I. Cowardly Behaviors | CW: Panic attack

Storms are the worst. Storms mess with Tommy's head like nothing else does. His powers are who he is, and the amount of times they've been taken away lately have been pretty upsetting. Which of course is why Tommy does the only thing he knows how to do. He hides. Hides in a corner of his new apartment over the diner, hiding under a blanket and shaking.

He's powerless and that scares him. Always scares him. Keeps getting him injured. Keeps reminding him he's worthless without what he can do. So he hides and tries to breathe because his whole body seems like it wants to shake out of his skin. And that's just how it goes.

This is just how his sanity goes.

II. Being A Hero | CW: 'animal attacks', possible explosions, possible blood

Power surges into his system and Tommy does the first thing he can think of. He takes off into the city, running at full speed.

Simple fact of the matter is that he wants to be a hero. More than that, you can do a hell of a lot of damage with speed. Force equals mass times acceleration. A lot of force happens when even someone wiry and slight like Tommy was bowls into something with an outstretched fist at sixty miles an hour. He's heard at mach three you basically turn a person into paste.

Really, the demodog deserves it, and Tommy has no issue at all booting it away from it's intended victim like he's a fucking... Whatever the name for the dude in football who kicks the ball when they kick it is called. Don't ask him. He doesn't watch sports.

"Well, that was fun," he says as he watches the creature go sailing limply through the air. No way it would get up wherever it landed. Then he looks to the person he rescued. "You okay? See or hear any others around?"

Because there always seemed to be others around.

III. When The Hero Needs Saved

What Tommy wasn't expecting once the powers came back in was for them to suddenly fail him again. Especially not when he had been hunting something. Something taller than him. Something with a big, screaming, flower-petal face.

"Shit," he curses as he feels it all flee him again. And he tries to back away.

"Shit," he says again as he throws himself at a tree, trying to haul himself up into it.

IV. Wildcard
[OOC: Tommy's heading into the Upside-Down on the 14th through the Fountain Gate. And he's a hero that specializes in emergency rescues. So if someone needs a rescue during the Mindflayer fights. If someone needs to be rescued and taken out for a doctor, we can wildcard Tommy showing up to rescue.]

Wow somehow this got even worse! Amazing.

"Get up! Run!!"

Yelling isn't helping, sure, but what else is he going to do right now? He's small and stupid and if he jumps out of this tree he's just going to break his legs and get eaten and then Tommy's going to get eaten, but doing nothing obviously isn't a good strategy.

He starts trying to climb down, not that he can do much. This is kind of the worst.

Yes, it's even worse. Tommy groans and pushes up and then yeah, the creature is pushing up. Pained and shaken Tommy raises a hand up.

And there is a surge then, a surge of power. His powers. But he's still too busy to use it. Maybe, though, Sonic was better now too.

Sonic's about to hop down to another branch, but then he feels that power surge, and his strategy changes completely. He tucks into a spin and blasts straight through the branch he'd been hopping down to, which catches the attention of the goofy flower faced weirdo, who then busies itself with dodging said branch.

Sonic hits the ground, then immediately launches himself at the falling branch to slam his little pointy pinball body into it, knocking it off course so that it doesn't accidentally squish Tommy. From there he launches himself at the monster and knocks it to the ground, ricochets off a tree and bashes off the monster again, rinse and repeat. He's gonna be at this for a minute probably, his panic from before has him pretty worked up.

Tommy is on his feet shortly after, and when he bounces to his feet he needs to take a millisecond to appreciate all of the bounciness. That's really cool. How does he even do that?

"Stand back," he says, his voice hard. He's going to, you know, blow this thing up.

Not missing a beat, Sonic ricochets off the monster's head one last time, bouncing high into the air before landing in a crouch next to Tommy. He's out of breath and looks a bit frazzled, but Tommy's got this. He can catch his breath for a minute while Tommy does the thing.

Tommy raises his hands before himself.

"Might want to cover your face. To keep it clean."

The Demogorgon is getting back to its feet to come at them. And... Well, needless to say as Tommy's hands vibrate the creature stills, throwing its strange head back and screaming.

And then it doesn't exactly have legs anymore.

Sonic does one better and ducks behind Tommy, peeking around him just long enough to see the Demogorgon become violently de-legged. Cue dry heave, Sonic may be no stranger to action but blood and gore isn't something that he's used to. Not that he's complaining, a monster with no legs is a monster that can't chase people and bite their faces off.

"Well, that was... Effective."

And horrible, but a win is a win!

Yeah, it was. Tommy sighs.

"I suggest you get out of here. I have to finish this thing and I don't want you to have to see that."

He knows what he can do to living beings is... bad.

"I'm not leaving you alone as long as our powers are on the fritz! Do what you have to, I'll just... stare at that tree over there."

And, y'know, be useful and watch Tommy's back. He ducks back behind his fellow speedster and does indeed stare at a tree behind them, having made up his mind that he's not going anywhere without his good bud. Sorry, Tommy.

OH. That's fair. Tommy sighs and nods.

"Just, like... Don't look."

This isn't a part of his powers he's proud of in a situation like this. But he raises his hands again and... Well, soon there just isn't much demogorgon left at all.

"Fuck. I think I need to get clean."

"I'm lookin' at the best tree right now, don't even worry about it!"

The sounds though, still kinda yikes. When it sounds like all the horrible parts are over, Sonic chances turning back around. Just, y'know, making a point not to look at where the Demogorgon once stood.

Tommy's lookin' pretty horror movie, though. It's fine, Sonic's just not going to think about it! Totally fine!

"Well, better find some running water before our speed gets turned off again, then. I think these things are attracted to blood, but I don't know if that counts for their own blood."

Tommy's... Not shaking. He'll deal with the stress of this later. There are lives to save.

"I'll hit up a bathroom or something."

Blood is blood, so yeah, he she get clean.

"You should get away from me. Just in case."

"I'll give you space, but I'm not leaving you."

True to his word, he moves a couple yards away, planning to hang back a bit when they leave. He doesn't want to get stranded alone outside any more than he wants to ditch Tommy.

"You're too good of a person, Sonic," he says with a sigh. But really, he should go. Nothing he can do about it yet.

"I'll head for the Hotel then. To try and get clean."

"And that's gotten me into trouble a few times! I can handle it, though." There's definitely a story there, maybe he should stop being so damn nice.

Sonic nods and is ready to trail Tommy back to the hotel. From there he'll see whatever other kind of trouble he can get himself into.

Has it? That's just something they have to deal with he supposes.

"Speed while we can?" he suggests as he starts walking. Or maybe they should be scared of it suddenly stopping and them crashing into something.

Hahaha as if Sonic's thinking that far ahead.

"Speed while we can. The more ground we cover, the better."

It makes sense in his head!

Tommy nods and then moves. Time to get to clean. That's really all he needed to do. Shower first.

And Sonic will make sure no evil dogs try to eat Tommy on the way. Good plan great plan!!
