The first days after they arrived back from Coruscant, Obi-Wan was busy. The Jedi essentially hitting the ground running now that he’s been energized by his vacation back home. The first priority was making sure Padme and the twins were comfortable. Then came the task of finding an appropriate place in Temba for a temple.

Before the impromptu trip to Coruscant someone had suggested the amphitheater. However upon looking it over the Jedi decided it didn’t suit the purposes that were needed. So he kept looking. Though he didn’t have to look far as he came across a cluster of buildings that seemed to be a museum complex. After looking over the overgrown and run down grounds he decided that it would be perfect. It would just need some cleaning up and repurposing.

Thus a call is put out on the network. Asking for help in setting up this new home for the Jedi if anyone is willing. Those with the engineering data points would be especially appreciated, as would the advice of those with agriculture for setting up a garden. But really any free hands would do with the promise of the favor being returned down the road.

The time didn’t matter as Obi-Wan will be working on it all month. Cleaning out the buildings and their exhibits. Pieces of artifacts carefully picked up and put away for later sorting and hopefully reassembly. One of the smaller buildings being converted into a holding place for animals and/or potential vehicles. The other intended for living spaces. The largest building was a grand hall and Obi-Wan intended this to be the main structure for learning, sparring, meeting, and whatever else they could use it for. Last but not least the smallest, yet very tall building with a large platform inside was to be made into a place of meditation.

There is a lot to be done and more hands make light work!

Ezra tries not to loom or stare too much- his baseline for artists at work is Sabine, who could get tetchy about being watched - but he is curious and comes close enough to catch a glimpse.

"Oh, hey, way fancier than what I've managed to do so far," he says, delighted by the detailing.

Padme doesn't mind being watched. Art in Naboo is something to be shared and appreciated by all, after all.

She looks up when he speaks, smiling. "Thank you. I'm not as good as my friend Sabe. She could carve vines that would look positively alive." Straightening, she smooths a stray hair back from her face. "I can't do much of the work needed here, so I thought I'd make the space a little more beautiful."

"It was Sabine who was awesome at this sort thing in my circle. Although her specialities were murals and also armor - Mandalorian. She and Rex got a little competitive about repainting the helmets I collected," he adds, but then mentally backs up.

"But this looks nice. And I hope you're not worried that you're not doing enough? Twin newborns is...a lot."

"Rex?" Her eyebrows raise. Anakin had spoken very highly of Rex. Could it be the same person? "Commander Rex? The Clone Trooper?" She's quite curious. It would be wonderful to know be survived.

She smiles, ducking her head a little. "I'm trying not to be. I'm unaccustomed to being limited by anything other than the mandates of my position... Or the instructions of my guard."

"He always said captain. Why would he-" He pauses, confusion, then a split second of deep thought, and then dawning understanding all flickering over his face in quick succession.

"Because Ahsoka was commander of the 501st for most the war, wasn't she?" Padawans were commanders and Knights and Masters were Generals. He's worked out that much. Now he can't help but wonder if Rex's refusal to call himself commander was the clone trooper's private commentary of whatever the story was behind Ahsoka leaving the Jedi Order.

Or maybe he just liked the sound of it more. Hard to know.

"Ahsoka was, yes. I'm glad to hear Rex survived the war. I've heard nothing but good things about him." Which says a lot, since he was one of millions of clones.

"I admit I only have limited knowledge of the war. I was primarily focused on finding peace and saving planets." She gives him a small smile. Priorities.

"Ahsoka and Rex have done a lot for the Rebel Alliance. And for me," he gives her a shy smile back.

"You were...a Senator, right?"

"I'm pleased to hear that." She's not surprised to hear Ahsoka is a rebel. Though she's still getting used to the idea that in this case the rebellion is a good thing.

"Yes, I was." She nods.

"I'm not sure how to ask what I want to ask," he says, sheepishly.

"But that means you've done a lot of...um. Writing. And formal speaking. Negotiation. Right?"

She smiles patiently. She has no intention of rushing him to his question. He can take his time to formulate it.

"Yes, that's correct. Though I admit that I was thrust into the role of negotiator during the war."

"Right. And if I'd grown up in the Temple, I probably would have learned at least a little about that sort of thing, even if I wasn't going to be the diplomacy sort of Jedi. But I didn't."

He shrugs very awkwardly. "I don't have much of a regular education, either. Outer Rim orphan. I can fly, fight, keep a ship running if nothing major blows out, and use the Force. I mean, I can read and write, I learned that before the Empire took my parents away. But - for example-" He sighs. "I reached out to Kyle and we had a good talk over comm about what he said in the meeting. But I'm pretty sure with a lot of people something written would have gone over better. I know that, but I don't know how to...do it."

She listens, giving him her full attention as he speaks. It means a lot to her that he's coming to her with this. She barely knows him, though he knows much about her. That's still a strange feeling for her.

Smiling, she nods. "I'm glad you and Kyle spoke. He seems like a good person and his concerns are valid. I think emotions were running high and that made things difficult in the moment." She pauses for a moment before continuing, "I think I understand. Knowing how to read and write is one thing, but knowing how to convey all of your thoughts and feelings in writing so others can properly understand them is another. I'd be happy to help you, if you'd like."
