Alec's wandered to the center in the hopes of finding some kind of supplies or something to help make his apparent stay here a little easier. He doesn't mind camping — not his favorite activity but he can do it — but the weather is hot and the amenities almost nonexistent. He's starting to accept that he's going to have to seek out both supplies and help.

He starts at the center. He's giving the data point there a wide berth, and he's not too sure about the replicator. Currently he's contemplating the supplies box. Do these so-called Agrii want him to just ask for something? Out loud? It seems weird, and like it can't possibly work.

Similarly, Alec is browsing through the offerings at what appears to be a cross between a department store and a disaster area. He needs at least a change of clothes because his are getting a little, well, worn for the several days he's been here. It'd be nice to have something to wear so he can wash them.

He's not having much luck finding anything suitable though. Maybe he's in the wrong part of the place. Or maybe he needs to resign himself to a blanket toga for the duration of doing laundry.

The space seems largely empty, which makes Alec think he might be in the wrong place. But no, it's set up to look like a restaurant, so it must be the diner, right? Hopefully. He's hungry, and he's not quite sure of the protocol he should be following here.

"Um... hello?" he calls into the empty space. "Anyone here?"

Still getting used to using this tablet. Can anyone tell me, all the icons on this home screen seem to be misspelled but I can't find the settings menu. Any ideas?

No mirrors. But in Alec's eyes, that's easily solved. "Why don't you hand me for tablet, and I'll take pictures? Then you can look at them."

Slower than looking in a mirror perhaps, but maybe it would help Angel out.

"Be sure ta get my good side," he teases, passing the device over and giving a cheeky pose. The guy obviously knows his angles, it's not Angel's first time modeling.

"You don' look half bad neither, don' worry."

Alec's done this plenty of times for his sister, he knows the routine. And while he's not really looking at the posing with interest, he does appreciate that — like Izzy — Angel seems to have confidence in his appearance, enough to flaunt and pose and allow Alec to capture a whole series of pictures. Hopefully it'll give the guy enough to see.

"Oh, um, I don't really care how anything looks. I'm just hoping for something that fits." Actually, Alec would prefer plain, nondescript clothing; he won't feel comfortable in anything too fitted or flashy. But even if all he can find is something to sleep in, and that he can wear for long enough to clean his existing clothes, that's more than enough.

"Everyone cares a little." Don't they? "You care in that you want it to kind of...boring. Tactical. Unassuming, I dunno. Ya don't want stick out. That's still caring. Oogh, you're not bad at this. That's perfect. I can work with this."

"Oh. I guess so, then." Alec hadn't thought of caring from that perspective, but Angel his the nail right on its head. And hopefully respects his preferences — it seems like he does anyway.

"Oh, um, thanks. I sometimes helped my sister with pics. It's no problem."

He respects them at least enough to not try and change was he where, doesn't mean he won't make fun of him for it, but he's fresh from hell, a little mockery isn't the worst he could be doing.

"You gotta sister? I had one once. Long time ago. And a brother but he's a shit head. Older or younger?"

A little mockery that Alec's probably heard from his siblings anyway. It's fine. It's not like it'll change his preferences.

"Younger. I'm the oldest." And thus, the most responsible. Heavy is the head that has to inherit the family name and all that.

That definitely tracks, he seems very much like an eldest child.

"Youngest. Sorta. Me and Molly are twins, she only beat me by a few minutes, I dunno if that counts."

"I think it counts as much as you want it to count." Alec, that's not how twins work.

"I don't think they're here though. I think it's just me."

[harderdaddy]

"Seems like," Angel agrees, "But some a the people here seem to wind up with their loved ones or family, maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones. Not really sure how they pick us. 'Cause if they're looking for heroes I ain't a great example."
