Djarin Enterprises

WHO: Din Djarin, ota
WHERE: Billy's hero city
WHAT: May event catchall?
WHEN: All of May?
WARNINGS: Will update as needed.

1. Djarin Tower - OTA

While SI was known for it's high tech, and other things. In the business world, Djarin Enterprises was know for being a military defense contractor. But it's also known for having a good influence in plenty of other areas as well. The tower, being one of the tallest buildings in the city, was a busy place on most days. Usually run by Luscius Fox, most of the tower's floors are made up of offices that run the various branches of the conglomerate. However, there are plenty of public areas as well. Including a fine dining restaurant with large windows that look out over the city, and an open air deck on one of the higher floors. For those that can brave the heights. There's regular tours through out the day for tourists and the like. And in the lobby, there's friendly greeters, and receptionists ready and willing to help.

And of course there's the head of the whole place, Din Djarin himself. He's mysterious, and not seen often in public. But can sometimes be caught checking in on things around the tower. Usually dressed well in a suit and tie, and to keep up the mystery he's usually also sporting a hat and dark sunglasses, even indoors. That work together to hide most of his face from view. But you can also catch him if you're here on business, perhaps something that couldn't just be dealt with by going through Luscius. Whatever the encounter, despite his looks, Din will be courteous and civil with those that deal with him. If you get real lucky, he might even have his son with him.

2. Interview with the mysterious - Closed to Cobb

At the top of the tower of course, was Din Djarin's private residence. Outside of those who live there, the penthouse is cut off from the public. Only accessible to those allowed, or who have the access codes. Inside is spacious, with a comfortable living room, and kitchen. There's a large play room for his son, Grogu, that any kid would love to have, as well as his own bedroom, and quarters for his close friend and butler. Here, among family, Din goes without the hat and sunglasses. It's his sanctuary, to get away from the busy business, and vigilante, double life that he lived. Still this afternoon, he's expecting a visitor, one of the few he allows up here at all.

"Just a reminder, sir. You have an interview with Cobb Vanth at six-o'clock." Alfred, his friend and butler, helpfully reminded him, making him sigh quietly.

"Thank you, Alfred. Tell reception to notify us when he arrives." Cobb Vanth, one of the few reporters in the city that Din actually liked, and let interview him at all.

"Of course, sir. Will there be anything else?"

"Yeah, brew up some of our best coffee toward the end of the interview." Alfred nodded in acknowledgement, and walked off, leaving Din on his own for the time being.

Director Starling's intel had told her that if there was anywhere she was likely to get a chance at speaking one-on-one with Din Djarin, it would be at his offices. They'd been monitoring his activities for a few months, and she had more than enough suspicions to fill a mop bucket about him. But the real reason she was there was The Kid.

SHIELD had been dealing with extraterrestrial investigations and innovations ever since the first hints of it had arrived ... at first, there had been cover-ups, true, but now that more and more things were coming to light, Starling came to her new position as Director perfectly ready to be more about transparency as much as she could. And she saw in this Kid a potential that could do the world a great deal of good. The true feat, of course, would be convincing his surrogate father of the same.

She'd forgone her badge of office and kept her ID tucked away, but knew that Djarin had provided one or two contracts to outlying branches of SHIELD in the past - mostly for building and outfitting a couple of their helicarriers. So it was under the guise of that business that she approached reception and announced the arrangement for a meeting that had been made a ludicrous amount of time in advance.

"Clarice Starling, here to see Mr. Djarin."

She was dressed neatly: a pressed pencil skirt and matching jacket the color of summer pine needles with a buttercup-yellow camisole underneath. A string of gold and tiger's eye beads hung at her throat, with matching drop earrings, and her heels matched her bag in a tasteful, non-ostentatious way. She gave him her best For Public smile.

"Thank you, Mr. Djarin. I must say, I'm honored to get some facetime with you personally. I know you're used to dealing with a completely different contact for the SHIELD contracts: he sends his apologies for not being able to make it, he's involved with another project elsewhere and can't leave the think tank."

The gloves-and-glasses combo tell Starling this guy has more issues than just privacy - maybe intimacy, as well. Maybe it was the wealth and fame that made him want to keep everyone at such a distance, maybe it was something else. Either way, she wasn't about to judge him for it: all of her keen-eyed observations she made of civilians were for understanding and being compassionate, not for any sort of ill use. They were very nice gloves, though, the leather smooth and supple between her fingers, and she made a mental note to ask what sort they were so she could get a pair of driving gloves for herself from the same maker.

"He is, I've worked with him for quite a while. In some arenas I even consider him a little bit of a mentor. ... Either way, the helicarriers you helped us outfit are being phased out for newer models, so instead of sending some intern with the specs, I thought it would be nice to deliver them personally. We're outfitting these ones with a bit more altitude capacity, but we also need to have certain quarters outfitted with environmental accommodations for some of our ... physically unique agents."

Mutants. Of course, she meant mutants.
