Djarin Enterprises
WHO: Din Djarin, ota
WHERE: Billy's hero city
WHAT: May event catchall?
WHEN: All of May?
WARNINGS: Will update as needed.
1. Djarin Tower - OTA
While SI was known for it's high tech, and other things. In the business world, Djarin Enterprises was know for being a military defense contractor. But it's also known for having a good influence in plenty of other areas as well. The tower, being one of the tallest buildings in the city, was a busy place on most days. Usually run by Luscius Fox, most of the tower's floors are made up of offices that run the various branches of the conglomerate. However, there are plenty of public areas as well. Including a fine dining restaurant with large windows that look out over the city, and an open air deck on one of the higher floors. For those that can brave the heights. There's regular tours through out the day for tourists and the like. And in the lobby, there's friendly greeters, and receptionists ready and willing to help.
And of course there's the head of the whole place, Din Djarin himself. He's mysterious, and not seen often in public. But can sometimes be caught checking in on things around the tower. Usually dressed well in a suit and tie, and to keep up the mystery he's usually also sporting a hat and dark sunglasses, even indoors. That work together to hide most of his face from view. But you can also catch him if you're here on business, perhaps something that couldn't just be dealt with by going through Luscius. Whatever the encounter, despite his looks, Din will be courteous and civil with those that deal with him. If you get real lucky, he might even have his son with him.
2. Interview with the mysterious - Closed to Cobb
At the top of the tower of course, was Din Djarin's private residence. Outside of those who live there, the penthouse is cut off from the public. Only accessible to those allowed, or who have the access codes. Inside is spacious, with a comfortable living room, and kitchen. There's a large play room for his son, Grogu, that any kid would love to have, as well as his own bedroom, and quarters for his close friend and butler. Here, among family, Din goes without the hat and sunglasses. It's his sanctuary, to get away from the busy business, and vigilante, double life that he lived. Still this afternoon, he's expecting a visitor, one of the few he allows up here at all.
"Just a reminder, sir. You have an interview with Cobb Vanth at six-o'clock." Alfred, his friend and butler, helpfully reminded him, making him sigh quietly.
"Thank you, Alfred. Tell reception to notify us when he arrives." Cobb Vanth, one of the few reporters in the city that Din actually liked, and let interview him at all.
"Of course, sir. Will there be anything else?"
"Yeah, brew up some of our best coffee toward the end of the interview." Alfred nodded in acknowledgement, and walked off, leaving Din on his own for the time being.

Din had been lifting a gloved hand to touch Cobb's arm when the question is asked. Even if it was a joke, there's a brief stall in the hand, before he manages to recover and uses a chuckle in attempt to cover it, as the hand finally lands on the arm.
"Would you settle for coffee instead?" It won't magically heal the bruise like a kiss. But it'll be a nice pick me up. "Asked Alfred to brew some for us."
no subject
He gripped Din's arm in return gently to reassure him. It wasn't often Din reached out so he appreciated the gesture.
"You know me, I always want coffee." Technically, Cobb was in an unfamiliar place. One he shouldn't know the layout of so he kept his cane out even though he could easily navigate.
"How's business? Heard you had a big deal that you're keeping quiet so it doesn't fall through." Because Cobb was very good at hearing things he shouldn't.

With Cobb, it was different, felt different. He can't quite recall when they became this comfortable around each other. It just happened, with neither of them really acknowledging it. He won't deny that Cobb is a handsome man, and if If Din's honest, part of him was tempted to kiss the other man's bruised cheek. The line of keeping it professional was one that is getting harder to hold. He knew something would have to give at some point.
"It'll be ready, then. How are your own kids doing? Better than their father I hope?" He gives Cobb's arm a gentle squeeze in return, before turning to carefully guide the man further in to the living room, and a place to sit. Then the tone of convo turns back to business, and despite the change the question still get a slight chuckle out of him.
"Been snooping around again, huh?" Seemed like Cobb always heard things, despite Din's best attempts to keep them under wraps. "It's going well, with luck it should be finalizing within the month." But there's always unexpected delays that can come up.

