WHO: Keith, anyone :D
WHERE: Around Risa (notable places include the hospital, the hotel, shopping, the beach, the spa...)
WHAT: Chillin'... getting healed up from storm injuries, etc.
WHEN: Throughout the event. CATCH-ALL :D
WARNINGS: None, yet... will add if anything pops up.
[Keith actually didn't arrive at the hotel like most people. He'd been hurt in the storm, so he actually found himself at the hospital first. Thankfully, Federation medicine is crazy advanced. He was treated, healed up, and released with instructions to take it easy for a few days and come back if there were any complications. There was an odd look from the medical doctor at seeing the readouts for Keith's physiology, but this was Risa. What happens on Risa, stays on Risa, and the doc was discreet by not pushing for too much information.
It left Keith wondering... clearly, they were in another reality again... apparently one where Galra didn't exist.
Once he was out, he headed back to the hotel to find his room and get settled. He was there for a few hours, exploring the amenities available, finding Lance and the pets, and figuring out next steps. Keith wasn't up for big dance club stuff, yet, so taking it easy was definitely a good idea for today.
Keith could then be found checking out some of the shops, generally not very far from Lance, with Kosmo in tow, as they looked for things that were weather appropriate and good to wear to a beach and for a vacation. Once they got what they wanted and needed, it was back to the hotel just long enough to change before staking out some space on the beach.
For the next few days, it was the beach, the spa, and, later in the time on Risa, maybe a few dance clubs when Lance really talked him into it.
Keith was just looking to finally enjoy some time off... when it wasn't dealing with that mysterious "31" person from the note.]

No, I guess not. Adapting can be hard, but you just have to sometimes.

[That said, he orders something he’s never seen before and is very happy to stand back and watch it get made.]

[Keith was curious, too, so he watched the prep as well. Thankfully, this world was familiar with Earth in addition to apparently a whole bunch of other places. And, even if it wasn't the Earth he might know, it seemed like they had at least some familiar food, so it was nice to have that. Keith was trying to adapt, but he'd been away from familiar things for a long time now.]

[It got Tommy in trouble a lot actually. A hell of a lot. But he still tried to break those habits. But success and him weren’t exactly friends sometimes.]
no subject
Yeah. Tell me about it.
Still, some habits make us who we are, wouldn't you think?
no subject
Probably best not to talk about the sins of the past. But hey, I think those are ours.
[The sandwiches are really almost ready and Tommy goes to collect them. And the package of sliced meat.]
no subject
Probably, yeah.
[Keith followed Tommy over to the counter to help carry stuff out. As expected, Kosmo was waiting for them as patiently as he could. His tail started wagging as soon as he spotted them and he stood up as they came out the door.
Keith gave him a good rub on the head for behaving, and the wolf easily retook his spot at Keith's side.]

Once outside Tommy stopped to fish the package of cut meat from the bag and hands it to Keith.]
For Kosmo. Figured he could probably use something good too.
no subject
Keith smiled at the offer.]
Thanks. I'm sure he'll appreciate it. Let's find a place to sit down.
[There was a park not far from them, at least, and it had some open picnic tables they could use. Keith settled down at one that wasn't taken, indicating that Tommy take the other seat. Kosmo sat obediently next to Keith's chair.]
Thanks for lunch.
[Keith opened the package of meat first, and then placed it near the middle of the table in case Tommy wanted to give some to Kosmo, too. He wasn't going to hand him the whole thing because the wolf would definitely scarf it down and possibly get himself sick, so it was best to take it easy and do a slice or two at a time.]

[It's a big thing, even if he says that. Sure, he's gotten used to having the resources to feed himself, loves that in Temba he can do something to help fill all their bellies. But from one lost kid to another, he thinks maybe Keith would get it. What it could mean to someone like Tommy, who never had enough growing up, to freely give food to another. Sure he wasn't really taking it out of his own mouth, not directly, but the money could have been used to get things for himself. Instead, he's sharing it. An offering of sorts.
But there's no way he could ever be sure Keith got it.
So instead he unwrapped his sandwich and immediately took a few bites out of it. Three heartbeats and it's already half eaten. Speedsters, they're a trip.]
So, what datapoint you got?
no subject
Right now, I'm a pilot. Which, with the ships being basically automated all the time, feels a little useless. I got to do at least some flying during the storm thing, but it feels dumb to have a pilot when I can't override the system for these mission things they send us on.
What about you?
no subject
[Twin Roses had been MISERABLE during that time.]
Agriculture. Never made things with my hands before. Only destroyed. It's a nice change.
no subject
Yeah. I guess. It would just be nice to feel more useful at times, I guess. I was never good at being idle.
[He considered that for a moment.]
So... what do you guys do on the ships, then? With that one? I don't think any of them have like a hydro-whatever bay, right?
[Hydroponics, Keith. The word you were looking for is 'hydroponics'.]
no subject
[Wow, actually half offended. Not his fault that he's not smart enough to figure out how to make the systems on his own.]
And plants would be good for our mental health on the ships. And better than just protein paste. So there.
no subject
[Keith should have known that. Pidge's mom was a botanist, after all. He managed a weak smile and then shook his head.]
I didn't say it was useless. Trust me, when stuff is fresh, it definitely tastes better.
[He'd learned that from Hunk, too.]
When the ships were still in Drift Fleet, the engineer position kind of determined what sort of engine room we had. The Huntress had one that supported plants, believe it or not. I really don't know how it worked, but I didn't have that augment. But, our engineer was definitely a plant person.
no subject
Well, I'm not an engineer. Which is probably good. People would probably hate me if I was. Because a lot depends on engineers, and I break things more often than not. Irritated vibrating probably throws engines off.
