[ Stu would need to let them in, after all. And if he's willing to do that... his response to all this is too damning for her to consider cooperation here a sign of innocence, but it's probably a sign that he's confident that they won't find anything. Still,
she figures a search is worth a shot. ]

We'll need to contact this Doctor Wesker.

[Sephiroth doesn't know him, but will call him if there are no other volunteers to do so.]

[Now they're all just looking at each other, so Stu as to awkwardly fumble with his phone, sniffling into the camera as he dials the doctor.]

Heeey, man, sir, man sir, do you do house calls?

[ The initial response is an extended silence. Followed by a simple, yet very final: ]

No.

Dr. Takemi will be more than happy to indulge you.

[In the background, Shaw groans loudly.]

Wait, no, don't hang up; it's not a housecall. The kid who was crying to the network quit that when he realized it wasn't working, and now he's back to making jokes. We need to search his place for evidence, he says he doesn't trust me not to plant evidence, and you're his pick for-- I dunno, an impartial witness.

[Sephiroth gives Stu a very unimpressed look. This switch of attitude only makes him even less likely to believe anything the boy says.]

Yes, that is correct.

[He says to corroborate Shaw's explanation.]

We are trying to get to the bottom of what's going on here and he has been making it very difficult. He has only finally agreed on the condition of your being there.

See, she's already accusing me of more shi--stuff, sir, she won't stop, and this guy just got here and believes everything she says. I haven't done anything they're saying, they just showed up and started saying I'm a monster, I don't know what they want me to even do that I'm making so difficult.

[ Now this is a fine mess this odd little trio is attempting to drag him into. But if the information he is being presented is correct, then the young man at least has made one reasonable decision. Said young man is a person Wesker at least remeembers. He also has had some interaction with Shaw, who to him seemed to be someone that takes her work seriously. The newcomer is someone Wesker has no means to judge and why this man decided to randomly get involved in any of this is no mystery Wesker deems worth solving.

After a good moment has passed, he finally responds. ]

I assume we can all agree that it will not be possible for me to oversee two people searching the place. Which means that I will bring Themis to keep an eye on the newcomer and Stu Macher who will be waiting outside the residence. I will accompany Miss Shaw inside so she can conduct her search. Which I will not participate in but I will have some questions answered.

[Shaw - stubborn and blunt and in-your-face as she is - is ultimately a soldier, not a commander. She doesn't grate against Wesker's take-charge attitude, nor does she resent being given what is essentially an order.

But she does have one question.]

Okay, but who's Themis?

[Sephiroth has that same question. If Themis is going to be watching him, he wants to know more about them. He looks to the camera with questions in his eyes.]

Exactly what I would like to know.

Now who's making it difficult....

Themis is the one guarding the hospital. But this isn't about her. I will meet you at Macher's residence once you send me the location.

[ Don't try his patience. It already comes in very limited supply. ]

What is it with people here and being allergic to actual communication? She's relevant if she's gonna be playing guard dog.

[Looking over at Sephiroth and Stu, she adds:]

Literally playing guard dog. She's kind of, uh-- a dog monster thing. I dunno, I've only seen her from a distance.

… I see.

[Now he’s picturing Cerberus from his world.]

Then I’m sure she has a zero tolerance policy for nonsense.

[Hopefully none of them will do anything to anger her, himself included.

He looks to Stu.]

Will you give Dr. Wesker your home’s address?

[Or however they identify locations here.]

Yeah, good, you trust a dog you'd never heard of but you really have to sniff my underwear because I'm the one acting weird here.

It's on the ship, the room, with my name on it, or whatever, you know, you know how that works, because you live here, and know we don't have addresses.

I never saw the dog monster break out the crocodile tears when someone asked her if she'd been attacking people.

[Shaw says flatly, then jerks her chin towards the exit.]

Let's go.

[Sephiroth knows the city is divided into sections and he's pretty sure the buildings in those sections have numbers for identification, at least on the map. That sounds a lot like addresses to him, even if they're not literally called that.]

[It should be fairly quick to get to the room in question.]

Don't let her do anything weird, man. You stitched me up, I was dead without you, and she's got all kinds of people I've never even met believing it never happened. The only person who gets anything good out of convincing people it didn't happen, is the guy that did it.

[ As promised Wesker has brought Themis along. She is easily the size of a large dog by now and thankfully doesn't look as unhealthy as her demo-creature cousins did. And while remaining very attentive while awaiting her orders, she still is very busy with tasting all the new scents in the air around her while Wesker casts Stu a scowl. ]

We keep medical records at the hospital.

[ His next words are directed at Themis. ]

Themis, watch these two.

[ A brief pause before he adresses both Stu and Sephiroth. ]

She won't harm either of you, but she will alarm me if necessary.

[ And lastly he turns to Shaw. Because yes, he is totally taking charge here. ]

And you will tell me what you are looking for once we are inside.

Roger roger; I've got some questions for you, too.

[Themis being treated as a full-on team member doesn't faze Shaw in the slightest: it's not so far off from how her team at home had treated their own dog, once upon a time. She'll even give her a little nod of acknowledgement as they head in, which is more than either Stu or Sephiroth get.

Once they're in and the door is closed, she walks into the middle of the main living area: first doing a broad look-over, then trying to identify possible storage areas and hidey-holes.]

Tozier said the person who attacked him had a face like that famous painting The Scream. He couldn't tell if it was a mask or not, but since there's no one here that I know of who looks like that all the time, I'm thinking mask or shapeshifter.

So the kid actually got stabbed? He wasn't making that up?

[Sephiroth might be more shocked at Themis's appearance except for being aware of demon dogs back home, so he doesn't really bat an eye.

What does startle him is Wesker's lack of denying that a stabbing happened. His initial approach to the situation had been largely based on believing Stu was lying about the stabbing since no knife was found on Shaw.

He folds his arms, frowning.]

So you actually were stabbed, only it happened at some point in the past and not today?

[Stu is back to crouching against the wall where he can be eye to...face...with the animal, arms around himself, mostly covering the camera by holding the tablet against his leg.]

I don't know why you just believe her, man. I didn't lie.

[ A shapeshifter at least would be something new, and yet Wesker has his doubts towards that option.

He follows Shaw inside, but stays out of her way to do what he is here for: Oversee her search. ]

He was brought to the hospital with a stabwound shortly after his arrival in the city. I merely kept him from dying. Billy Loomis should know more about that. He dragged him in.

What makes you suspect him?

Donnie's communicator was used to lure Robin into getting attacked, and he thinks Loomis and Macher stole it. Apparently they turned up at his place not too long before it went missing. I went to have a chat with Macher about it, and he whipped out his tablet and started filming me, crying about how I'd threatened him and I was armed and I'd come to attack him. Not the kind of crap someone does when they have no idea what you're talking about, definitely the kind of crap someone does when they know you're onto them and they're trying to spin the story.

[As she talks, she moves methodically around the room: feeling around under furniture and in between couch cushions, looking into drawers and closets. She's not exactly gentle, but she makes sure not to damage anything, and puts everything back roughly where she found it.]

My guess is, if he let us in here, it's because he's confident we're not going to find anything.
