So, while we're all here having barrels of fun (read as much sarcasm as you do or don't want into that — dealer's choice, I'm not your mom, etc.), I figure I'll offer my non-data point skills here for anyone who might need them. You know, when powers aren't fluctuating in storms and shit: You need some help with metals and magnetic stuff, I'm your lady.

But it must have been frightening to wake up in a place like this right before the Storm. I know this couldn't have helped.

A little, if only 'cause usually I know when something has the possibility to launch me into an alternate universe ... well, assuming cheap gin wasn't involved. After twenty-something years of doing the superhero shtick, the unpredictable becomes a little cliche — but clearly, I'm not above still being surprised. Do things ever not go from zero to a hundred here?

It was quiet for so long. The Agrii trapped us on the ships once, and then they sent us away for some kind of holiday vacation? But then we came back, and Vision disappeared, and now...this.

Usually it is about a ten, I think.

Like an actual holiday vacation, or one of those 'supposed to be a break but shit kept getting real' ones? [ Nope definitely not speaking from experience; nah why would you think that???? ]

It was supposed to be a break, I think. But a lot of people turned into children.

Mostly yeah, and it was bullshit.

What kind of storm can do something like that? That kind of makes it more difficult to work in, especially if we're expected to figure out how to stop them.

The bullshit kind of storm does. Guess we're supposed to outsmart the odds in other ways. Considering we're not dead, we seem to be doing an okay job so far. You know, for the basically five minutes we've been dealing with it.

Guess so. Not being dead's always an upside. Although it looks like we'll still have to deal with this thing. I think it's getting closer.

So you mentioned something about being good with metals and...magnetic stuff? How does that work?

The really, really short version is that there are people in my world born with an 'X-gene' that causes us to manifest powers at some point in our lives; we're colloquially called 'mutants', scientifically we're 'Homo Superior'. These powers can be anything, really. My powers allow me control over magnetism, which I can also employ to control things in the magnetic/electromagnetic/metallic/etc. spectrums.

That sounds pretty amazing. I've never heard anything like that before.

*I* think so, but I'm biased, hah. It's all fun and games until either the baseline humans, or another another category of humans, or another species entirely decides to try to politically regulate and/or attack mutants.

[ Which, she doesn't quite add, is a lot. So, basically, it's never fun and games. ]

Was your original home universe one of the 'no so called superpowers' kind?

Where I'm from, there are those who can tap into a sort of ever-present energy called the Force. We can sense things through it, and when we're in tune with it we can do a lot of superhuman things.

I mean, that does sound pretty cool. Like magic but not, ish. Is this a psychic origin, or a cosmic thing?

[ Maybe it's just the name that reminds her of the Phoenix Force. ]

More the latter. It's not limited to mental ability. I've heard that some creatures and species are naturally attuned to it.

Oh, sweet! I know of something similar, but it's a little more..chaotic, in my world. Like the 'eating universes' kind of chaos; super relaxing thoughts, I know.

That...sounds pretty terrible, yeah. The Force I'm talking about is more of a neutral presence, but there's potential to use it for good or abuse that power.

And I think I am.

I dislike the thought of being separated from the greenhouse, but I feel as though we've got plenty of people there ensuring we have food to eat, but zero doctors.

Someone needs to fill that role. And while there are many reasons why that should not be me, I think we all have to work with what we have. If someone gets sick or injured, a doctor will be necessary.

Whatever complaints or concerns I have about playing the healer pales in comparison to the needs of the people here.

Trying to clean the place and figure out what everything does and where everything is has been a nightmare, but I wished to have it functional for the storm.

There is still much to map out but it's a lot more orderly now.
