"All right kiddies, looks like we're team Action, so I am assuming you all know what you've signed up for."
Cayde's not volunteering to be leader, but he feels a need for there to be some kind of conversation going. He's used to working with smaller teams than this, and they knew how each other worked. Obviously, here they don't have exactly the same luxury so they're going to have to do the quick version.
"And I'm assuming that you guys with the fancy guns know how to not blow your own faces off with 'em," he continues, even as he checks the ammunition on his own gun, an oversized revolver in worn black with white trim. "Main point I wanna make? We've never fought together before. We also don't know what we're diving headlong into. But everyone knows their own strengths, and it won't hurt none to let everyone else know what you do best and your preferences as to where you'd rather be as we set out and once we hit trouble."
The Exo smiles brightly at the rest assembled as though they're on a field trip rather than a rescue mission, slapping the chamber of his handcannon into place. "I'll go first, as an example. I like shooting things, got no qualms about bein' up front and in person with danger, and I'm not bad with a knife."
"I doubt any of us really knows what we have signed up for, Cayde..." Jon comments with a quiet voice, not entirely sure how confident he feels about himself among all these people that have already been to actual battles. But he has decided to pick up that gun, so here he is.
As for his strengths... Welp. Jon sighs. Right.
"I, uh.... I don't like shooting things, but I also don't like people getting hurt. I recover quicker than humans do and- I can mind control people." That may be the easiest way to put it.
"It's always good to have someone on point whose not afraid of getting shot at first. I've used rifles before, I did pick up a sword at the pit stop." He'll use both gun and sword if needed. Cloud had no idea what they were getting themselves into in regards to fighting. He turns his attention to Jon with a raised eyebrow.
"I've done a rescue mission before. I'm not afraid of being up close and personal when it comes to fighting. If we need to get around, we'll figure something out." He keeps his attention on Jon. "I'm best with a sword but I can shoot a weapon just fine. I'm enhanced in abilities of strength, being able to take hits harder, and I can climb high if needed."
"I'd feel better with a blaster, but this kind of thing is a pretty average day for me," Poe offers, shrugging a shoulder and offering a smile to keep things casual, "I'm all right with close combat though, I was able to pick up a knife. Also a pretty good climber," he adds, piggybacking off Cloud's comment with a smirk, thinking back to an old adventure.
"I'm more of a sword or knife fighter, but I'm not afraid of a gun." His aim needed work, but he could at least shoot well enough not to hit his team. But he did have a decent looking blade hooked to his belt at the moment that he'd picked up along the way. Following Poe's example, he added, "I'm also a fighter pilot."
Keith wasn't wordy, so that was pretty much all anyone was going to get unless they asked for details.
"Being a sharpshooter is kinda my thing. Was the official gun guy of my team back home. Rifles, sniper rifles, anything really, I can adjust. So I'm definitely more experienced with long range fighting, but I'm not too shabby when it comes to melee either," he explains in regards to himself.
"Me and Keith were--are--the most frontline of frontline soldiers in a pretty nasty intergalactic war back home, so both of us have experience with all sorts of missions, including rescue ones. This definitely ain't our first rodeo. It's been a while, but when you're in that deep, those're skills you don't forget that easily."
He knew a lot of it would stick with him for life.
"Oh, and I'm a fighter pilot, too, if that comes into play here."
