What's up kids, it's ya boi Sonic! I'm heading out to the volcano to check things out, see if there's anything weird up there. Not inside, don't worry. If any of you sciency types want any rock samples or whatever, maybe for sciencing out how this all happened, let me know. I can haul back as much as you need.

[He doesn't really wait around for anyone to go with him the first time he makes the trek to the volcano (he's gotta go FAST OK), but Sonic is definitely in the area long enough for people to maybe catch up with him if they feel so inclined. He'll also travel to and from the area multiple times over the course of a few days, willing to show down should anyone want to head that way with him. He's not completely rude.

He may spend a significant amount of time running around in the wilderness before stopping to stuff a bunch of rocks into a bag, or scooping ash or dirt into some kind of container. Maybe it isn't super exciting, but even Sonic can't be EXTREEEEME all the time. Sometimes a hedgehog's gotta just chill and do a little sight seeing!

He's nuts enough to go up as high as he can of course, but he can also be found near the base of the volcano checking out the damage there.]

[Joke's on you NERD, Sonic fully expected Eggman to take his sweetass time. Just out of spite he had also taken his time, but had still managed to show up well before Eggman. Yes, he's annoyed, but he's prepared for it.]

Just given the nature of who I am and what I do, I usually end up waiting for most people. It's nothing special.

[He'd been sitting on the edge of the fountain, and now that Eggman is here FINALLY, he hops off and collects a couple of bags off the ground. One is empty and for rock and shit, the other is SNACKS for HIM and ONLY HIM.]

That was my plan, but now that I'm going to be babysitting, I guess a little preplanning's in order. I haven't been out that way yet though, so we should probably get out there see what we're working with first.

I can't think of a time when it wasn't a hindrance.

We have maps of this town and the other one, but as far as I know, nobody's mapped out the volcano specifically yet. The volcano's still a pretty new feature, after all. It formed real fast, so any maps we would have made would be completely obsolete by now anyway.

'The other one?' You mean to tell me this isn't the only settlement?

[Fortunately for Sonic, Eggman's brought some rudimentary gear. It's analogue, but it'll at least help him map the area.]

If I was hiding it, I wouldn't be telling you about it, genius. The other city's called Sk'Ka, so far the only way to get there is by train. It goes through a tunnel which is, of course, blocked by a forcefield that only the train can go through.

[Why yes he had run face first into it trying to get there on foot.]

Anyway, the next time I need to go out that way, I'm gonna try to find an alternate foot path. It's pretty much the mirror image of this town in terms of layout, just smaller in scale. Nobody actually lives there as far as I know.

...Interesting. The train is running despite there being no real infrastructure here?

A surprising amount of pragmatism and restraint coming from you. Perhaps being trapped here has forced you to overcome some of your more obvious weak points.

You say you spent a month underground in that bunker. Are large events like this volcano a common occurrence?

I haven't been here as long as most people, but it does seem like big stuff happens pretty regularly. My first month here was pretty dead, the Agrii set up a fair or something. I think I mentioned that. After that though, most of the people in town vanished for like a month. The few people left behind with me said that everyone else was drug off for something called Calibrations, some of 'em think different aliens are responsible for that. From what I've heard, it sounds like the aliens are able to like, put people's memories on display? I don't really get what the point of it is.

Anyway, the people who were stuck in Calibrations said that the place we were stuck after the volcano thing looked almost exactly like the area they stayed during Calibrations, only worn down and busted. There's obviously a connection there, but nobody's been able to really find it yet as far as I know.

Has anyone chronicled what has happened here? Are there records from when the first abductee was brought to this world?
