Rage Caries You Away

Billy sighs and shifts closer to Teddy, not wanting to get up yet, nuzzling against his side and closing his eyes.

"Can we just sleep 'til noon today?" he mumbles with a sleepy smile. He rubs absently at an itch on his neck, trying to hold onto that heavy eyed feeling as long as he can. How he wound up engaged to such an early bird he had no idea. "Come on, you know you want to."

Teddy's body tenses at the contact, but he doesn't pull away. His focus planted mainly on the annoying itch on his neck. He scratches the place with his hand but the itching only seems to grow worst.

He groans in frustration and finally lurches into a seated position.

"It won't stop." His tone is gruff with a tinge of anger. The skin where he's been scratching is turning red with rawness, but it's not likely to remain so with his healing factor.

But amongst the redness is a slight raise in the skin easily identifiable as a bite.

The tenseness is Billy's first clue that something is off, frowning faintly before he's jerked into full awareness as Teddy lurches up, pushing a confused Billy to do the same.

"...What won't stop?" he presses with a concerned look. Billy's supposed to be the grumpy one in the mornings, not Teddy. "What's wrong?"

Even without answering the culprit should be obvious to Billy as Teddy continues to scratch at his neck relentlessly.

"The. Itching." His tone is a mix of frustration and underlying anger. Why won't it stop?

Reaching out, he grabs for the nearest item to him -- fortunately it's his pillow -- and he hurls it across the room.

Billy laughs gently at the hurling of the pillow before his brows crease with a reassuring touch to his fiance's shoulder.

"Hey- it's okay. Let me see? It's probably like some kind of space mosquito, don't stress."

The muscles in his shoulder bunch underneath Billy's touch and within seconds he's ripping himself away from the contact and rolling off the bed.

"Don't. Touch. Me." His eyes are narrow and a bares his teeth in a snarl.

"Wh-" Flinching back in confusion, Billy starts to crawl after him until he's met with that snarl. "...Teddy?" He holds his palms up to show he isn't coming any closer. "It's okay- we'll fix this, calm down..."

"You can't fix this!" The rage overtakes the confusion and frustration and within seconds he's transforming, his body growing larger, his fingertips curling into claws, his skin turning green.

He reaches out and digs his claws into the corner of the mattress, shredding through its padding. And the he begins to lift it with Billy still on it.

This sort of rage is very outside of Teddy's general disposition, and definitely not something he's ever directed towards Billy before. Cursing, Billy scrambles back, floating off the mattress before he can fully be lifted away, eyes wide.

"O-okay- okay- hey- it's all right- I'm sorry-"

"Shut up!" He hauls the mattress up with little effort and throws it blindly, not caring about their close quarters or the fact that Billy could be hit. All he knows is the rage burning through him, wanting more destruction.

His eye catches on the shining gold of the hilt of his sword, and he turns his attention away from his finance to move towards it.

"Nnn-!" There's a flash of blue as Billy teleports at the last moment, dodging the mattress and looking back to where he'd stood a moment ago with wide eyes. That would have hit him. Teddy was really trying to hit him...?

He frowns in confusion, trying to reason out what could possibly make Teddy react so strongly. "Let me see your neck, Teddy- let me fix this-"

Teddy doesn't listen, his attention focused solely on reaching for and picking up his sword from its resting place against the wall. Even without its magic it will still be useful.

Once it's in his hand he turns, his expression still guarded and filled with rage. He looks at Billy like he would an enemy. And then he lifts his sword.

"Enough." And then he's charging towards Billy, his sword ready to strike.

He sees him going for the sword, frozen like he still doesn't believe Teddy could really hurt him, though once he's fixed under that look Billy takes a wary half step back.

"...Teddy-?"

And then he's charging, and Billy throws up a domed shield of magic at the last second, trying to ignore the growing discomfort that threatens to distract from the fear and urgency of the current situation.

"Teddy, it's me."

The magic shield forms, protecting Billy from the blow, and Teddy's sword connects uselessly against it. No matter how much strength he uses, the sword doesn't pierce the shield. He strikes again and again, snarling angrily as each blow is as ineffective as the last.

"Teddy-...Teddy! Stop!" Billy pleads, shrinking back anxiously, and as a last ditch effort he teleports away again, into the hall just outside their room, eyes wide.

Something is seriously wrong.

Caught off guard by the disappearance of Billy and his shield, his sword cuts through the air and right down to the floor, leaving a sizable dent. He growls, pulling his sword up again. He couldn't have gone far.

Moments later he's throwing their bedroom door open and stepping into the hall.

"Teddy stop!" Billy pleas, holding up a glowing hand. He's not sure how well or long his magic will work on someone like Teddy, especially in his Hulkling form, and he takes another step back. "Just talk to me!"

"No. There's nothing to talk about," he growls. He needs to fight. He needs to break. He wants to ruin. Bursting forward once again, he swings his sword out viciously, keeping a watch on Billy's glowing hand.

The magic tries to latch onto the sword, to hold it firmly in place, and Billy tries to escape by flying over Teddy's head. These close quarters were not the ideal fighting grounds, he needs to get out.

Billy's magic wraps around the sword and Teddy wastes no time in releasing it, keeping his focus solely on the other boy. With his hands free nothing impedes him from reaching up, using his height and the tight quarters of the hall to his advantage, seeking to grab whatever part of Billy's body he can grab.

"Teddy- let go-" Billy kicks out his ankle, trying to free it from Teddy's grasp, still trying to stick to defense over offence, but Teddy's obviously got the edge when it comes to physical strength.

He manages to retain his grip and slowly begins to tighten it to the point of discomfort, in order to get a sure enough grip to begin pulling Billy down from the air.

"Nnn-" Wincing, Billy tries to pull against Teddy's grip, but he's steadily pulled down, unwilling to hurt Teddy to make him let go.

"S-stop-"

Once he's sure his grip will hold he pulls even harder, wanting to send Billy crashing back into the ground. His words aren't reaching Teddy. In fact, they seem to only be making him more angry and violent.

He hits the ground with a pained cry, gritting his teeth, and feeling a rush of frustration threatening to overwhelm the fear and confusion, lashing out with a concussive wave of magic. He's not far gone enough yet to be fully lost to the rage though, looking horrified with his reaction.

"Teddy- I'm sorry! I'm sorry- please-"

The magic finds its target and Teddy is shoved back by the blow, a groan forced from his throat, but it's not enough to knock him off his feet. His eyes narrow and his teeth gnash together, releasing a growl.

"Save it! I don't want your pity."

He begins stalking towards Billy once again.
