A: Arrival

[The hanger bay is bustling with activity as everyone tries to move what they need for repairs to the right spots. There's a lot to carry, and the ship isn't exactly small. It sure would be nice if there was an easier way...

And then, right in the middle of all this hubbub, there's a quick flash, and then a person-sized circle of shimmering blue suddenly opens in the air, just above the ground.

Leo steps through, having just carried something elsewhere for Donnie. Instantaneously. Because he can teleport.

Hey, did he tell anyone he can do that?]

B: Around the Ship

[Sure, Leo has the Communications data point now, but that doesn't mean he knows how to help. For one thing, the version he got off the ship isn't as powerful as the one on the planet's surface, and for another, just getting the knowledge of code beamed into his head doesn't make him some master programmer. This just isn't his area.

At least, that's his excuse for why he has completely forsaken repair duties in favor of hanging out with the younger Agrii.

He'd been hoping to learn a bit of their language, but unfortunately the Comms data point doesn't help him there, and the Agrii themselves don't seem very interested in teaching him. In fact, it seems to be the other way around, as they encourage Leo to speak so they can learn more He Row.

And, well, Leo's never had to be convinced into talking.

Catch him chilling around the ship, a small gaggle of young Agrii with him, chatting up a storm.]

So Mikey said, "I can do the one eighty, too!" and I said, "No way, little bro, you're totally gonna eat concrete," but he said he could do it so I let him try, and what do you know? [Leo slaps one palm off the other with a loud smack.] He beefed it.

["Beefed it," repeat some of the Agrii kids.

This language lesson is going great.]

C: Outside the All Gather

[So you've finally done it - you've managed to convince one of the Agrii kids to take you to the All Gather, or perhaps followed them to this location. It was hard work, but you're here. Maybe you can finally find out what the Agrii are-

There's a few ripples on the surface of the water, and then a bald, green head breaks through with a splash. Hey, wait, that's not one of the Agrii.]

Hold on, hold on, I have to breathe sometime!

[Whoever he's talking to, they must still be down below.

Leo blinks water out of his eyes, catches sight of the other crew member across the surface of the lake, then grins and gives a little wave.]

Oh, hey!

[Yeah, he's just here to swim.]

[Leo is just going to make a face at that. Because he saw it too, and he still doesn’t think that matters for a turn of phrase.]

Alright, if you’re so smart, why don’t you teach them how to talk?

Because I'm not a teacher. People don't want me doing that. It would be really bad.

Ah, see! Everyone wants to criticize but no one actually wants to do the job. That’s why the teaching profession is so hard!

[Really? Robin looks so unimpressed.]

Do you see anyone else here teaching them?

[A stupidly fair one. Now she's even more annoyed at all of the adults here.]

Right, so, let me handle it! Besides, I’m bueno at lingual things! That’s Spanish for “the best ever”.

[Trust him, Robin, he’s a professional.]

[Is he? Robin gives him a serious look.]

Few notes here. Whatever allows us to communicate with people that don't speak our languages? Yeah, it translates anything you say that the person might not understand. So someone who doesn't speak Spanish would have heard you say "i'm good at lingual things! That's spanish for 'the best ever'"

Secondly? I'm fluent in Spanish. And French. Italian. And I'm learning Russian.

Oooh, looks who’s so fancy! Knowing multiple languages and how translators work.

[Leo huffs and rolls his eyes.]

But you still won’t teach them anything so it doesn’t matter.

Taught them games earlier.

Hide and Seek. And Red Light Green Light.

[She holds up her hand, showing off a tight wrapping on it.]

Sprained my wrist when they tackled me. They didn't really get the whole 'gentle touch' concept.

[Leo can't help but snort. Which is kind of mean when she got her wrist sprained, but still.]

You taught a bunch of rowdy teens and kids Red Light Green Light, what'd you expect?

[Definitely mean. Dick move, turtle boy.]

They seem to listen to people when it comes to learning. They learned Hide and Seek pretty well. I didn't expect tackling when we expressly forbid it.

[New rule: don't teach a species with lots of meat tearing teeth and forward facing eyes a game that is about sneaking and ambushes without a LOT of padding.]

Eh, they were just having fun. Me and my brothers would do that kind of stuff all the time!

That's really not how the game works. And they're more durable than we are. I literally got hurt.

Yeah, sorry, not everyone here is durable, huh? [He nods at her wrist.] Did you ice it?

Nope. Not even remotely. I'm just a person. And of course. ANd saw a medic.

Do people normally see medics for that?

[Really? She looks at him like he's crazy.]

Of course. You just need bad luck to get badly hurt.

Oh, it's our town, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hit some people harder.
