[Daytime hours. Echo, sans helmet but still suited up in his armor, wears a stern expression as he checks to see if the communication device is working. When he decides it is, he begins speaking, treating the situation as a soldier does.]
This is Echo. After all that's been happening the past few days and nights, we need to do a headcount to see if everyone's present an' accounted for.
As for our current situation, I'm assuming we don't really have emergency protocols and preparations in place for this kind of thing. Then again, who would've thought we'd be attacked by giant spiders almost every single night?
[If the clone's really being honest, he'd rather fight an army of droids right now.]
I guess it all boils down to taking care of ourselves while we have the break, but I feel like most of us are pretty capable when it comes to crises. Still, I'll be taking watch in the meantime. Just in case.
Contact me if you need any assistance.

Oh good. Well, I'll be here.
[And indeed he is, enjoying a drink as he takes stock of things, but at least it looks like the spiders have kept clear of this floor. He's so glad he's invested in fixing the doors.]

When he said he'd be right over, it takes a little longer than it originally should have. Way longer.
The first thing that comes through the doors is a gloved hand that clutches onto one side for support. The rest of the ARC Trooper then follows after, trudging into the bar to announce Echo's lackluster arrival, every movement slow and unsteady as he silently crosses the room and over to the counter.
In finding the closest stool, he sits. The blaster is hefted and laid out and off to one side. He then emits a low groan and slowly leans forward, letting his helmeted head rest against the counter's surface with a soft thunk.]

....
[Cayde looks down at the drink he's just poured, then slides the glass on over towards the Trooper's head.]
no subject
Give me... [One hand rises, index finger crooked in the air.] Give me a second.
no subject
Oh good. I did not look forward to having to figure out where to put a body, much less explain why there was one in my bar if someone else walked in here.
[He tilts his head then before leaning down to fish out another glass from below the counter to pour himself a new one.]
Okay, but I charge by the hour.
no subject
...Probably could've put me somewhere out back, no one checks there. [All joking aside, though.] So. We were talkin' explosives.
no subject
Yeesh, what happened to you? You get into a tussle with a boxing spider?
[No wonder the guy looked half-dead when he dragged himself in here. He snaps his fingers as Echo nudges them back on track.]
-right! Yes. Can never be too prepared around here.
[He steps away from the bar and goes to the back, returning with a crate of glass bottles filled with red liquid, strips of cloth sticking out of the tops.]
no subject
You certainly had the time.
[Echo then sniffs, wincing slightly.]
Eh...no. I kind of got into a row with one of ours. [He flexes his fingers, testing them out to see if they'll function normally.] I think.
no subject
[He picks up his glass once he's set the crate down, tossing the contents back.]
You think? How hard you get hit?
no subject
He was short, but he was a hell of a fighter. [Time to test his grip again, this time on the glass that Cayde slid over earlier.] Wouldn't let up even when I said to stand down.
no subject
[Echo doesn't seem like the sort to make someone mad, unless all that military protocol got in the way. Then maybe...yeah. Okay. Cayde can possibly see it.]
no subject
Me? I did nothing. [Cayde is onto something, but the clone mulls over the event, finally swallowing whatever is left before setting the glass down.] He was just...angry. Something was bothering him– driving him crazy. Something he couldn't shut out? In between punches he was holding his head, but that didn't stop him from tackling me to the ground and pulling off my bucket.
[He sighs, letting his shoulders drop slightly while slowly shaking his head.]
Things would've gone a lot differently if I didn't stun him.
no subject
...huh. So he's gone crazy.
[Something setting people off now, aside from drawing out giant arachnids? Cayde strokes his chin.]
Good call. Pretty sure people would be upset if you killed any one of ours around here. That's some interesting timing though... But I haven't heard anyone else saying people were going nuts lately.
no subject
Believe me, it wasn't great seeing him hit the ground. Figuring out what to do after that was also a problem.
But you'd think more people would report abnormalities. Unless everyone's been too busy on their own fronts to say so?
no subject
I think everyone's just been trying to prepare during the day for what happens at night. Days have been mostly quiet though. ...unless...
[He frowns in thought.]
no subject
...Unless?
no subject
...maybe there are things going on, and we just haven't been noticing as much as when we get overrun by multi-legged critters come nightfall.
no subject
How can we, with all of the activity?
[It's not exactly rhetorical, but he's not refuting the Exo's thought.]
no subject
We're too spread out when it's just us. You notice anything patrolling otherwise? We stick around to our boundaries. Have you checked in with anyone else?
no subject
He said he was in the shopping center in the basement level when they appeared the first night. That got him thinking they were coming from someplace further underground.
no subject
[Cayde pours himself another glass, glancing towards the water-filled window.]
no subject
[After another careful swig, he frowns at the glass. And then he looks back over at the crate of bottles.]
How much damage did you cause to those bugs? Think it'll have the same effect?
no subject
We've let our guards down, even when we thought we weren't.
[He tips back the second glass.]
They don't seem to like light. So I think it'll do nicely. And they're definitely not fire-proof.
[Not that much stood up to a shot from his Golden Gun.]
no subject
That's part of the plan, then: burn 'em without burning down everything else.
no subject
no subject
Yeah! Of course. We don't wanna be too reckless.
no subject
Exactly.
