So, while we're all here having barrels of fun (read as much sarcasm as you do or don't want into that — dealer's choice, I'm not your mom, etc.), I figure I'll offer my non-data point skills here for anyone who might need them. You know, when powers aren't fluctuating in storms and shit: You need some help with metals and magnetic stuff, I'm your lady.

What kind of storm can do something like that? That kind of makes it more difficult to work in, especially if we're expected to figure out how to stop them.

The bullshit kind of storm does. Guess we're supposed to outsmart the odds in other ways. Considering we're not dead, we seem to be doing an okay job so far. You know, for the basically five minutes we've been dealing with it.

So you mentioned something about being good with metals and...magnetic stuff? How does that work?

The really, really short version is that there are people in my world born with an 'X-gene' that causes us to manifest powers at some point in our lives; we're colloquially called 'mutants', scientifically we're 'Homo Superior'. These powers can be anything, really. My powers allow me control over magnetism, which I can also employ to control things in the magnetic/electromagnetic/metallic/etc. spectrums.

That sounds pretty amazing. I've never heard anything like that before.

*I* think so, but I'm biased, hah. It's all fun and games until either the baseline humans, or another another category of humans, or another species entirely decides to try to politically regulate and/or attack mutants.

[ Which, she doesn't quite add, is a lot. So, basically, it's never fun and games. ]

Was your original home universe one of the 'no so called superpowers' kind?

Where I'm from, there are those who can tap into a sort of ever-present energy called the Force. We can sense things through it, and when we're in tune with it we can do a lot of superhuman things.

I mean, that does sound pretty cool. Like magic but not, ish. Is this a psychic origin, or a cosmic thing?

[ Maybe it's just the name that reminds her of the Phoenix Force. ]

More the latter. It's not limited to mental ability. I've heard that some creatures and species are naturally attuned to it.

Oh, sweet! I know of something similar, but it's a little more..chaotic, in my world. Like the 'eating universes' kind of chaos; super relaxing thoughts, I know.

That...sounds pretty terrible, yeah. The Force I'm talking about is more of a neutral presence, but there's potential to use it for good or abuse that power.
