"Nothing like nostalgia, huh?" Small talk on a ship-prison. And then, more importantly:
"Heard from Wanda?"
no subject
The smile vanishes to be replaced with a concerned expression, however. "I've spoken with her over the communicator, yes, but--she cannot sense anyone outside her own ship. It's distressing."
Distressing for Wanda, because she can't sense the Vision. Distressing for him, because he knows he can't put her at ease. Not to mention she's stuck on a ship with Tommy, and there's no way he can keep the twin's secret from her that long. It's a lot to worry about.
no subject
"At least we know it's not forever. Once we're freed we should double check her powers to make sure the nerf is temporary."
He reaches out and grips Vision's shoulder tight.
"You okay?"
no subject
Reality storm might not be the right phrase, really, but there had been enough damage to the city from them that he's not sure it's not the right term.
He nods at Steve when his shoulder is gripped, though his expression is still a grimace. "They had the grace to give us communicators before isolating us like this, at least. It could have been worse."
no subject
Steve will rip apart the Galaxy with Vizh to find those they lost. He's apparently done it before.
"I'm glad for the communicator," he deflects. "Part of me can't stop being afraid Bucky will be spirited away again. Talking to him helps. Even if it monitored.
"Any chance we can make our own network you think? Like in the Fleet?"
no subject
"It's not quite enough for Wanda," he says quietly. "She cannot sense any of us beyond her own ship, and it is causing her distress. If they are going to trap us here, the least they could do is allow us shuttles or the transport beams, or to allow for teleportation abilities."
It helps--being able to talk to her is far better than both of them being worried sick about the other--but they've been together almost constantly for almost two years now, and it's terribly lonely not to feel the gentle touch of Wanda's mind on his own.
"If we had the proper materials, I do not see why not. We should see what we can acquire once we're let out--I have yet to visit the, ah, Space Target."
no subject
"Space Target?" It takes Steve a second to recalibrate his thoughts and understand what the Vision means. Soup Lies. "Ah," he laughs, unable not to. "Yeah. That's a good idea. There's also that communication area that might be of some use if we tinker around..."
