A New Home
WHO: Obi-Wan Kenobi and YOU
WHERE: The Museum aka The New Jedi Temple
WHAT: Making a new temple for the Jedi!
WHEN: All of April
WARNINGS: None atm
The first days after they arrived back from Coruscant, Obi-Wan was busy. The Jedi essentially hitting the ground running now that he’s been energized by his vacation back home. The first priority was making sure Padme and the twins were comfortable. Then came the task of finding an appropriate place in Temba for a temple.
Before the impromptu trip to Coruscant someone had suggested the amphitheater. However upon looking it over the Jedi decided it didn’t suit the purposes that were needed. So he kept looking. Though he didn’t have to look far as he came across a cluster of buildings that seemed to be a museum complex. After looking over the overgrown and run down grounds he decided that it would be perfect. It would just need some cleaning up and repurposing.
Thus a call is put out on the network. Asking for help in setting up this new home for the Jedi if anyone is willing. Those with the engineering data points would be especially appreciated, as would the advice of those with agriculture for setting up a garden. But really any free hands would do with the promise of the favor being returned down the road.
The time didn’t matter as Obi-Wan will be working on it all month. Cleaning out the buildings and their exhibits. Pieces of artifacts carefully picked up and put away for later sorting and hopefully reassembly. One of the smaller buildings being converted into a holding place for animals and/or potential vehicles. The other intended for living spaces. The largest building was a grand hall and Obi-Wan intended this to be the main structure for learning, sparring, meeting, and whatever else they could use it for. Last but not least the smallest, yet very tall building with a large platform inside was to be made into a place of meditation.
There is a lot to be done and more hands make light work!
((OOC: Feel free to consider this a mingle thread! Obi-Wan isn’t the only Jedi around but I’ll throw him at anyone unless specified otherwise.))

That's a warning tone for the little Tooka as Echo takes a second to make sure she isn't getting too carried away in bothering the Varactyl. He chuckles, however, then looking back over to where Ezra is still figuring out the stall situation.
"Everything okay over there? You've been quiet."
no subject
He steps back from measuring materials out with rope as a make shift ruler.
"I don't think I've thanked you for helping out with all this, So, thanks, Echo."
no subject
He crouches to get a better look at one side, resting one arm across his knee. "Any time, Ezra," he replies. "You were busy and I just happened to have free time on my hands. Couldn't have been a better setup."

"A forward base for exploration, or was there some other purpose you had in mind?"

"I agree. You never know what's out there," Echo replies, the helmet inclining in Ezra's direction. "But what are you searching for?"
no subject
"I don't really know. There has to be something that changed on this planet to bring the storms and other...oddities. And some sort of clue as to what."
no subject
no subject
"Because I didn't want to seem like I was trying to control how it went." He cocks his head. "Maybe I ask someone else to call the next one, and they can just say that's the focus?"
no subject
Although it would be easier if everyone was a natural at doing so.
"I'm sorry I missed it in the first place," he adds, resting his hands on his hips. "That being said, while it's good to appoint someone to manage these things, sometimes you need to be the one to move it in the right direction." The helmet looks to Ezra. "Was everyone thinking they were in charge at the time?"
no subject
"There was, uh, some concern about the very idea that anyone needed to be 'in charge'. Also, um, some pretty pointed things said about... well, since there's so many of us from one galaxy we might apply pressure for the rest to fall in line."
Hence the thought that maybe he should ask someone else to be the point person for the next meeting. Jon, maybe. Everyone knew Jon had an interest in collecting information.
no subject
Midway through the thought, he stops to think about it, pressing a gloved hand against the edge of his helmet. Ezra is right: there are a good number of them from the same galaxy. And not many of them are in conflict with each other, but their differences are still present.
"...Well. Several of you would be able give a different perspective, at least." he frowns. The timeline and their original factions aren't helping. "But wouldn't the same apply to anyone else if they also had a collective?"
no subject
He frowns. "And there something Kyle said about the Jedi in particular trying to tell people what to do? That seemed to be a concern. Nothing came to blows; it wasn't really even yelling. But it did sort of knock the wind out of the meeting into a tail spin a little."
no subject
But oh, Kyle. He's hung out with this kid. He likes him, and he can begin to understand how he jumped to such a conclusion. "The Jedi aren't like that," he exhales, trying to keep his tone even-tempered. "I may be a clone, but I know they aren't the type to throw their weight around. You included."
Shaking his head, the ARC Trooper takes a step closer to Ezra, loosely balling his hand into a fist so he can gently tap the padawan on the arm. "I'm sorry it ended up as it did, but you at least tried to pull it together."
no subject
"The Jedi were you commanding officers," he points out. "And you still say that?"
no subject
One one hand, his tone embodies the bright confidence many clone troopers have for their Generals and Commanders. On the other, it falters during the pause, that unspoken uncertainty firmly pushed away before continuing.
"General Skywalker was always on the front lines with his men. General Kenobi did the same. They supported us just as much as we did them."
no subject
Ezra decides he's not going to be the one to tell him, either. He swallows.
"I'm sure they tried their best." He's still got questions about the relationship between the Order and clone troopers, but Master Kenobi, or maybe even Padme, is probably the person to ask them. "And I'm gona try to live up to the best of their example."
He hasn't always, he knows. He had thrown his weight around at times, in that bad period after Malachor, and been slapped down with a demotion back down to lieutenant for a while.
no subject
However, the hope of things turning around isn't lost; Ezra is young, but he's doing whatever he can within his power to help and fix things. And the clone's been in that kind of a position before more or less, eager to get out on the field to fight for the Republic. To make things better.
It makes him smile a little. "Shows you're still open to learning. And with that kind of an attitude, you're well on your way."
