A - Where preparation pays off - In & Around the Hospital || OPEN [ ~ October 11th - 13th ]
He has felt it in his blood first and foremost. The virus he carries rearing up and making every cell in his body burn to the point where his immune system started to act up as well and Wesker found himself forced to rest. When he woke up again, the virus had become quiet. Too quiet, in fact. From there it hasn't taken Wesker long to figure out what is going on and it only kicked him into full action. At least he had prepared for a scenario such as this one.
The hospital is a large complex and only a small part of it is actually being used. It's in the unused parts that Wesker has been storing his arsenal of weapons and grenades he has either built or modified over the past couple of months. His powers may be useful, but they have never been something Wesker relied on. His true power has always been his superior intellect and sharp mind. And those have made sure that he is ready to take on whatever this planet may spring at him even without having his superhuman abilities available.
He can’t help but still feel a little sluggish nonetheless. But sluggishness isn’t something Wesker can allow himself. He has seen the sky, spotted the roaming creatures and noticed the communication systems being offline. All in all, things don’t look great.
When Wesker returns to the restored part of the hospital, he is armed with a gun in hand and two larger guns on his back. All of them models available to those with the Security expertise. With the difference that Wesker has done some work on them. Or plenty of work, much rather. He has a couple grenades tucked away in various pockets in and under his coat, a first aid spray that doesn’t quite live up to his expectations as well as a sorry excuse for a flashlight. Unfortunately he hasn’t been able to acquire a proper knife either, which means his preparations are still lacking despite his efforts so far.
"I hope you are armed." He says in a calm, yet very serious voice as he steps past a room that he hears the unmistakable sounds of a person from.
B - Time to PUNCH a MINDFLAYER!! - Fountain area of Upside-Down Temba || Team Fountain Gate [ ~ October 14th - ?? ]
While Wesker remains assured that he doesn’t rely on his powers, he still is glad to have them back. And not in that unstable, fluctuating way he had to endure the past day, with his already unstable virus acting every way of wrong. It was unreliable, disorienting, at times physically making him ill. Even taking on the smaller creatures has been risky and Wesker has taken his fair share of injuries also on his way to and through the closest gate to the hospital he has been defending. But this? Right now? This is how it’s meant to be. He feels strong, fast, invincible. Wounds are closing properly and the virus is raging, urging him forward for a kill, eyes ablaze.
But what exactly is he meant to kill? There are fewer creatures right through the gate and the little ones are easy to crush but- What is it he is looking up to? This massive strange being seems so much less palpable as the other creatures that are still attacking Temba. This looks like a job for a flamethrower if he were to make a wild guess.
Guessing isn’t going to help now, however. Not with the creature slamming down a tentacle at him, forcing Wesker to dodge, drawing his gun out of pure reflex and firing at the aggressive limb. To Wesker’s own surprise, the shot hits and the tentacle flinches away. This is good information to have. He can hurt the thing and he has its attention.
Wesker switches his handgun for one of the larger weapons he carries, the glow of his eyes dimming behind his glasses as he announces to no one in particular. "Let’s do this then."

He rounds the wrong corner, having only actually traversed the hospital a total of once, and rolls in a gurney expecting to stack them somewhere, when he accidentally happens upon his mysterious coworker. "Sorry," he says, as he tries to roll the thing out but comically gets it stuck against the door. He's currently about 5' 4" and a hundred pounds, so when he tries to push the gurney, it pushes back.
"I'll be out of your hair in a second."
no subject
He has several questions he wants to ask and he decides to start simple by taking a hold of the resisting gurney with one gloved hand to keep it from going entirely astray.
“Who are you?” Is the first question Wesker asks before helping Steve to ease the gurney through the door and into the hallway and nodding at it. “And what do you want with this?”
no subject
"And I'm Steve. Steve Rogers." He holds out a hand to shake anyway, because he's nothing if not polite, even if Wesker seems annoyed at him. "You must be Dr. Wesker."
no subject
“That is correct.” He answers, then looks back at the gurney. “The hospital is not a good place to defend. So preparing it for a sudden influx of patients is a waste of time. Gathering medical supplies and taking them to the actual shelters is a more helpful approach of the current situation.” A pause. “Do you work with Dr. Takemi?” Because if he does, he should know where some of those supplies are being stored.
no subject
"I did a stock of supplies before this all started," he says. "Mom was a nurse." And he's been in hospitals enough on a personal level. "How much is going where?" Maybe he can just pack a bunch of first-aid kits. That'd be easier.
no subject
"Equal amounts for each location." Wesker answers and waves for Steve to follow him to the main storage room. "It won't be necessary to take everything. Just enough so that people can tend to their wounds. This storm won't last forever." Everything here is temporary.
no subject
It would be nice for this to be temporary, and for him to get his strength back.

