Jedi Lost
WHO: Obi-Wan Kenobi and YOU
WHERE: Throughout Tembra
WHAT: A new arrival!
WHEN: Beginning of December
WARNINGS: None - Will update if needed.
It was a strange experience.
Obi-Wan Kenobi had recently moved into the little hut that he found abandoned near the Dune Sea on Tatooine. His Eopie had been munching on feed nearby while he fiddled with the broken down vaporator, trying to get it running again so that he would have a source of water. The twin suns beating down on him as he worked. It was miserable work, but it was necessary. The hood of his cloak pulled over his head to protect him from the suns and the blowing sand.
He had just put in a new part and was hooking it up when things suddenly changed. He found himself waking up in a strange place, surrounded by old crumbling buildings covered in overgrowth. A far cry for the beak desert planet he had just been on. In alarm he tried to get his bearings, confusion overwhelming and threatening panic which is managed to quell by releasing his feelings into the Force. It was then that he caught sight of a glowing orb, finding himself drawn to it.
After getting the mental download, things were clearer, but he was no more happy for it. He shouldn't be here. This wasn't his place. His destiny and purpose was to be on that force forsaken planet, looking after a young boy who was no more than a baby. Not in this strange place called Agra 10. He had to get back, yet he didn't know the first clue on how to do so. If he could just find out where he was exactly, find a ship, something, he could get back to Luke.
Not trusting the device that he found himself with, he tucked it away in his robe and began exploring the dilapidated city. His hood still pulled over his head as he snuck about and rummaged around. His senses on the alert for anything that might be perceived as a threat. Any sudden movement likely resulting in him whirling around and taking the defensive with lightsaber in hand or a force push for anything that got too close. He was on edge, suspicious of everything, expecting to be attacked.
In his explorations he eventually comes upon the hangar, hope filling him as he sees the grounded ships. Finally, something that looked promising! The Jedi making a dash for them, and finding that he could only access one which happened to open up for him when he came near. It was the Twin Roses. With the utmost caution he carefully stepped onto the ship, hoping not to run into anyone, and making his way to the cockpit.
((OOC: Feel free to run into him just about anywhere in the city! If you want to continue off a TDM thread I'm cool with that too!))

“Why not all of them? Surely all of the ships would benefit from having one.”
He then redirected his gaze to the bed that supposedly belonged to someone. The Jedi nodding his head in understanding.
“Very well. I assure you that I will respect her privacy.”
no subject
So yeah, sometimes you made do with what was actually available. Then he kept walking forward.
"Hope you like protein paste," he says, turning into the cafeteria.
no subject
"Protein paste? Well if it's comparable to ration bars or food capsules, I should be able to manage." This said as he followed Tommy into what he could only guess was the mess hall.
no subject
"There's not a lot of parts and stuff here to work with. We basically have to beg off of the Agrii and they don't always understand."
Ouch, this guy hadn't had a lot of good food if that was his comparison. As it was he moved to one of the dispensers.
"The flavors aren't the greatest. The chili one isn't half bad if you heat it up. And supposedly there is a way to make the chocolate one like ice cream, but I don't know how."
For now he gets himself a bowl of the chilli one and heats it up. Doesn't hurt to eat.
"This is the most plentiful food here. No one knows why. But it doesn't seem to have a limit."
no subject
"Chocolate? That's a bit of a novelty right there. It certainly beats catching and eating snakes." Which he's had to do a couple times on Tatooine already. So he is going to look at this with some optimism!
Getting his own bowl of the chilli flavored paste to try, Obi-Wan waits his turn and heats it up as well.
"A reliable food source is invaluable. I would say we're fortunate to have it. Though as for parts, that is certainly a problem if we hope to keep this ship running."
no subject
"Me and a few others try and run a diner while we're in the city. To make sure we get fresh food into us. It's not always easy to get meat for it, but we do our best."
no subject
"I heard about the diner, actually. Perhaps I can help with that."
He figures if there's one way of making friends, its to make yourself useful. They're all trying to survive here after all, and Obi-Wan wants to do his part in the matter.
no subject
"I think it would be good to have more hands to help. I've got a lot to do with helping Tony and managing the green house some and then of course the diner."
And everything else. But he doesn't sleep much, so that's just how life goes.
no subject
"Getting meat is what I was referring to. I was also considering helping in the hospital as well since I do have some healing abilities."
no subject
And Billy could use the helpl.
no subject
Though it seemed to him there were quite a few things others were not willing to do. No desire in creating hydroponics for other ships, and now no one wanting to hunt for their food. Perhaps they were satisfied with the protein paste.
“So I’ve heard. I look forward to meeting him. Perhaps he can teach me a few things.”
no subject
The hydroponics was an ability thing. But the hunting was... A pain.
"No one from my world has ever had to kill for their food. We're not used to it. As for me, I don't know how to butcher an animal. I don't want to hurt any, but of all of us, I'm... I'm adjusting. Helped catch a giant animal to trade to another people so they could butcher it and we could take some of their already preserved meat. But I could kill a lot of things with minimal pain for them."
no subject
“I understand,” he says softly. “My people respect all life, and thus we only take it when necessary.”
Survival was such an instance. Anything he would kill would be done mercifully and without waste.
no subject
"Well, you're here now, and survival is definitely something we need more practice in."
no subject
He then took a bite of his chili paste and paused as he gauged the taste of it.
“It’s not bad,” he decides a last. “The texture is a bit to be desired but certainly not the worst that I’ve had.”
no subject
Still, he's sad that the guy has had worse.
no subject
“So, tell me about yourself Tommy. Where is it that you come from?”
no subject
no subject
In which case he had to wonder why. Was there something special or unique about Earth and the people who live there? Meanwhile Obi-Wan is slower with his eating and remains polite and proper. A brow arching slightly as Tommy practically scarfs his down.
no subject
"Maybe they just like humans."
no subject
It was a bit strange considering he came from a galaxy with many different species.
“And yet where I’m from, humans don’t come from just one planet. So it surprises me that there are so many here from yours.”
no subject
Like Teddy for one. And Jon. Tommy. Billy. They all just looked it.
"Oh, I'm not human. I'm a mutant."
no subject
“A... mutant? I’m not sure I understand.” The confusion is evident in the voice. He knows if mutation, surely, but he’s never heard the term to label one’s species before.
no subject
He backs up from the table a bit, putting his empty bowl on the middle of it. Then he put a single finger against it. Once his finger starts vibrating, the table starts to shake, and the bowl starts to move. And of course, his hand is a blur.
"Similar, but still genetically different."
no subject
“Having abilities makes you something other than fully human?”
His brow is furrowed in further confusion.
“If that’s the case then I would be the same.”
