[There's a bunch of static and a blurry screen before it becomes fully focused on a young man dressed in an olive grey military uniform. There's a soft exclamation of "Oh, it's finally working." He clears his throat before focusing his gave on the communicator. When he speaks its in a heavy accent similar to a southern one and is in a soft but firm voice.]

Hello, I'm Lieutenant Eli Vanto. I've served under the Imperial Navy for 15 plus years. Most of my job being data analysis when we weren't chasing after pirates.

Now that we seem to have a way to communicate with each other, I was hoping to gather as much intel as possible on what all of you have discovered here.

We don't know a lot about our hosts and I was hoping that with the information provided it could put together a few pieces and give us a bigger outlook of the whole picture. The information you are able to be provide can be simple as the color choices they use, patterns, symbols, how they speak, what materials the buildings were made from and the condition, how the power plant was operated, etc. On a side note, I also wouldn't mind compiling a list of vegetation that's edible and what is considered toxic. I appreciate the information and help.

[He then ends the feed.]

Sir, I'm afraid to report that we will not be on the same ship when we depart. I am a little anxious over this news. I only hope the crew you are with are able to respect you.

However, I am glad we are still able to communicate. I'll be checking in regularly. Don't be a stranger. This isn't the Ascendancy.

Yes. He is... Something, certainly. Surly, gruff, about as cuddly as a rancor with a rash, and yet probably one of my best friends.

[There's such a fond tone there. He's doing nothing to hide it, either.]

My crew was comprised of several unique personalities. Each and every one of them liked to argue with me, too.

[Not something a normal Sith would allow, he supposes. But it just worked for them, and he would have it no other way.]

Friends argue, and friends banter. Sometimes there is purpose and friendship grows deeper, sometimes there are misunderstandings and hurt feelings that must be soothed once tempers have cooled.

[He didn't have many friends before becoming Sith, but he's learned a great deal, ever since.]

And I, like your Grand Admiral, am of the opinion that one should speak what's on one's mind, and share ideas, even though they may be unorthodox. A leader is not infallible, and should look to those under their command when necessary.

[The leader should always have the last say, of course, but Altair knows the value in hearing other people's thoughts.] One of the Moffs under my command is of that same opinion, as well. Moff Valion Pyron. I think you'd like him.

Moff Pyron wasn't like that at all, so there are exceptions...

[He pauses, thinking about what to say.]

When I was only a Lord of the Sith, there was a Darth called Thanaton who very much would like for me to die. He challenged me to something called a Kaggath- a fight until death, basically.

[Or until one Sith lost, but losing meant death, or worse, after all.]

Moff Pyron came to me with an offer- I help him retrieve something he needed, and he would throw himself and his fleet behind me. He could have backed out of that promise. He could have simply taken what he needed, and left the stupid alien to fend for himself. But he didn't. And it's partly because of him that I survived my little spat with Darth Thanaton.

[Softly, and seemingly to himself, he adds,] Too bad about Thanaton, really...

[But back to the topic on hand--] Moff Pyron is one of my most loyal subjects. Or was before I ended up here.
