[ action ] - Exploring the Station

WHO: Keith, open (closed thread for Jughead)
WHERE: Around the station, possibly on the Glitter Food at some point
WHAT: Exploring, shopping, figuring things out, investigating pink aliens
WHEN: during the space station phase of the event
WARNINGS: Will add as needed?

Keith had been checking things out around the station, trying to find what things were the same and what things were different. While the actual station designation hadn't really rung a bell for him (he was surprisingly bad with names), the base structure did. Granted, there had been a lot added on over time, but he kind of recognized what was original and what was new... for the most part.

There had been a good number of changes.

Still, enough people on the station remembered Drift Fleet, surprisingly enough, and Keith found it odd to once again be recognized by strangers. He hadn't had this since the last time he'd been home, being recognized as a Voltron Paladin, and someone who had essentially saved Earth. And, honestly, it didn't feel any better than last time, either. He wasn't a fan of the attention.

But, he also didn't mind taking advantage of it. People who did recognize him as being from Drift Fleet, and those who also recognized him as a pilot of his current ship, seemed to treat him a bit differently. It seemed to get him into a few advantageous situations, and, at this point, he wasn't above leveraging that in order to get what they needed on this current mission. In fact, one stall in particular basically gifted him a blanket that had been an exact replica of one seen on the show...

Keith wasn't sure how he felt about that. It had been from their last Calibrations before breaking free of the Marsiva.

Either way, he could be found out and about, either laden with useful supplies he'd found or not, maybe he was your station "Uber" driver for the day, as he'd picked that up for some odd jobs and to earn some extra cash during their stay, or maybe he was the bouncer at the door of the club you were going to that night. He'll probably let you in...

{OOC: Will match format.}

"At least someone will get use of it," she decides after a minute. He seems to dislike it so it's a bit safer to agree that it is... a unique bit of fabric.

"Well, I have been doing my best to acquire funds," Lark says. "There are plenty here who will happily pay for the work of a seamstress."

Which has been quite lucrative for her.

"While normally I would wonder as to whether those merchants were doing right by themselves, I do recognize that are are in a situation where those discounts help. Perhaps you could work with me on some of that? I wish to get more fabric for clothing. Items I don't have to make myself."

"Oh that is wonderful to hear," she says with a smile. "I'd be happy to see that the first shirt is for you if you wish."

Because it's only fair.

"I will make things for you after we leave here," she points out. There won't be paying customers then. She is content to follow him for now.

Lark was most decidedly partial to walking. When they stop at the cafe she happily accepts a cup of tea and nothing more, as she did like a nice warm beverage from time to time.

"Oh my, they do recognize you," Lark says, her voice in a low whisper as she touches his arm. A silent gesture of appreciation before she sweeps gracefully into the shop.

"Oh my," She says, her hands sliding over a length of silk. "This is rare to find back home."

"It is a wonderful material. And this bolt is very well made. I can feel it. It wants to be made into something beautiful to compliment it."

"Soft, breathable, and strong," Lark says. "But it's also vain. Not many fibers are, and when they are, they tend to be from animals, such as silk is."

"Of course it does. All living things have a character to them. Is that truly that surprising?"

Of course Briar had seemed shocked when he'd learned that there were personalities to plants. Why not be shocked that there were characteristics to threads?

Actually, if she knew of quintessence, she would happily agree that there is some similarity between it and the magic that exists in the core of things. Though the magic can only be tapped into by the right people in many cases.

"Ambient mages are talented at finding the inherent magic and life in all things. In the things we make and work with. Smithmages and Greenmages, Dancemages and Cookmages. Weathermages and I've heard there are even rockmages. That's just how life works sometimes."

"As we have some who can use what we call academic magic with training I expect," she notes. But there is something else entirely when it came to ambient magic. Connecting to things that are different from putting together the right components that everyone can get the same results out of is always interesting.