Din's one of the few people who knows how to properly guide him. Cobb had given him instructions on how to do it the first time the man had offered help like this. Now, it was a nice way to get Din's hands on him. Warm, strong, and steady hands.
He sat down when he reached the chair and now folded up his cane, setting it aside. He got out his phone. "Start sound recording."
Cobb used to keep notes with an old fashion tape recorder but smart phones were much easier. "Not doin' my job if I'm not snooping around. I like to know what you're up to. See what break works are going to come out of your business next. Not going to give me even the littlest hint of what's coming?"
Which wasn't unusual for Din. He played his cards real close to his chest. Cobb had to listen extra well to what he didn't say between the words.
IDK what I'm doing /wings it.
Once Cobb is safely settled, Din moves to the chair nearby and sits down. Despite the relaxed setting, compared to most interviews. Din is all business as it really starts.
"And ruin the surprise?" While some people would outright brag about thing, and give progress updates. Din preferred to keep things under wraps, incase their are issues and in case anyone wanted to steal ideas. "I assure you, this project will benefit a lot of people.
My life motto
Always would be given his friendship with Din. He thought that way of treating Grogu had helped that friendship blossom.
He chuckled a little, used to Din's way of avoiding his questions. "What sort of benefit? Another homeless shelter? A community college? Come on, Din, give me a little hint. I won't reveal anything until you give me the go ahead."
There were very few people Cobb would hold a story back for but he'd do it for Din.
/just makes crap up.
He hummed thoughtfully for a moment.
"Alright, I know you'll keep your word." Over the years, another thing that's grown between them is trust. He knows he can trust Cobb , that the man won't try and make him into a bad light, like some other reporters might be tempted. Or reveal anything too early. "It'll be an education system geared toward the homeless, and underprivileged. Help them toward a better life." Cause despite being a billionaire, Din liked to look out for the people that aren't so fortunate.

He was a strange recluse and odd about being in the public eye but that wealth wasn't obsessively hoarded. It was used for good.
"Sounds like a good project to keep you out of trouble," he said with a little grin. "I'll make sure to come to the grand opening when it's ready. Write up a nice in depth story for you instead of a fluff everyone else will do."
Because he could still be critical of Din without being cruel. "Where'd you get the idea for this?"
no subject
"People shouldn't have to lack in education and a good life, just because of their financial situation." And a good education, would go a long way in helping them find work, thus a better life. "I trust that you will." Cobb always gave good reports, on the things he got from Din. Unlike many reporters, who preferred to only write gushing article on what he does.
"Despite what some people might think, I do see what goes on in this city." Maybe possibly helped with his Hunter persona. "Despite how well the city is doing, I still see a lot of homeless, and people that struggle."

One man, even one incredibly wealthy man like Din, couldn't fix the core issue on his own. Cobb thought the guy was pretty great but he was a realist.
"And I know you pretty well by now. You've always got a plan. I know you're thinking long term." Cobb felt now that they were friends they had a way of understanding each other. His gut when it came to Din said the man was already thinking of step two.
"Although, I've heard you wear sunglasses even at night. Might be a little skeptical about how well you see anything," he teased, always willing to get a little jab in here and there.
no subject
"The plan at the moment is to create the one, and go from there. But more centers are likely." He's quiet for a moment of consideration before he speaks again. "I'm not a fan of politics, no." As much as there's likely been people over the years, that thought he should get into it. That he'd be great at it. It's just not his thing. "However, to solve this issue for the long term, politics, the government, are going to have to be brought in eventually."
no subject
"Until then, I trust you and your people to handle it. When the government does get involved I might not be so nice." Cobb had a long history of causing trouble with the government. He went to protests and rallies and wrote very critical articles of their actions.
He was pretty sure he was on an FBI watch list. And damn proud of it.
no subject
"You don't want the breaking exclusive?" He can't resist being a little sassy. He's well aware of Cobb's history with the government as a reporter. "No, but. My people and I have already worked out plans, for going forward. You don't do well in business, without having a lot of...contingencies." Something Din learned well over the years. "For I do want to see the less fortunate people of the city have a successful, and fulfilling life."
no subject
Wondering if maybe it was true and Cobb was flirting up the wrong tree. "Gotta say, you can do better."
Of course, he wanted the exclusive. He was a reporter. They all wanted exclusives. "You know, from any other business man I would think that's a bunch of bull. The way you say it, what I hear, is something real. Real concern. Real warmth for those people. This isn't just a tax break for you. It's a real effort to rebuild a community."
no subject
There's a thoughtful noise. "I don't know. Stark and I could be an unstoppable couple." He's teasing, cause some already think they're unstoppable just as business partners. "But I will go on record, and say no. Me and Stark are not dating." Sorry to disappoint, Twitter.
"I have the money to pay the taxes. I don't need a break." He says firmly, and means every word. "I would rather others have the break, and I want to help them get there."
no subject
"I don't think he's your type. I trust Stark with technology but I wouldn't let him babysit, you know?" He couldn't see Tony raising a kid, not like Din. Not like him. The man was still too wild even at his age. "Gotta find someone good with kids. A family man."
Like him. Would Din get the hint? Cobb had no way of knowing, actually. He flirted a little bit, here and there. Never seemed to get anywhere, but he wondered.
"Oh, that line is definitely getting quoted in the article. It's a good one."
