[ video ]
[ The video opens with Loki sitting on the remains of what likely was once the wall of a building, golden, horned helmet in his laps and leaning over it with his hands clasped and his forearms resting on said helmet.
Loki blinks twice. ]
Greetings.
[ A pause, then a short, seemingly a little flustered chuckle and he leans back out of his position a little before going on. ]
I have only met a few of you so far and so I- I thought it to be about time to introduce myself at last.
[ He leans back enough to give the helmet in his lap a pat with one of his hands. ]
I am Loki. And if your home realm is one of those that is familiar to this name by virtue of certain mythologies: Not that one. Though I may have inspired those tales in the version of Midgard I have come to know. But let's not dwell on that.
[ Offering a wide, friendly smile to the camera, Loki leans back forward, arms resting on the helmet once more. ]
Actually, I have already been here for some time now and I have made myself familiar with our situation and what is expected of us. Being Asgardian and adept at sorcery, I believe I may be of good use regarding our endeavor to aid our hosts. Though I also believe our goal could be achieved more effectively if we had the means to quickly move to other planets and back.
Which is what I want to propose to all of you here and today. My people have been traveling the galaxy freely for millennia, moving from one planet to the other in mere moments. The technology and magic behind it is relatively simple by Asgardian standards and I am convinced we can recreate it here. For this cause I would be interested to meet those of you proficient in magic as well as all skilled engineers interesting in taking on this task.

No, not too long. Did you walk? Do you need a drink?
[He reaches down to offer up a water bottle, one that didn't seem to be from this place at all.]
no subject
Well, of course I walked. Not all of us possess a magic hammer to fly around with.
[ Jealous? Him? Naaaaaw. You think of another Loki, surely. This Loki? Loves his brother! And will always lovingly stab him. ]
Thanks for the offer, I am fine. This city is not overly large and I quite enjoy the exploratory part of this little trip. So. You are Billy. [ Bows his head. ] It is my pleasure to meet you.

It would be handy, wouldn't it? [He seems to pull Mjolnir out of thin air, not the real thing, of course, but it looks pretty convincing. He gives it an idle twirl before disappearing it again.]
It's good to meet you again, Loki.
no subject
Handy, maybe. But at the same time not necessarily my style. I will leave loud and boisterous entrances to my brother.
no subject
See, that seems like something my Loki would say.

[ The Asgardian raises a brow at Billy. ]
Now. You appear to know plenty about myself, yet I hardly can claim the same about you.

Towards the end of it, however, Loki's expression lights up. ]
Oh! You mean the Loki you are familiar with does the Ragnarok-thing? I have read the Midgardian version of that tale and- To be honest? I felt a little hurt.

[Billy pulls out his phone and after a moment of searching pulls up a picture of the Loki in question, along with Billy, Teddy, and some other teens posing in a café booth, holding it up for Loki to see.]

[ It's not a question. It's an acknowledgement. And maybe Loki sounds a little intrigued? Maybe he's just very well familiar with this particular manner of shapeshifting.
He settles with a rather gentle smile. ]
At least none of that is as wild as the stories Midgardians have come up with... Is this actual rebirth you speak of, I wonder?
no subject
[He nods then, seeming sure.]
You were pretty dead. Like- dead dead. People don't stay dead a lot in these circles, to be fair, but- yeah, I'm pretty sure.
