Closed to Din

Since everything in Tembra got back to normal, Grogu has been worried about Din. Din had such a different life in that other world... and he showed his face. That had to bother him. He'd mostly left him alone for the first couple of days. But his concern grows and he seeks him out.

When he finds him, he walks over and makes a soft noise, reaching out to touch his leg. Are you okay, Dad?

Friends!

The past month had been a lot for everyone. Grogu might not be able to talk to people like others. At least, not in a way that most could understand, but he still wants to make sure his friends are okay. It just takes him longer to get to people... he's got little legs! If you're a friend, he's going to try to seek you out somewhere! At some point, a little green Jedi will come walking over, looking up with his giant eyes to see if you're okay.

Out and about

Other than checking in with people, he's going to be spending his time either chilling at the Deep End watching (and occasionally eating) the fish, trying to help with cleaning the Jedi Temple in progress, meditating by the fountain, or chasing some small critter... possibly to eat it.

"I'm sorry. I've been a bit out of sorts ever since Billy's little mishap."

Which was putting it mildly, but he didn't want to worry his little apprentice. There were more important things to think about.

Grogu sends him reassuring feelings through the Force. It is strange, but he's sure Master Kenobi will be okay. Is there anything he can do to help?

He will be okay. Though he has a lot of soul searching to do in the mean time. It was almost like two people were living in the same body.

But the feelings he gets from Grogu makes him smile and he reaches out to Grogu. “Come here little one.” His company would be help enough.

There's a lot for all of them to process and get through. It was a rough month...

He returns that smile and eagerly moves towards Master Kenobi. He's good for company, or hugs, or snuggles. All of the above.

Smiling as Grogu came quickly toddling toward him, the Jedi Master scooped up his little padawan and held him close in a hug.

"Oh Grogu, you have no idea how glad I am to have you here."

He found comfort in just holding him, just as he offered his own to the tiniest of the Jedi.

"You know, in Billy's world, I thought I was someone else. I had lost my family there too, except for Ezra. Though my family was just my parents and my little brother. It's given me an interesting perspective and a greater appreciation for my Jedi family, both in the past and here now."

He's very huggable. He likes hugs, too. Grogu closes his eyes and relaxes into Master Kenobi's embrace. It's a good thing for both of them, actually. He's glad to have Master Kenobi there, and he's glad to be able to help him a least a little.

He sends what comfort he can to the older Jedi as he speaks. That must have been so strange. His own story hadn't been much different. He'd been with his adopted guardian, Din, after all. The powers had been foreign, but it was a new experience and he was glad to learn from it.

Stroking the little one's back, he appreciates the comfort that's sent to him through their bond. With Obi-Wan sending back warm feelings of his own. They hadn't known each other long, but he still gives Grogu his love and care. Using this moment to further bond with him.

"I think we will be all the stronger for it, eventually," Obi-Wan muses. "Because that's what I wish for us all to be. A family."

The feeling is mutual. He feels a deep connection to his Master. He'd heard of such things, of course, but he had long since lost hope that he'd ever feel it. Din may be his father, but Obi-Wan is just as much his guardian.

He nods, making a soft noise of agreement. He already feels like their group is a family. It's absolutely wonderful.

“You really should convince Mando to visit more often,” Obi-Wan says as he picks up on Grogu’s feelings through their bond. “As a part of your family he’s part of ours too, just as Padme is. And it would be good for us to talk more.”

He nods. He should. He'd like his dad to be a part of this side of his life. Din might not understand the Jedi, but Master Kenobi is right, they're his family, too.

At the mention of Padme, Grogu tilts his head. He's curious about the twins.

"Ah... you're wondering about Luke and Leia." Obi-Wan chuckled as he picked up on Grogu's thoughts. Naturally he would be curious about the young force sensitives who he hoped one day would be Jedi themselves.

"They are well and growing every day. Would you like to see them?"

He nods. He would. It's strange to see Force sensitive children after this long... Especially ones so young. He can't help but be curious.

"All right then. I'm certain Padme wouldn't mind a break. Let's go see them."

With Grogu in his arms, the Jedi stood up. A strange flutter in his chest at the thought of seeing Padme. His thoughts going back to the time they had danced. Both on Coruscant and in Billy's world. But he pushed those thoughts aside, at least for now, as he made his way with his Padawan to where the former queen and senator was staying with her children.

Grogu smiles. He can feel the happiness from Master Kenobi about the thought of seeing Padme and the children. It's a curious feeling. He didn't know his Master was so close with her.

Truth be told Obi-Wan hadn’t either and he hasn’t thought much on it. But he definitely enjoyed her company and being with the twins.

So it’s with a smile that he knocks on Padme’s door. Asking if it’s all right for Grogu and him to see the little ones.

Padme agrees with a smile. Why wouldn't she? Obi-Wan is the closest thing to a father the twins have.

Grogu's eyes widen when he sees the babies. They're so little! He curiously reaches out towards one of them.

Obi-Wan chuckles as Grogu reaches out, the Jedi master holding his Padawan close to the babies so that they could touch. The two of them reaching back with wide, wondrous eyes. He could sense what they were feeling, and he suspected that they knew Grogu was like them.

As they grew, he had a feeling they would all three become good friends. That's what he hoped for. That this Jedi family would continue to grow and become intertwined.