The main storage room is one of the new spaces Wesker had set up with Billy's help. It's clean, well sorted and even though Wesker himself doesn't do any of the actual hospital work unless Tae requires his input on a matter, he tends to keep an eye on the storage. Someone has to.
He picks up one of the pre-packed bags from one of the shelves, weighing it in his hand for a moment before considering Steve. He should be able to carry one of these. So he gets offered one.
no subject
Steve nods and graciously accepts one of the packages from Wesker. "I could probably take more than one," he says. "To get it to people faster." Not having to go back and forth.
He really is trying to help. And though there are all these attacking creatures outside, he, while not seeming eager to go off to meet them, certainly doesn't dread doing so.

But that doesn't mean he's not happy when he can feel that connection again. It's a strangely lonesome feeling without the Force sensitivity that he's been born with. There are some things he can do without, of course. The overall pervading sense of something terrible, for one. This place makes Dathomir feel like a Life Day celebration.
In the near distance one might catch a glimpse of amber light, humming as it cleaves through the smaller creatures as the Jedi runs towards Wesker's position. It's a funny thing, running towards a such volatile concentration of energy, but that seems to be Cal's life now.
He skids to a halt once he finally comes into view of not only his questionably least-favorite person in the city but something big and difficult to make out.
"Okay, that's new..!"
no subject
Of course he's only been here for the length of time it takes Cal to blink, then he's just standing there, not quite leaning against Cal but clearly ready to use the guy as a shoulder to lean on to look cool if he thought he could get away with it.
"I mean, are evil tentacle monsters made of smoke and enough bad vibes that even I can feel it really all that new?"
Or seeing Chief Asshole Copface fighting it.
"Seriously, we could just... leave him to get his ass kicked by it, and then actually take it down proper hero style."
Sorry Wesker, you got stuck with not one, but two people who don't like you. Though of course, neither of them were the sort to actually stand back, were they?
"Hey Copface! Can I blow THIS up?"
no subject
At least Kestis has brought a useful weapon - And seemingly knows how to use it. That's something to keep in mind. Tommy's question is considered while Wesker dodges another tentacle and stores the weapon he is currently using away to take a few calculated steps away from the monster. He then suddenly leaps up, briefly disappearing from view only to reappear right above the mass where the many tentacles come together and slam a powerful kick down on it and sending the entire thing crashing to the ground. Of course it won't stay there, but it gives Wesker the time he needs to move away.
Wesker pops back up before both Cal and Tommy while the monster picks itself back up behind him. The expression he regards them with is very much neutral and he tips his head slightly in Tommy's direction first. "I'll allow it." Wesker informs the young man before looking over to Cal. "Kestis, keep the path towards the gate secure."
Well, Tommy, you're time to shine. If you're offering an easy solution, Wesker isn't above making use of it.
no subject
"Mmm...tempting but something tells me we should probably have all hands on deck for this." His lips quirk in a faint smirk at that, but he's already moving then. Like he's one to ever stand back and watch something happen!
He wouldn't be surprised if somehow Wesker managed on his own against the thing, and in spite of his dislike for the man, he can't help but be impressed at how fast Wesker can move. Cal remembers being on the receiving end of that speed and intensity too. It's not fun. Seeing the creture get smacked down only makes him all the more glad he'd managed to dodge back then.
Finding himself addressed then, the Jedi looks from Wesker to the space in question before nodding. "Sure, guess I can do that," he says, giving his lightsaber a lazy twirl before turning to dash towards a fresh swarm of faceless creatures. At least he's used to handling multiple enemies at once, which he doesn't hesitate to exhibit as he all but throws himself at them, light-blade slashing across the first of them before he turns, thrusting his hand out to send several others flying back.
no subject
"If you need some help, let me know man," he tells Caliente. "I'm fully powered."
Which means he could come in and stop a demobeast or two to help Cal. But for now, big bad evil thing. And needing to prove himself to Wesker. The dude wasn't even all that fast. For now Tommy laces his fingers together, stretches them to pop his knuckles, and then raises them toward the creature. His hands start to vibrate. And the Mindflayer starts to vibrate a little before screeching in pain and stumbling backward a few steps.
"Shit," he curses. "It's like... Like fucking jelly."
no subject
At least the Jedi doesn't argue the orders given, allowing Wesker to return his attention to- Whatever Tommy is doing.
There sure is some vibrating going on, but unfortunately no explosions. On the bright side, however, the monster is now angrily moving in their direction, obviously set on causing some harm in return.
"At least you made it angry." Wesker comments and pulls one of his weapons from his back and proceeds to load a small canister in it, roughly the size of a small can of soup. This improvised grenade launcher is still very much a protoype and Wesker hadn't brought it if the girl hadn't mentioned fire. As it stands, the weapon might just blow up in his hands when he tries firing it.
He turns to Tommy once more. "It's angry at you, so you get to distract it while I get a clear shot at its back."
no subject
Pushing the democreatures back is only a temporary solution, but it allows the Jedi to clear out some of them by the time the others are moving in again. "Is it just me or are there more?"
He slashes another one before holding his weapon out to extend another blade from the opposite end, creating a double-sided deal, one blue and one amber. He whirls it around and it thrums, the only warning the demothings get before he's upon them again with a flurry of glowing blades.
"You guys good back there?"
no subject
"Sad as if any of this shit is fun," he grumbles. How dare his powers not finish this shit off. Though the comment that the creatures are approaching has Tommy throwing a hand at one approaching demodog. A simple gesture, a half a second of power, and the thing... Well, it's simplest to say there are red splotches where there was once a demodog. That's just what it is.
"Okay, so they still work, this thing is just... I don't know. Resistant," he notes to Wasker. But he supposes angry works. "Hey big ugly! Hear you fucked with some friends of mine. Guess I have to piss you off now. Hope you die!"
Though he turns his hands back at the Flayer to try and blow up a leg again. At least a part of it explodes this time. And that makes the thing take a swing at him. Which he dodges.
"This thing is like evil jello from the fifties. Or sixties. Yo, asshole, when was that stupid 'put everything in jello' phase?"
Clearly Wesker is old enough to knoe.

