[Keith actually didn't arrive at the hotel like most people. He'd been hurt in the storm, so he actually found himself at the hospital first. Thankfully, Federation medicine is crazy advanced. He was treated, healed up, and released with instructions to take it easy for a few days and come back if there were any complications. There was an odd look from the medical doctor at seeing the readouts for Keith's physiology, but this was Risa. What happens on Risa, stays on Risa, and the doc was discreet by not pushing for too much information.

It left Keith wondering... clearly, they were in another reality again... apparently one where Galra didn't exist.

Once he was out, he headed back to the hotel to find his room and get settled. He was there for a few hours, exploring the amenities available, finding Lance and the pets, and figuring out next steps. Keith wasn't up for big dance club stuff, yet, so taking it easy was definitely a good idea for today.

Keith could then be found checking out some of the shops, generally not very far from Lance, with Kosmo in tow, as they looked for things that were weather appropriate and good to wear to a beach and for a vacation. Once they got what they wanted and needed, it was back to the hotel just long enough to change before staking out some space on the beach.

For the next few days, it was the beach, the spa, and, later in the time on Risa, maybe a few dance clubs when Lance really talked him into it.

Keith was just looking to finally enjoy some time off... when it wasn't dealing with that mysterious "31" person from the note.]

[Thankfully, Keith wasn't distracted enough to get bumped into. He managed to avoid it just enough so they didn't collide.]

Careful.

[His tone was laid back enough for the moment. He wasn't annoyed.]

[New. The second the word comes Tommy's standing a foot and a half away, hands up defensively.]

Sorry man, didn't see you there.

[Yeah, that took some getting used to, even with a teleporting wolf. Keith startled a bit, but he just shook his head.]

Nah, it's fine.

You're Tommy, right?

[Keith's memory about their time having been reverted to kids was a little hazy, but he remembered meeting shortly after their initial arrival on Agra. Tommy had been impressed with Kosmo.

Speaking of, the blue wolf was currently at Keith's side, head tilted at Tommy in curiosity.]

[Oh. Oh fuck, someone who knows who he is. That... sucks. Tommy quickly sorts through his memories, trying to figure out just who this might be. And when the memory of that embarrassing time as a kid comes up he groans and runs his fingers through his hair.]

Keith, right. The guy who didn't like snowballs. And who little Tommy thought was cool even if he was an angry dork. Fuck. Sorry about that shit, man. And you've still got the pupper. Nice to see you, Pup. You any faster now? I'm all fed up, bet I could take you in that race.

[Keith rubbed the back of his neck.]

I uh... yeah. I don't remember a lot of it, but, from what I can tell, I wasn't exactly in a great mental place at that age. Sorry. I was kind of a jerk.

But, yeah... apparently any pets we had ended up here, too. [Keith wasn't complaining. Kosmo had become very important to him.

Kosmo wagged his tail when Tommy spoke to him.]

I don't know how much faster someone can get then actually teleporting, to be honest... unless you count time travel and being in two places at the same time. It's pretty instantaneous. [Keith shrugged.]

[Fuck, man, he hates trying to process all this shit. How to explain it.]

Okay, so like, my brother can, or could, teleport too. Long distances, without ever seeing them. But he had to use magic to do it. In the time that it could take him to frame something, I could already be there and doing shit. It's like that. How far can Puppo teleport? Does he require line of sight? Stuff like that. In the end, a regular old Mach 5 can seriously outpace teleporters depending on speed of power start up, how much work it takes, and what the esoteric rules of the teleporting is.

Could be your pup is better over a long distance than I am. Could be that over a short distance I'm there before he can even get the juices flowing.

[Keith looked thoughtful for a moment, and then shrugged.]

I never timed him. I don't know if he change how long it takes. Seems to be the same every time.

[He glanced down at the wolf in question for a moment before giving a very subtle hand gesture. Kosmo sat in place.]

He doesn't need to see it first, though. He's teleported into unknown areas quite a few times. As for distance... I don't know. He's gone pretty far, but I don't know that we've found a maximum, yet. Though, here, he seems to not go as far as he normally does? It's like there's a limit and he knows it. Back home, though, yeah. Like, I don't know that he could make the jump to a spaceship in orbit, but he's jumped from ship to ship when we're flying together in formation.

[Keith stepped off about ten feet, and then glanced back at them. Kosmo stayed where he was, watching Keith intensely. Keith made another quick gesture, and, in about a second, a glow built up around him before he disappeared in a flash of light accompanied by a 'shing' kind of sound. Another second later and the flash appeared again next to Keith's side with the same sound. Suddenly, Kosmo.]

I guess it's about two seconds? [Keith shrugged.] We've used it in fights.

[Ten feet, huh? Tommy smirks.]

At least over a teen foot distance pretty sure I've got him beat. Two second start up is pretty intense against someone who can do Mach 5. Still, it's a good thing to have in fights, and he's clearly a smart dog.

[Keith nodded a bit.]

