WHO: Donnie and you!?!
WHERE: Around Temba and Sh'Ka
WHAT: Science, remodeling, and the usual tech-tinkering
WHEN: Early now
WARNINGS: N/A
NOTES: Will match tagging format!!
i. Flip It
A turtle's work is never done, but Donnie'd like to think he's been making progress. There's been some noise over in the area of the factories in the southern area of the city, one of which Donnie has been retrofitting to suit his and Sonic's (oh, who're we kidding, mostly his) needs. Giant rocket-powered hammers smashing out walls definitely makes noise, but he's gotten one portion opened up after figuring which side is exposed to the most sun during the long days. He's added in some extra support beams and cleaned up the edges just enough to make it look tastefully broken. Oh the things he does to make his own greenhouse, but once this part is done, the rest is considerably easy.
Today he's adding glass panes, big ones he's salvaged from other buildings. It's been some work but he's extra careful as he shoulders one into position. He's removed his battle shell for this delicate operation, not wanting to scratch it up with the metal. If he's not caught in the process, then he might be found tending to shelves just outside along another wall, filled with various potted plants (is that a blood vine...)
ii. Haul It
Wheels on uneven ground make for quite a racket, which Donnie is only too aware of as he rolls a table along the broken roads. He needs a replacement, seeing as how the Agrii kind of took his last one.
"Note to self, prioritize detachable rotors on battle shell with alternate surface attachment..." he grumbles as he tugs the thing, clattering along. Pushing it doesn't work quite so well for the way the wheels he'd slapped onto the thing just go every-which-way.
iii. Tech It
Whenever Donnie has Robotnik appointments in Sh'Ka, he always makes the most out of the trip since it takes so long to get to and from. After delivering his latest batch of experimental rechargeable batteries and any work he's assisting with at the tinkerer-doctor's place, the turtle teen's about the empty city.
Usually he's wherever there's power running somewhere, because that means there's some kind of equipment or machinery running. In this instance he's at the security station. The videos that play on the screens in there hadn't made much sense to him, quickly dismissed as some kind of weird nature program that Donnie had immediately lost interest in after thirty seconds. He's not here to watch stuff anyway! He's here to pillage!!! ...or at least figure out what's going on with the power here...
iv. Choose Your Own Adventure!

HAUL IT
no subject
"....really??"
no subject
"Hey, bud! You look like you're havin' a hard time, need some help?"
Yes, he asks this as he's till sitting on the table. Also yes, he finds this hilarious. It's like he's bored out of his mind now that there's nothing around trying to kill everyone.
no subject
"...well, since you're offering, yes. I think some assistance would be much appreciated as I am not running a taxi service."
no subject
He'll clown off, but he's not out here to make anyone's life harder. Sonic hops off the table and around behind it to push.
"So! Where's this going?"
no subject
Donnie straightens and starts to pull on his end of the table again once Sonic's got himself situated behind it.
"Back to our factory. The last one sort of got abducted by aliens."
no subject
"Is there a story behind that, or did the aliens just really need a new table?"
uefn FONNIE
"Oh, well I made a couple things for the Agrii and figured that if they can make things appear anywhere, no problem, and apparently watch us all the time, then they'd have no problems retrieving something specified for them. Which I was correct, except they also took the table said items were on. ...and part of the flooring beneath it."
Re: uefn FONNIE
Maybe it's because he spends most of his time outside running around like an over caffeinated six year old with the zoomies.
"What'd you make for the Agrii, anyway?"
no subject
Donnie stops to nudge away a large chunk of rock from their path. "Just a clock and a little terrarium. There's a lot of stuff they don't know, and they only seem to observe us. When I talked to them, I just figured it would be easier for them to experience it for themselves so they'd have a better idea of what I was describing to them."
no subject
That would be the most annoying thing ever, he's finally recovered from the last time he mangled his leg up. Though he does walk face first into the back of the table when Donnie stops, buuut he's just gonna play it cool and pretend that didn't happen.
"Anyway, that's not a bad idea. I keep tryin' to remind myself that they just don't know things and they're not actually out to make our lives suck."
no subject
Donnie catches a glimpse of Sonic kissing the table, half amused and half grimacing, but at least it looks like the hedgehog hadn't hurt himself.
"Yeah, it's hard. So easy to get frustrated with them- I know I was, just talking to them because it sounded like nothing I was saying was getting through, and we were talking in circles... But... They've been living on that ship for their entire lifetime, they've never been on any worlds for very long and just seem so convinced that this is where they need to eventually be, just because it's where their ancestors had lived before. But everything they've been learning now, they learn from watching us."
no subject
Yeah he's still a little bitter about the volcano thing. Don't worry about it.

Flip it
So his blue eyes noted it them right away and he took a step closer, but he was still a small distance away.
"What do you have planted in the pots?"
no subject
"Don't touch that one," he adds in afterthought, gesturing vaguely at the pot that might be containing a winding vine with white spines with several deep red berries around some of them.
no subject
Looking now at the plant in question, he pulled his head back. "It sure doesn't look touch friendly, especially with those spines." Angeal then looked around. "So these are all yours?"
no subject
"Yeah, pretty much. So if you're looking to start any gardening projects I'd direct you to the agriculture center."
no subject
Looking over at the other as he went on about the agriculture center, the Soldier nodded. "Is that where everyone starts?"
no subject
no subject
Angeal took another look around, impressed. "So it just comes natural to you? Or did you choose Agriculture?"
no subject
And yet Donnie's swapped between several, but only when absolutely necessary, trying to keep it to a minimum.
"Oh, I've always loved botany. I um. Chose agriculture first though, yeah." Accidentally, really. "But it's mostly knowledge in identifying and potential uses, and the rest is pretty standard to figure out if you know plants. Guess it really comes in handy if you find anything unlisted in the database."
no subject
That was a pretty sobering report he'd just received.
But once Donnie started speaking again, Angeal made sure to listen. "That might come in pretty handy here in an unfamiliar world. But what you've done an amazing job with everything from the looks of things."
no subject
"Sure, you could learn stuff from touching suspicious spheres that manage inexplicable information uploads directly into your brain, but the best way to learn things and make it stick is to get your hands dirty."
