Event: Whale Comb Home!
Well. March certainly came in like a lion... and went out like a (pampered) lamb. We hope you've enjoyed your time on Risa, because come April 1, it's time to move on.
Just as suddenly as you had arrived, your time on Risa is now over. One moment you were climbing a wall or napping by the water or eating some replicated food. The next, you are back in Temba with its empty, quiet streets.
Somehow, the damage done by the storm seems almost mended, now. There are some trees that are still upended and a few more areas with broken glass, but most of the rubble is cleared. And right over the fountain where everyone got their start hangs a banner with the familiar Agrii three-eyed smiley face and a cheery greeting:
Whale comb home, indeed. But at least this time you’re armed with whatever you may have purchased at Risa. All of it has come home with you and is waiting either by your feet or at the area you’ve claimed as your home, here. Time to put it all away and get back to the grind. Who knows how long this small reprieve will last!
But even so, there are things to do, should you get bored:
Section 31 has translated and expanded the map of Temba. There are new places to go and to see! Go ahead and explore these new locations and perhaps claim a few as your own. If we’re here for the long haul, you might want to start opening shops or other places for the heroes to go. Now we have more interesting things to trade for, after all.
But maybe you forgot to grab something. Maybe you realized too late that you should have bought a toothbrush or a bag of disposable diapers. You go to He Row Soup Lies, resigned to whatever is going to be given to you by the understanding-challenged Agrii, and see something else there. It’s a replicator. One from Risa is sitting on the floor in pieces like a futuristic IKEA dresser. Time to go get some engineers or otherwise technically savvy people to put this together. Maybe the time of eating dubious berries in the woods is over?
Well, at least for one day it is.
The day after you arrive back home, as soon as the light starts rising, you hear music. It’s loud and odd. The notes don’t actually make a lot of sense together; they slide up and down and alternate wildly. It’s the sort of symphony a child at a piano might make except with a cacophony of instruments. It fills the air with cheery, disjointed music as it floats out from the amphitheater, beckoning you there but, this time, not at all compelling.
On your comm you will see a message from Ga Re:
He Rows,
We whale comb you here a gain. Agrii have food at mew sick home. Go with mew sick. Part tea for all. Also learn time. Agrii need learn storm. Us need learn all he rows learn. Us hear all. Talk at mew sick home. We learn. You learn. All learn and stop storms!
Thank all yous.
- Ga Re
A party. Another Whale Comb party for everyone with the alcoholic berries and the truth-serum blue drink. At least this time you know what to expect! Enjoy your party, heroes. But also heed what Ga Re said; this is an ideal time to talk with one another and compare whatever you’ve managed to learn. Think of it like a town hall where whatever you learned on Risa or in the storm can be spread around and analyzed.
But more than anything, relax. Go to the hot springs or the caves. Unpack and maybe find a new home. Take it easy.
Quiet moments like these don’t last long...
OOC NOTES:
The Risa event will end the morning of April 1st, when all heroes will be transported back to Agra 10. Pets and purchased materials will return with you. The Whale Comb Home party will take place April 2nd, with an event log you can tag into whenever you want. Any of the items from the original Whale Comb party are fair game: striped meat, red fruit, weeds, and drinks. We hope you heroes come hungry!
This event will run through April 20, so you’ll have most of the month to get settled back into your “normal” routines in Temba.
Remember, if you’d like to claim a building or tell us what you think it should be, go to the map and comment there! Anything is game, just make sure you leave a comment so the mods and other players know and it can be added to the map description. Buildings will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis (first character to comment will get dibs).
Once it’s up and running the replicator will be a permanent fixture moving forward! Each character can replicate five items per month. For now, we’re trusting players to keep track of their characters’ replicator use, but if things seem to get out of hand, we’ll institute a request page. Things like food and clothing and toiletries don’t need any kind of mod approval, but if you aren’t sure about something you want to make, feel free to ask on the He Row Soup Lies page. (We'll update it with the info about the replicator soon.) Immediate questions can also be left on this post as well.
More details on replicator use: You can replicate most items up to the size of an average microwave. If you want to make something bigger, you’ll have to replicate it in parts - and each part counts as one of your five total items for the month. Weapons cannot be replicated (the Agrii have somehow disabled that function). If you try, you’ll get a weird, half-melted, misshapen piece of plastic, which also counts as one of your five items for the month. The replicator will also not make the power crystals that seem to power the city. Sorry, you’ll have to find more of those in the caves or maybe in parts of the city you just haven’t explored yet.
Anything else we haven't addressed here? Please drop a comment below, and we'll get you an answer!

How about Communicator (ala Star Wars canon) parts?

How particular is it about the 'no weapons' policy? If I ask for a straight razor, will that be too close to weapon?

Conveniently enough, the Agrii don't consider razors/knives weapons in the same way a blaster or a gun is. So yes, you can replicate a straight razor. BUT any blade that is used against another hero (i.e., character in the game) will disappear.

If you want, you can assume the message appears to Poe in whatever language he would need it to be in so he can read it (e.g., Basic).

Alas, no - it still smells like greens, just tastes like chicken.