He doesn't seem to go as far here as he does back home. I'm wondering if something happened when he was brought in. Back home, he can go pretty far, and take two people with him. I haven't tried having him teleport us together here, yet.

[He rubbed the top of Kosmo's head, and the wolf wagged his tail slightly.]

But, yeah. It's good for dodging, that's for sure. But I found him in outerspace. I think Coran said he was a cosmic wolf. Maybe that's why he's so smart.

Space wolf. That's so fucking cool.

[Tommy's just absolutely pleased. Especially since, for some reason, Kosmo was WAY less triggering of Tommy's fear of dogs than Sansa's direwolf was.]

Think he'd mind me petting him?

[It probably helped that Kosmo was so well-trained and in-tune with others.]

Nah. He's pretty good about that. He likes the attention.

[Heck, even Iverson had turned into a complete mush and gave Kosmo a good petting, and the wolf had loved it. Keith smiled down at the blue canine, and Kosmo started to wag his tail.]

[Might also have something to do with the fact that Kosmo definitely didn't look like most dogs. Still, there is a moment of hesitation before Tommy moves forward to pat the space-wolf's head. That was nice. Please don't bite him.]

[It was definitely hard to look like a typical Earth dog or even wolf when one had bright blue fur that kind of almost glowed...

Kosmo lifted his nose a little, ears shifting out of the way of Tommy's hand as his tail wagged. After a moment, like he understood that Tommy was nervous, Kosmo took a slow step towards him, offering Tommy the opportunity to pet his sides and back.]

Seems he likes you.

[Keith smiled encouragingly.]

[Smart dog. He sighs and moves to start petting Kosmos' side. His fur is soft and lovely.]

Well, he's beautiful, and not biting me, so yeah, I like him too.

[Keith smiled at that.]

Yeah, he is really cool looking. Definitely not like anything on Earth.

At least, nothing I've seen. And I've seen most of Earth.

[Not even kidding which is really weird. At last Tommy stops petting Kosmo and looks to Keith.]

So, uh... about the whole snow planet?

[Keith nodded. Being friends with a dog person like Shiro meant that Keith knew quite a few different breeds just by association.

The question, though, caught him a little off guard, and he took a breath. His shoulders lifted slightly as his normal reaction to being uncomfortable almost kicked in, but he managed to stop himself from hunching completely and crossing his arms.]

Yeah... that, uh... [He looked to the side for a second.] Sorry about that. I was kind of a jerk at that age.

[Kosmo looked between them for a moment, and then, because Tommy was no longer petting him, moved back to Keith's side.]

[Tommy shakes his head, his hands raising as he tries to ward off Keith hating himself.]

Dude, I wasn't even that great at that age. In fact, the way I was at that age was nothing like that kid. But anyway, I just wanted to apologize for how kid-me strong armed you into being around me and my brother.

I wanted to apologize because I get it. The things you said then. Because that's who I was.

[Keith did look back at Tommy as he explained, listening. The apology for dragging him around was met with a weak smirk, but that faded as the two of them suddenly found unpleasant common ground. Keith dropped his gaze for a second and then pressed his lips into a thin line.]

It takes a lot to come back from that. Thanks for understanding, but... at the same time, I kind of wish you didn't.

[He gave Tommy a somewhat sad smile. Losing his family and ending up alone wasn't something Keith wish on anyone. It was a horrible place to be in life, especially as a kid.]

[Honestly, he'd rather Keith's situation to his own. At least Keith's family had loved him. At least he found his mother and the woman wanted him.]

Trust me, I wish I didn't either. But I got away from my useless family in the end, so I'm luckier. I just wanted to apologize for how he acted. That wasn't what I was like as a kid. I couldn't see how it sucked for you.

It's not like we had a choice about being kids. It's not your fault. [Keith should probably take his own advice...] Besides, as much as it bugged me at that age, I kinda came to realize that most people weren't going to understand. And, well... I was lucky, too. I got a second chance.

[More than that, really. Sure, things got bad after his dad died, but his whole life after meeting Shiro had been full of second/third/fourth chances, and he knew it. He knew that he was lucky... a lot luckier than most people who went through what he did were.]

[Well, he could have not had the chocolate, but they hadn't known then.]

Second chance? Well, yeah, I guess I did too. It's nice. But, uh... I just wanted to say you don't have to worry about me talking about it to other people. I would, though, still say you're welcome around.

[Keith looked a little confused as to why anyone would really talk about it much with other people anyway, but he nodded, giving Tommy a small smile.]

For, you know... not hating me. [He gave a dry, somewhat nervous laugh and rubbed the back of his neck. Keith was definitely someone who was painfully aware of his past, and present, flaws, and often spent a lot of time beating himself up over them.]

No reason to hate you. You were an ass. I'm an ass sometimes.

[And that is something Tommy made peace with. He finally moves a bit away from the shop, as if he expects the guy to approach.]

[Keith nodded a bit.]

I guess everyone has their moments.

[He noted the movement, wondering if Tommy wanted him to follow, so he made to do so, Kosmo moving with him as well.]
