Well, I don't know about you folks but now that we're back I'm done livin' on ships.
[ A slightly ironic statement to make since Cobb is clearly sitting outside the hangar. ]
So, I'm doin' somethin' about it. I've told a few of you my plans but this is for everyone else that hasn't heard. I'm gonna move out of the First Breath and fix up a house. One somewhere I can pen up some glownies and start ranching them for food and wool. Then I'm gonna fix up the house next door and whoever wants it can have it.
And then move on to the next. And the next. If you want a house somewhere else from where I end up, I'd be willin' to help out there as well.
[ There's a good amount of determination in his tone. Cobb's very clearly done with being a spacer. Stupid pipes everywhere on the First Breath. ]
If you wanna help out, I'd appreciate that but you don't have to. I took that Engineering data point so I understand how to do the work. I could try and teach folks who don't know construction but wanna help. I got tools and figure I'll salvage what I can from houses that aren't worth saving.
We got the bare bones of a town here. Might as well make an effort to build something from it.

See you soon, Mando. [ It's always Mando when he's not sure if others are around. He'll just wait for Din outside the hangar. ]

True to his word, it's not too long before he and the blurrg are arriving at the hangar. He nods to Cobb in greeting as he pulls the beast to a stop nearby, and dismounts.]
no subject
[ He nods to the blurrg. It looks healthy and still strong. Cobb figures they can drape a few things on him without a problem. Since Cobb's first plan was to carry himself himself, he's glad for this help. ]
You wanna hold it steady? [ He rolls up his sleeves of shirt to his biceps. ] Just in case it doesn't like the extra weight?
[ He ducks into the hangar and after a minute comes out with two large bags of flour on his shoulders. They're nothing compared to the mining hauls he used to carry, the muscles in his shoulders and arms flexing to keep them balanced. ] Pretty sure we can drape these and then rope 'em down.
no subject
I'll keep it steady. [He nods, and there's a slight tilt of his helm as he watches him walk off into the hangar with those sleeves rolled up. Nope, he's distracting himself by making sure the straps of the saddle are still secure. At least until he hears Cobb speak up again.
And well, he's glad for the helmet, that hides the slight flush to his face as he takes in the long lean body, and those muscled arms carrying those sacks. It takes him a bit too long of staring, before he focuses again. Right, he's got a beast to control. He clears his throat before he speaks up.]
She should be able to handle them. [He says, grabbing one of the reigns, to keep the blurrg in place]

[ Unaware he's giving Din a crisis Cobb lifts one bag onto the blurgg's back and settles it, keeping a hand on it just in case she gets fussy like an elopi. ]
I figured she'd be good and strong. Almost a dewback, you know? [ He grins at Din. ] Maybe we should've gotten a few of those to match the banthas.
[ Once he doesn't think the flour will slide off he hucks the other one up there, carefully stacking them. He keeps an hand on them until she's comfortable with the weight. ]
Attagirl. Yeah, you're going to handle this real easy, aren't you? [ Cobb's voice is a rumble, full of affection and sweetness. ] Big, strong girl like you? It's no problem.

As the sack's tossed up onto the blurrg's back, Din tightens his hold on the reign, as the beast shifts it's body under the new weight for a moment before settling again.]
Fortunate she's here. Considering we have a wait on the bantha. [The bantha need to do some serious growing, before they can even use them. Din puts a hand on the beast's head, to keep it still when the second sack is hefted onto it's back. But the beast handles the second one better.
Which is good, because Cobb's still being a
n annoyingsexy distraction. Part of him wishes the blurrg would misbehave, to focus on something other than that voice. But it's not being a pal.]Yeah...she'll handle it fine. [There's a small sound that gets flattened by the vocoder as he speaks, and he grimaces under the helmet. He looks back into the hangar just for something else to focus on.] What else did you plan to take, this trip?
no subject
Cobb glances over at Din, a little curious. He's pretty sure he heard a hitch in the man's voice just then. Maybe a problem with the voicoder? His used to act up from time to time but it was more beat up than Din's.
Hm. Something to consider there. ]
Well. I've got some rope we can use to secure these and a few smaller bags. I've got an idea for next trip that'll let us take more. [ He rubs his hand along the blurgg's flank but he's looking at Din when he speaks. ] Stay right here, sweetheart.
[ Then he's off to get rope and a few more bags of dried goods. ]
no subject
The curious glance, gets a tilt of the helmet in return. Din's vocoder certainly shouldn't glitch, given it's newer than Cobb's was, and not been through a sarlaac pit. Then again, it's been through a dragon's stomach. The fingers of one gloved hand, drum on the head of the blurrg as he listens.
He shifts his weight, and is almost ready to respond and say they're not going anywhere. The 'sweetheart' making him pause. Wait. Was that directed at the blurrg, or him? But he was looking right at him when he said it. He can feel the flush creeping back in. Not trusting his voice to not betray him again, he manages just a nod in response.
Once Cobb goes into the hangar, and when he thinks the other man can't hear him. He let's out the breath he didn't realize he was holding, a soft inarticulate noise escaping him. There's a few deep breaths, as he tries to anchor himself before Cobb comes back. He's not some young teenager, he shouldn't be acting like this over just words.
And yet some part of him is liking it.]

Hard to say, again, because of that blank helmet looking back at him. Cobb wants to keep testing the waters, see if something more personal is welcome but it's going to take some time to figure out how to read Din's response.
He comes back out the hangar with a length of rope and a few more smaller sacks. ]
Caf. To share with everyone. Keepin' a sack of the good stuff for myself. A man's got to have his indulgences. Might share with a good friend though. [ Cobb winks at Din as he starts to rig the sacks together in what looks like a sling that he can throw over the blurgg's back. It's similar to something he'd use with a bantha just smaller. ]
Might also keep some spices for myself. But I'm gonna be helpin' with the diner when I've got the time. I know a few others are as well. [ When he finishes he pulls the whole rig up, muscles in his arms and shoulders flexing as he tosses it over the back of the blurgg behind the saddle. It lands a little harder than the first supplies and he puts a hand to steady everything. ]
no subject
Been a while, since I've had caf. [Does he expect to be the good friend Cobb meant? Hard to tell, but it really has been a while since he's drank caf. Usually he has tea, or something else. Plus he might be responding back a little.] I'll...have to try it sometime.
I saw Tommy's message about needing help. [He nods. He didn't offer since Tommy seemed to have plenty of volunteers already, plus he's not all that great at cooking. But before he can add anymore, the blurrg finally decides to act up. The hard landing of the sacks on it's back, has it jerking forward and to the side for a minute.]
Whoa. Easy...easy. [Din keeps a firm grip on the reign, and on the beasts head, as he gets the thing settled again, before looking up to see if anything fell.]

[ Cobb Vanth gets up with the sun but he is not a coherent human being until he got one cup of caf in him. Mornings on Temba had been rough so far. Cobb has pulled himself through with sheer determination and stubbornness.
But they won't get any caf anywhere if it falls to the ground. Cobb's honestly more worried about the flour which is necessary. He's quick to grab the load and hold it steady while the blurgg has her fit practically leaning against her side to keep it in place. ]
Come on, girl, calm down. You're a big brave girl, you can handle a few bags. [ He crooned to the blurgg again his voice pitched just a little lower. ] Attagirl, that's a good girl. Alright, so some sort of loading platform might be good if we can't get a cart built quickly.