Tae Takemi was anything but armed. Of course she had changed her clothes for things good to flee in, and she was in this room in particular instead of the room on the second floor she had turned into an apartment for a reason.
Really, she needed to make more emergency go bags for things like this. The amount of times she was packing up supplies was getting ridiculous. In fact, she should be setting up a secondary location in the Civics Center, maybe a tertiary somewhere as well.
"Unfortunately, Albert, that has never been my style.

“The hospital isn’t a safe place to stay in.” He says plainly. “Though I have yet to locate any safe locations.” And that’s what’s bothering him. His own current lack of information.
“The creatures outside are bound to find their way in eventually.” And he’d prefer for her to not be around when that happens.
no subject
"I had noticed that before. We're in a horribly isolated part of the city," she says with a sigh as she continues packing. "I'm thinking somewhere more central."
Creatures?
"I hate to think it, but in the long run we may need to treat this place like a zombie movie and fortify the hospital. But that's for another day."
no subject
"Pack what you need, doctor. I will make sure you get somewhere safe, but we don't have time to waste." Wesker refuses to let the one competent person in this city get eaten by monsters.
no subject
"Already on it. The escort will be appreciated. And I'm almost done."
Because shockingly, yes, she does not want eaten either.
no subject
Wesker keeps his attention on the hallway and the noises outside while the doctor finishes collecting what she needs. The faint sound of something dragging its claws over a window catches his attention, but he doesn't move towards it. "Hurry."
no subject
"I'm ready," she says as she finally hauls her packs over her shoulders.
no subject
"Stay close but be ready to hide if necessary." He instructs as he leads the way down the hall and past the door of the room where the scratching originated from. So far they don't appear to have made their way into the building. Which of course can change any moment and the closer they get to the exit the more likely it will be to run into anything.
