them around. ]

Didn't think you did. Maybe people will end up coming over to borrow mothcats instead of books at this rate.

As long as they don't harm them, I am not opposed to people spending time with them.

[He nods.]

That's true. I think so far people have been pretty good with them at least.

Fortunately. But maybe also for their own sake. I have had my encounters with upset cats in the past and this lot is surprisingly organized if they want to.

Hm. Maybe give everyone a head's up about them? Just to be mindful in either case. They are still wild animals, too.

That's already the approach I'm taking, but good thinking, Cal.

Will I see you at the beach?

[Cal smiles, giving Jon a nod.]
