Not that Raphael's buying that, but he says nothing, knowing Tony's the only one who's somehow keeping tabs of everything on the ship. Maybe he's a cyborg?
The man's push doesn't do much to move the turtle, but he hesitates for only a moment before nodding. "Got it. Don't die."
"It's not like I was unprepared," he growls under his breath. Truth be told, he likes being in action more than not. It isn't how he prefers it, the fight being brought to him, but he's more than capable of leveling opposition when it's necessary.
It looks like it's necessary now.
"The green child is Force sensitive," Ren tosses back. He doesn't have time to explain it but hopefully one of them will know what it means. If there's a child to live and a child to die, the green one needs to live over the other. "Take special care with him even if it means abandoning the other. You need him more."
He moves back to strap in, hand on his lightsaber and thumb impatient. If there's a fight, let there go ahead and be a fight. For now, though, there's just flying and waiting. He doesn't like the idea of leaving two scientists and two children unprotected but a frontal assault that bleeds the enemy dry would make a rear guard unnecessary. Still, it's not wise. He changes his mind.
"I hope the rest of you know how to fight because these two and those children don't. I'm staying with them."
Even if it means he has to protect the child himself - a Force sensitive was too rare not to leave guarded.
"Wow, what is wrong with you?!" Raphael blurts, screeching to such a sudden halt that the tattered ends of his bandanna go flipping past his face. "We're not abandoning either kid, okay?" He looks about ready to swat Ren upside the head if he reiterates otherwise.
When no further comment comes, the turtle turns to resume gathering the youngest of their group (so he thinks anyway). His demeanor's completely different with the children, soft-spoken and smiling, you know, the way you should talk to bitties. "Hey little guys, you sit tight, okay? Things are getting weird out there but don't worry, no one's getting left behind, no matter what some weird emo people might say."
Reassuring headpats dispensed and after making sure they're safe and secure, Raphael steps back out of the ship, to wait for updates, only to stare over in Kylo Ren's direction.
"Wait, what?" Look, he's not going to complain when he's been itching for a fight but after what the man said only a little bit ago, naturally he's going to be slightly iffy. Staring him down, the turtle stalks right up to Kylo Ren, even if he's probably got maybe a full foot in height over the turtle. He jabs a stubby finger at the man's chest.
"I can fight. Me an' whoever else go out there will make sure those jerks can't hurt anyone else. But that means we're trusting you to hold the fort and protect everyone. No one kid over the other or something like that either, you got it?"
"I'll protect them both. What do you expect me to do, run away with the child while leaving the other three unprotected? Even if I did, I don't have a ship to do it in," Ren points out. He's angry about it because he does think the Force-sensitive is more important but at this point, it doesn't matter. All of them live or none of them live.
"Lightsabers don't discriminate. Anything that comes here will be eliminated. Unless, of course, it's one of you. I think I can lift the kill others on sight order in the case of my own teammates."
"I dunno, you tell me. You're the one that said to take care of elf-ears and abandon the other if you have to, or some crap like that."
Raphael slowly leans back, although he still fixes Kylo Ren with a look. "Good. I'll leave you to it then," he says after a moment. It's a second more before he nods and then turns to run towards the other ship they've souped up. Well, kinda souped up. A thought crosses his mind and he skids to a stop and looks back.
Ren hadn't thought about it until just now but he does, pushing at the door to the Starduck and gesturing his way in. "Go on in. You're captain of the ship for now."
He doesn't know why the ships have been coded this way and imagine it's some sort of genetic thing keyed to their individual signatures in the Force - if that's even something measurable here.
He pokes his head in, whistling. "Whoa, Starduck's swanky." He can't help but grin a bit at being named captain. Eat your heart out, Leo.
Stepping past Kylo Ren, he drops into the pilot's seat and starts flipping switches as he goes through flight prep. It won't ever not weird him out at how easily he can figure to do these things, just from touching some orb thingy.
"Lookin' good. We can launch as soon as whoever else is going gets their butts loaded. -are we gonna have problems getting out of the shield or should we be able to pass through?"
He's holding back a bit. It's strange to be working with anyone and not just alongside them for temporary gain or against them. It feels different, just now, and maybe that's because he just had to relinquish something of his own to someone else's care.
"Good Luck," he says, ducking back out so the others can board. "And may the Force be with you."
Raphael tilts his head, just the slightest confusion marring his brow. This is the same guy that had green baby preferences, right?
"Thanks," he says, pausing a little at the addendum before adding, if not a touch awkwardly, "....you too?" Yeah, that's not how it goes but no one's broken him in on this Force business, okay?

Turning, he darts off to go grab the kiddies.

"See if it works now."
