Closed to Din

Since everything in Tembra got back to normal, Grogu has been worried about Din. Din had such a different life in that other world... and he showed his face. That had to bother him. He'd mostly left him alone for the first couple of days. But his concern grows and he seeks him out.

When he finds him, he walks over and makes a soft noise, reaching out to touch his leg. Are you okay, Dad?

Friends!

The past month had been a lot for everyone. Grogu might not be able to talk to people like others. At least, not in a way that most could understand, but he still wants to make sure his friends are okay. It just takes him longer to get to people... he's got little legs! If you're a friend, he's going to try to seek you out somewhere! At some point, a little green Jedi will come walking over, looking up with his giant eyes to see if you're okay.

Out and about

Other than checking in with people, he's going to be spending his time either chilling at the Deep End watching (and occasionally eating) the fish, trying to help with cleaning the Jedi Temple in progress, meditating by the fountain, or chasing some small critter... possibly to eat it.

Uh, who's rude now?? Cayde snorts. "A-ti-tude!" He still seems amused, over-all.

Grinning as the little one comes over to see, the Exo stoops down to carefully unwrap the top of the bundle. It's a neon sign, its colors only a faint suggestion since it's not lit up, the outline of a drink glass in blue with a white spade mark hooked over its rim. 'The Deep End' is spelled out in red Aurebesh that encircles half of it.

Cayde smiles. "Whaddya think? Of course, it'll look better once it's plugged in."

Yup. Always.

He nods, his ears raised as he looks it over. It's going to look great! He looks over a the wall, then back to the sign. How are you going to hang it up?

"Uuuuh... Well I found some hooks. Just a matter of making holes in the wall. Aaand wiring it in. I am foreseeing holes in walls, either way." Cayde had figured the getting it to light up would be the most work. "Not sure if we'd have to convert anything- ooh! Maybe if we had a battery pack? ...mmmnaah, better if we just have it directly hooked up to the power."

He gestures at the mark he'd made on the wall earlier. "You think it'd look good there?"

Good thing you're talking to the littlest engineer! He makes his way over and looks the sign over, picking up any wires and thinking before looking up at the wall. It might be tricky, but it could be done.

Finally, he turns and nods. Yes. Yes it would look good there and yes it would be better to hook it up to power.

Does Cayde know the kid's an engineer? Nope! He watches amusedly as the little guy pokes around at things like he knows what he's doing. Although ever since that weird city trip from last month, he has to wonder just how much the kid knows and understands about things.

When Grogu looks over at him and nods, the Exo grins. Well, that's good enough of a confirmation for him, in regards to this side-project!

"Great! Now I just gotta find something to make some holes."

The kid knows a lot, okay! He just... can't articulate it, yet. But he'll get there... eventually.

Something to make holes? A drill, Cayde. That's what drills are for.

Don't you sass him, kid, he knows what a drill is! At the look, Cayde gives him one right back, setting his fists on his hips, his jaw seeming to quirk just slightly that it lost the overall sternness.

"I know how, smarty-pants. You wouldn't happen to have the means hiding in a pocket would you?" he asks, metal brow lifting.

Grogu will always sass, Cayde. It's how he do.

He looks down at the few pouches on his belt - all empty but one. Looking back at Cayde, he blows a raspberry and shakes his head. No, don't be silly.

"Okay, okay! No need to be nasty about it, yeesh! Helmet not teaching you manners?"

Cayde puts his head to the wall, listening. "Probably going to need more than a drill to get to the electrical wiring though. Tell you what. I'll get things set up at some point, get a hole open once I figure out where about to put one, and you can come over and hook us up. Sound good?"

He giggles, smiling at Cayde. Really, dude, do you think Din has any control over his attitude?

He nods. That sounds like an excellent plan. He might know how to wire stuff now, but a drill might be a little tough.

The Exo grins, stooping down by the kid then as he extends a hand. "Great. We'll get this place lookin' like a bona fide bar in no time!"

A hand? What's he supposed to do with that? He looks at it for a moment before gingerly reaching out to touch his fingers.

Here kid, let him show you a thing. When Grogu reaches out, the Exo chuckles, gently moving to take that tiny hand between his fingers and thumb to give the carefullest of handshakes. "It's a deal."

He looks down. Huh. That's, uh, different. But okay. He looks up and nods. It's a deal.
