Alec's wandered to the center in the hopes of finding some kind of supplies or something to help make his apparent stay here a little easier. He doesn't mind camping — not his favorite activity but he can do it — but the weather is hot and the amenities almost nonexistent. He's starting to accept that he's going to have to seek out both supplies and help.
He starts at the center. He's giving the data point there a wide berth, and he's not too sure about the replicator. Currently he's contemplating the supplies box. Do these so-called Agrii want him to just ask for something? Out loud? It seems weird, and like it can't possibly work.

Similarly, Alec is browsing through the offerings at what appears to be a cross between a department store and a disaster area. He needs at least a change of clothes because his are getting a little, well, worn for the several days he's been here. It'd be nice to have something to wear so he can wash them.
He's not having much luck finding anything suitable though. Maybe he's in the wrong part of the place. Or maybe he needs to resign himself to a blanket toga for the duration of doing laundry.

The space seems largely empty, which makes Alec think he might be in the wrong place. But no, it's set up to look like a restaurant, so it must be the diner, right? Hopefully. He's hungry, and he's not quite sure of the protocol he should be following here.
"Um... hello?" he calls into the empty space. "Anyone here?"

Still getting used to using this tablet. Can anyone tell me, all the icons on this home screen seem to be misspelled but I can't find the settings menu. Any ideas?
[This sure is the message of a man who has not realized how the Agrii interpret spelling.]

Want to continue a TDM thread? Let me know and I can tag it back. Prefer one of the prompts there instead of the ones above? We can totally do that instead. I'm assuming the TDM as game canon but have no problem ignoring those threads if you want to go in a different direction, just let me know either way.

Have another idea entirely? Come at me here or hit me up at
sometimesamuse or via PM. Want a more specific starter for your character? Let me know, I got you. Want to handwave an initial meeting and skip intros? I'm fine with that as well, let's hash it out. And as always, while I write starters in prose I'm happy to match brackets if that's your preference. You can find information about Alec here and his permissions are here.
Diner
“Hey, welcome. You’re clearly new. Like Jam? It’s jam day!”
no subject
Alec will swear that no one was behind him just a second ago. He's not so tired (or hungry) to miss someone on his heels, right? But here's this guy coming in immediately after Alec and jabbering about jam.
What is his life even. "What?"
no subject
"I'm making jam. Do you like jam? Wanna help?"
no subject
Alec did not come here to make jam. But maybe it's bartering work for food, and he does want to eat, so he's not sure he has a choice.
"I guess so. Sure."
no subject
And he's heading back toward the kitchen. Sorry, Alec, he's just excited to finally get to restock all the jams that Link and others made excessive use of in the last year.
no subject
After a moment, Alec figures he's probably meant to follow, so he does.
no subject
He slips past the counter and hip checks the door to the kitchen so he can make his way through.
no subject
no subject
He prefers people help out by providing food too, but that's not actually an obligation.
no subject
"What do you need me to do?"
no subject
"Come back and wash your hands. Then eat a sandwich. Then I'll show you what to do."
no subject
It's no one's problem but his own though.
"Okay," he says, following the guy's instruction to find a sink, and soap. Truly he's grateful for even that much, because basic necessities seem in short supply.
Then it's on to sandwich making, for which some of the ingredients are just plain, well, alien.
no subject
"I can tell you some of what these things taste like if you want."
no subject
no subject
Not something he can be sure of though.
no subject
"Yeah," he answers. "New York City."
no subject
But he lays out a few things that aren't TOO strange. Some greens. Some bantha cheese, some dried baconroom slices.
no subject
"Is there something wrong about being from New York?" Alec wasn't born there, but maybe this guy has some weird thing against that particular city. Sports rivalries can get weird like that, right?
no subject
"No, not really. I'm just from Jersey, and I've lived in New York City. And there are so many New Yorkers here. It's funny."
no subject
"Huh. I wonder if certain geographic locations have a bigger draw or something." It's possible, right?
no subject
"Perhaps. I mean, for my group it's probably got to do with us actually being heroes and that being heavily focused in NYC."
no subject
"Ah. So the hero thing is actually what these aliens are looking for, and not just flattery?" If that case, why bring Alec here without his weapons? He can't fight and banish demons completely unarmed.
no subject
"They want answers, and I think they have a lot less control than they seem to think they do. At least, that's what I thought when I learned about the cryo units. But I didn't study them."
no subject
"Great." Not exactly the best situation to get thrown into. But complaining definitely won't get him anywhere. "There's what now?"
no subject
"Cryo units. From what I heard. On the Agrii ship. I couldn't go into that room. It was..."
Upsetting. Very upsetting.
