[There's a bunch of static and a blurry screen before it becomes fully focused on a young man dressed in an olive grey military uniform. There's a soft exclamation of "Oh, it's finally working." He clears his throat before focusing his gave on the communicator. When he speaks its in a heavy accent similar to a southern one and is in a soft but firm voice.]
Hello, I'm Lieutenant Eli Vanto. I've served under the Imperial Navy for 15 plus years. Most of my job being data analysis when we weren't chasing after pirates.
Now that we seem to have a way to communicate with each other, I was hoping to gather as much intel as possible on what all of you have discovered here.
We don't know a lot about our hosts and I was hoping that with the information provided it could put together a few pieces and give us a bigger outlook of the whole picture. The information you are able to be provide can be simple as the color choices they use, patterns, symbols, how they speak, what materials the buildings were made from and the condition, how the power plant was operated, etc. On a side note, I also wouldn't mind compiling a list of vegetation that's edible and what is considered toxic. I appreciate the information and help.
[He then ends the feed.]
Sir, I'm afraid to report that we will not be on the same ship when we depart. I am a little anxious over this news. I only hope the crew you are with are able to respect you.
However, I am glad we are still able to communicate. I'll be checking in regularly. Don't be a stranger. This isn't the Ascendancy.

I am capable of looking after myself, Vanto.
[ Except when he forgets to eat. ]
I will not be in a position of command, though. I doubt there will be much in the way of 'respect' given the situation we are in.
Re: Private
[He can't help but frown and show some disappointment.]
As for respect I was referring to simply respecting you as a person not because of military status. I don't know the people here to gauge how they would react to your presence. I can only hope that they react better then the Imperial Navy had.
Private
I have little use for a translator here.
[ There's a thoughtful pause as Thrawn considers. ]
It would be more accurate to say 'allies'.
[ 'Friends' is a foreign word to Thrawn since he's only got the one. ]
Private
So now that I'm with the Chiss Ascendancy and there is no military here my services are no longer required?
I thought there was more to us then the military...either military. When all I was wanting to do was check on you as a friend. But I suppose you still don't understand that concept either?
Good luck with your new crew and ship.
[Ends feed.]
